Went to Applebee's tonight (Saturday 1/17) at about 5:30pm with family & friends and were told 25 minutes wait time, which is not unusual for a Saturday night. However, we waited 45 minutes and were told at that time that the wait would be an additional hour to be seated. People that were waiting were leaving as fast as customers were coming in the door. The hostess stated the issue was the kitchen and that it was severely backed up She actually started referring customers to other local restaurants. The absolute worst service I have ever had. Waited over an hr for dinner and when we received it, it was cold and raw. The manager never came around but the waiter did his best to make us happy. I will not be returning. read more

I was served cold fries TWICE! Didn't get proper fries until the end of my meal. Read on for the deets. Fried food is not difficult to do properly. You just have to give a $#1+, and this Applebee's doesn't. Ordered a Brew Pub Philly with fries. This is a standard meat sandwich and fries combo. When the food came I saw that the sandwich was fresh but the fries weren't. First thing I do is put my hand on the fried to check temp, but in future I might bring my infrared thermometer. The fries were old and barely warm. They were floppy, limp, and almost dripping with oil. Bad oil in the fryer or low fry temp caused them to absorb too much oil. They might have been ok if there were fresh but they weren't. I asked for a replacement batch of fried because I knew that these were old. The waitress brought me another set of fries on an aluminum 1/8 sheet pan. I thought that was odd, but was happy for the new fries. Sadly, these fries were just warmed up old fries. The same batch as I had before warmed up under the broiler. 10 minutes later waitress checked in again. "Were those new fries better?" she asked. I said, "No, they were still old fries that had been heated up." She said, "I will talk to my manager." A few minutes later she brought me out a 2nd 1/8th sheet pan of fries, this time they were... fresher. They were pulled out of the fryer perhaps two minutes before I got them. Not rocket hot, as they should be, but edible. Problem was that I was pretty full with my sandwich so I couldn't enjoy them properly. The manager never spoke to us. I didn't make a fuss because I was taking my daughter on a date and I knew that would upset her. This type of food is not hard. If I ask for fresh fries at McDonald's I get it every time and they are rocket hot, as they should be! The restaurant was pretty full so there should have been a lot of fry turnover, and I should have received fresh fries the first time. You expect that when you order a meal it is cooked properly. If I order ice cream I don't expect that there is a high likely hood that it is served to me as a puddle of sugar milk. Similarly, I don't expect that when I order a meat sandwich and fries, 50% of the food is old, cold, and not cooked properly. For context, I own a deep fryer and make fries several times a month. This is the proper way to make them at home. I also worked as a server at an Applebee's from '00-'01. This was a brand new restaurant in Pottstown, PA. The entire time I worked there I served food was always hot and fresh because, you know, this is what your supposed to do. read more

I understand it's Father's Day, but the wait has been insanely long...then wrong drinks, No refills, 3 wrong steak orders and wrong appetizers, 1 order not even put in and told they sold out, given and charged for sides we didn't want. We finally left, and realized we left 2 jackets. We called...they said they had them...went to pick them and they mysteriously disappeared 10 minutes after they said they had them. Having eaten here several times in the past on our annual road trip, I was disappointed to see how far it has fallen. The prices have gone up, the dishes are way over salted, the food is just terrible. I should have known when the hostess wiped off our table with a smelly damp rag... leaving the table sticky & stinky. We will not be back, & if this is any indication of other Applebee's venues, then we will never set foot in an Applebee's again. read more

I came to Applebee's on a Sunday for a quiet lunch, at 1 :20 pm they started blaring the football game. My wife Laura asked the waitress to turn it down, she said it's like this on game day. I interjected, since when did Applebee's become a Sports Bar! The waitress continued to argue with my wife, I interject again that I have never heard any sports on at any Applebee's before! The waitress continued to argue with us, she was rude, made herself to sound obnoxious!! The manager cane over, useless, I would never go to this Applebee's Again!! The place had limited customers, I can see why now, just not worth it, my wife ordered an add on to her meal, $1 or $1.99, the waitress was obviously trying to make the bill go up to get better tips. I heard her hounding customers behind us, that egg is a dollar more is that alright. My wife was charged 4.29 for her soup, the appetizer price!! Good Service does not mean nickel and dining you because you do NO substitutions to charge more money!! Good service is a friendly waiter, she was fake! Good food and not waiting 45 minutes for chicken and a burger when the place is empty!! No wonder you are short in the kitchen, I would not let anyone I know work here! read more

The. Worst. Experience. In. A. Restaurant. --- EVER. Food did not come as requested. Took 20 minutes for it to come back, while the rest of the group had in the meantime, already finished their meal. When we asked our waiter to check on the meal which had to be sent back, we saw him (for 20 mins!) helping the tables around us but never once came to us to say it would be out shortly. He also never brought our new drinks over and to add insult to injury, they charged us twice for the meal which had to be sent back. I had ordered the chicken wings ("the best wings around") but they were over-sauced and so crispy hard that the meat was difficult to find. Did I get any hand-wipes, a usual expectation with wings? Nope. Had to ask for them after the bill was already brought. The waiter was a very nice guy, but should get more training. We felt very abused - not even was one drink free offered for all what we went through. Will never go to another Applebees again - I'm sure the feeling is now mutual. read more

hahahaha don't ever go here the way they will treat you is absolutely disgusting. me and my friend went in. we stood by the hostess desk thing waiting for the hostess to seat us. we stood for about five minutes when we realized we could sit in the little waiting area. we sat and waited and got stared at by the waitresses and who i'm assuming was the hostess. we were sitting for about 20 minutes at this point being completely ignored when a man walked in the front door. he stood there for about 30 seconds until the hostess greeted him and sat him. while she was walking up to him i said "excuse me" she looked at me greeted him and then walked away. absolutely awful. we did absolutely nothing wrong we waited quietly and patiently we weren't dirty we weren't disrespectful. read more

I called in curbside to go. I arrived and waited outside in my vehicle for my food. I was on my phone and did not realize how long I had been waiting. I went inside to find out where was my food. I was informed that they had no one running curbside today and I had to go to the bar and get my food. I went to the bar and informed the bartender why I was there. She informed me that there cameras do not work so customers have to come inside to get there food. This is unacceptable. How am I or customers suppose to know that they must come inside? read more

I had my worst dining experience in my life at this particular Applebee. For starter, I ordered Spinach and Artichoke dip for appetizer. I also asked for a side of salsa and sour cream to come with it. It came with not much chips, the dip was cold, and they only brought salsa, no sour cream. Not pleasant with this, I called the waitress. She brought in a new one, the dip was hot, there were plenty of chips and sour cream came. So I let it go until my girlfriend finds a full length of PENNE PASTA in her SOUR CREAM!! Baffled by this, I asked for the manager and the manager came and he gave some sympathy but his reaction also appeared that he was not surprised by this. He happily made my appetizer free. He also said that he would make my drinks free- the dumbest mistake he made- I had a glass of water which is already free. This did not make me happier but I decided to let it go since my appetizer is free now right? Well not until I got my meal. My girlfriend and I ordered the cowboy burger. I ate that many time in the past so I should know what to expect. It came with the burger being burnt, and well done while I asked for medium (pink center) and my girlfriend also asked for medium well (slightly pink center). The buns were overly toasted. The onions strings were not fried. The french fries were too crisp. My girlfriend and I did not finish our meal. The manger and the waitress and probably the cook already knew that I was not happy about my appetizer, and yet they did not pay attention to details. I was unpleasant about this. They were lucky that I was still wiling to pay for my meal but I am NEVER going back there ever again and I suggest that you don't. The manager and the employees have no attention to details. How the heck do you spoon up a spoonful of sour cream without noticing a pasta in there. How the heck do you miss out that the burger is too well done and the buns are burnt. Just awful. read more

I had a terrible experience here. They brought my mom out parley that was brown and all of the rest of her food was dry. The server did not care and when asked for a manager that took twenty mins! The overall service was terrible and personally I will not go there anymore if it were the last place open. Thumbs down! read more

I've gone numerous times to all of the local Applebee's over the past several years, and they've been going down a long slide to oblivion. At one time they had great onion rings, second only to Quaker Steak, but the last couple of times we got them they were way overcooked (dingy brown and tough) and the onions were so tough and stringy they needed a knife to cut through. The portions of their standards are shrinking, their "select" grade steaks have fairly good flavor but need to be run through a food processor because of all the gristle and sinew... That being said, what finally brought me to the point of bad mouthing them is they simultaneously raised the price of their "New England Fish and Chips" $2 from 9 and change to 11 and change, and pulled a fast one by replacing the traditional haddock (which has been shrinking like their other stuff) with "cold water white fish", which is code for "Alaskan pollack".My bad, I ordered the fish and chips as usual without looking at the menu, and noticed the fish was on the blubbery rubbery side, unlike haddock, and as an afterthought examined the menu fine print. I told the waitress that Alaska is not part of New England. read more

My dining experience at the West Henrietta Road Applebee's was one for the books - and not in a good way. I could list out all of the things that went wrong with our dining experience, but it would be too exhaustive. They did try to make it right by giving us a large discount on our meal, however the manager didn't even bother to come out to talk to us when we asked to speak with them. I have worked for over 10 years in customer service retail and restaurant business and I'd NEVER write a bad yelp review out of pure respect and code of brother/sisterhood in the service industry no matter the level of service but I can not hold this one in. This was the absolute worst experience I have had in a restaurant in general in my life. I am normally indecisive when I order and I do my best to be the least annoying I can but the waiter/bartender was rude and unprofessional. He told me he doesn't mind me being indecisive as long as I'm "not a bitch." I ordered the sampler platter that's comes with a chicken quesadilla mozzarella sticks and wings. I CLEARLY told the waiter that I am a VEGETARIAN. All I asked for was to sub out the wings for more mozzarella sticks and leave the chicken out of my quesadilla. He told me no problem. When I get my food I begin to eat the mozzarella sticks and as I begin to eat my quesadilla, after 2 bites I realize it is filled with chicken that I had already eaten. I rush to the bathroom and throw up. I eat this way due to ethical issues and I understand people make mistakes but this has completely turned me off of this foodchain. What a completely careless thing to do. I can not tell you how disgusted and angry I am. Shame on this restaurant for being so very careless. I've never had to write a review on here before but our experience this time was HORRIBLE!!! We went to this Applebee's on 12/4/14 for my mother in- laws birthday because she likes this restaurant and it was in between both our houses. We got there about 6:30pm and it was not busy at all. We meet my husbands parents there so they already had drinks. When we sat down I saw the new table side ordering system and thought that was neat! We waited more than 6mins and still no one came over to greet us. As a server myself and my husband a restaurant manager waiting that long should not happen when it's dead. On that new system you can ring for your server so I pushed the button. (isn't that what your supposed to do?!) well our server came over with a rude attitude! She didn't even say her name or ask how we were doing it was.... " I was busy in the back and have lots to do" so that really set off the mood for the night! She was very rude rushing us with our whole order which we weren't even ready for. So after ordering our drinks my kids and husband got their drinks (all drinks came from the bar) and then shortly after we got our appetizer. I on the other hand still don't have my drink. The excuse was the bartender is on the phone. So then finally I got my drink she took our order to and the whole time never checked back on us. Didn't even refill any of our drinks. The manager brought the meals out and asked it there was anything else we needed and I looked down and said yes my food?! He said oh oops I'll check on that and we asked for a side of honey mustard and a refill on a coke. He brought my food out and still forgot the honey mustard. All the food was barley luke warm and at this point I didn't even want to eat mine. I could tell the food was sitting in the window under the heating lamp because when it does it dries out the chicken which I had. My husband ordered the sizzling skillet and that didn't even come out sizzling! Our server still didn't ask us if we needed any refills and only checked on us once. She over heard us complaining and asked if everything was ok and if we needed boxes. Really?! We had just gotten our food. She knew we were annoyed and at this point my husband called the manager over and explained to him what a horrible night we were having. He said he would take something off the bill but we said that doesn't even matter because that wouldn't make the experience any better. He ended up giving us two free desserts for the kids and $8.00 off the 2 for 20 meal my in- laws ordered. I could not believe what a horrible time we had! I have since told many people our experience there and to not go there again! We will never go to this Applebee's again! Just awful! No excuse when it's dead on a thursday night! read more
