Been going to Applebees for years. They used to have a nice lunch menu but with Covig they had stopped. We went in hoping for the lunch menu to be back but nothing! We went ahead and ordered our usual non-lunch but today was the last time! Oh, the food isn't bad, but my wife ordered the burger and substituted broccoli for the fries and asked them to put a little cheese on it! She kind of hinted for a white type cheese, but anyway got a sprinkle of just plain old yellow cheese! Ok, still edible, but when we got the bill they had added $3.50 to the bill for the extra cheese! I asked to talk to the manager but he never came out! I DO NOT understand how any restaurant chain can think they can get away with gyping their customers like that! And for a mere 3.50 they've lost a faithful old customer...Just doesn't make sense! read more

A moderately busy time. The cooks really let the server down AND US. We were here last week, and it was great. I ordered the quesadilla burger and my husband got their classic burger. 25 mins later, they arrived. My tortilla was so hard I couldn't chew it. So, I took a bite of the burger. Crazy salty. I thought it was just me so my husband tried it. Not good. He asked the server to send it back. I asked for a reg burger. My husband finished his meal and his beer, and still no burger. 20 mins later we asked to get a to go box and the ticket. The box with burger arrived. No ticket. The server said he would be right back. 15 mins later, we left money to cover the one burger and drinks, and the by now cold to go burger and left. We spent almost an hour and a half on a bad experience. It took 3 minutes to get a MC D's burger on the way home. So much for an evening out. read more

A nice place to hang out with friends. Happy Hour has great 1/2 price appetizer specials. There is usually a monthly drink special like Dollarita. The atmosphere screams "good time" with great music and a relaxed scene. There is usually no more than a 10 minute wait time, if any. The food is decent which is the reason for four stars instead of five. The Wonton tacos are good but I wouldn't pay regular price for them. The Blondie is a good dessert but not worth $8. The drinks are good but the lemonade is too sweet. The servers seemed a little confused about which tables they were assigned, however, we did receive good service. read more

Food is always good. Waiters/servers are the best. The bartender will make you a drink with no alcohol. We ordered a "Mudslide" but what we got was a "Sombrero" which excludes the shot of Vodka. When we brought it up to the manager, she was very nice and explained that Apple-bee's made it a new policy and what they did was same money on the main shot of alcohol. The other 2 shots are mild alcohol and a person could drink 10 of these drinks and feel nothing. To me that is like fraud or stealing. If a person orders a mudslide, make the drink as it should be or at least advise that you are making a sombrero instead. We were charged full price and I think this review needed to be put out to the public. read more

I got a 6 oz steak (medium), broccoli, and fries. The steak came well done and was the driest steak I've ever eaten; even steak sauce couldn't save it. The broccoli was unseasoned and the fries were cold and flavorless. Definitely not worth the money. read more

This Applebees had me feeling like I was in a fever dream because of how unapologetically rude everyone was and just trying to get you to leave. When we walked in one of the servers said to the people waiting next to us "I'm gonna be honest with you the kitchen is taking a while" and rolled her eyes. Once we got sat we waited about 10 minutes for our server to come over, he asked the bartender right in front of us if she was taking our table and she made a disgusted face saying no, then he turned around and asked us what we wanted. When we ordered drinks he interrupted before we were done ordering and said rudely "I'm gonna need some ID ladies so if you could please" then he proceeded to mock our drink order. We asked if we could put in our food now and he said in a rude tone "Yeah good idea it's gonna be a while". When we got our food they were out of the cheese for our pretzels and he said "you can take it or not, I don't really care either way." In addition all of the servers had a nasty attitude acting as if you were inconveniencing them by being there. I know you can't expect much from Applebees, but man this was something else. This place has been here as long as we have lived in Riverview. Consistently good service, food and drinks. We love lounge. It has good access to the bar, TVs and great people watching. The bar area has the right lighting to make it feel cozy. This place is our go to spot when we want to just run out and get away from the house but go to far. read more

This location was pretty busy so we sat at the bar inside and had a couple beers, it was buy one get one free day on beers. Which explained why the place was so busy, lol. The service was fast and friendly, and the food here is pretty good. They are always changing their menu, so that keeps lots of fresh and new items to try. My all time fav salad, Oriental Chicken Salad, was lunch today and it is as good as ever and the full serving has been restored to a full serving, thank heaven. But the star today was our server, Taz, and the entire staff for not committing the "Guys" sin. Not once, and we interacted with several of the staff. Hallelujah, it made my day! Sure nice of the managers taking the time to read this....not! You may want to listen to your customers. Wonder if corporate wants to know. I mean at least come out and tell the customer!!!! So my purpose for this post is not to bash Applebee's but more to hopefully improve them. So after 25 minutes after I was supposed to get my curbside and after no one came to tell me why it was not ready I entered the curbside door. After I was ignored even longer, one of the girls ask if I had been waited on. Once I gave my name she could not locate an order. One of the girls ask if I told them I was driving a white car, which I was not. I requested my tip back and the manager brought it to me and asked me what my problem was. While I was talking to him the girl brought my food but never handed it to me or even told me it was mine. Funny neither did the manager if that is who he really was. I had to ask if it was my food and instead of telling me yes she begun to look through the bag and call out the items. The manager walked away to find out what was going on. I then grabbed the food and left only to realize it was stone cold as if it had been laying around. I guess that's why you are at home and can warm it up. Isn't that why you get it to begin with?Of course no napkins or silverware as requested. Plus no receipt!!! Final comments is I will not go back, as if they care, until there is a change. I suggest the readers do the same!!! I updated my review as the manager took the time to address the issue prior to reading my post. Additionally he gave a full refund. Super disappointed this last visit. Drinks not refilled often table not clean and food not great. We both ordered the appetizer sampler with choice of 2 items. The servings were pretty small but I guess okay for appetizers. The problem was the food had little to no taste at all. Really no seasoning on anything and food looked like it was thrown together. Have always had good meals here so will chock this up to a bad night. We will see that next visit is like and decide on future patronage to Applebee's.... read more

The last time, the Waitress(?) when we ordered the Margaritas Special served us premium Margaritas. Then when we commented how good they were, it was pointed out that they weren't the "Specials". (Apparently, it was to increase the check so she would get a bigger tip.) The so-called Manager had to be hunted down. Really can't go wrong with Applebee's. They also have fresh new menu options but they still always offer the classic hits. Great prices and delicious food. I ordered the bourbon steak and it was cooked to perfection. Food came out very fast and service was food. And 2 for 1 specials to add to the enjoyment. And the newest thing I love here, is they incorporated the new electronic Presto system. This thing is great. You can order drink refills and appetizers right from your table. As soon as we finished our last bite i swiped the credit card on the presto machine, added a tip, and then we were out of there just like that. No more waiting for your check, waiting for them them return with the credit slip. It really is a great innovation in today's day and age read more
