Called in a small order to go as it was on my route home. Very cordial on the phone. When I got there, the bar was packed, loud, and busy. Never less, the first server I could snag said for me to wait at the bar and promptly retrieved my chicken finger and tater order. It was hot and tasty when I got it home. We were in town for a nice overnight trip. I'm glad I called to make reservations because it was "Dart Night" and the place was packed. It was very busy and that was not a problem, but if we're there on a Thursday again, we'll ask to be seated near the front...it was a little hard to talk at times. We did enjoy watching them play and the excitement was nice to see. It felt like a hometown bar and restaurant everyone were having a great time. We started with the drink special....It was green for St Patrick's Day and was fruity and sweet.. pineapple juice, peach schnapps and we all enjoyed it. I had an appetizer special which was small balls deep fried with mashed potatoes, cabbage and corned beef inside. Perfectly cooked, but my only issue was getting 3 small balls with hardly any corned beef inside. I'd skip these next time. Our meals were very good, served hot and everything tasted fresh and delicious. Steak salad cooked perfectly as ordered, corned beef and cabbage and my award winning After Math Burger ! Made a reservation the day before for five people at 5:30. We arrived early at 5:15 and told the hostess we had a reservation. She said, "Let me see what we have open," then walked away and never came back. After waiting about five minutes, we asked the bartender, only to be told there was no record of our reservation. It would have been nice if someone had followed up with us instead of leaving us standing there unsure of what was going on. This used to be a great, friendly place, but the hospitality and overall experience seem to be going downhill. It feels like upgrades are being made in some areas, while the basics that really matter--like communication, food quality and customer service--are being overlooked. read more

Came for $0.75 cent wing night-- the wings were good, but honestly couldn't even believe when reviewing my bill that I was charged extra for blue cheese and celery --- items that just automatically come with wings any other place in the world ... I got 3 small celery sticks that I was charged $0.75 for and then charged another $0.75 for a small cup of blue cheese dressing. It's not a lot more I guess ... but it's the concept really. A friend of my wife recommended Tap It and said their beef on weck was great. The challenge of finding a decent beef on weck in the Rochester area can be very difficult so I had to find out if this was true. When we got there and I read on the menu that it was served on a brioche roll instead of a Kaiser roll and with horsey mayo instead of horseradish, I was skeptical, but I forged ahead anyway. Well it turns out I just had to ask if they had horseradish and the server/bartender was more than happy to bring me some on the side. Anyway, I absolutely loved my sandwich. the beef was plentiful and tender. The roll was fresh and lightly toasted. And the horseradish was good. The au jus dipping sauce was perfect. I was very happy. By the way, my wife also loved her capellini salad and sweet potato fries as well. Mission accomplished. Overall, it's a cool place with friendly clientele. The bar had a nice selection of draft beer and was packed shortly after 5pm so it seems plenty of people have already caught on to this place. read more

I'm going to start off by saying that I came here for my cornhole league, but also interested in trying the Aftermath burger due to its recent media exposure. I can see why it was ranked so high! It lived up to its reputation. The onion straws, meat hot, and fried egg all work so well together. The egg was runny, which is key for this burger. The tater tots were perfectly crispy and tasty, but I barely touched them other than to scoop up burger toppings that fell off (the burger is enormous). We also got fried pickles and loaded fries. Everything was good. I'm not in the "this is the best burger in NY/WNY/CNY" crowd - I personally felt it's overpriced at $18, but it was good. Its great Yelp reviews and proximity to RIT brought us to The Tap It and we are all so glad we went. This neighborhood bar served us truly delicious food. Our 19yo son said that the black bean burger was "excellent, the best he'd ever had." My husband and I had the fish special that is offered on Fridays: two (2!) broiled or fried haddock fillet dinners, each with a side and coleslaw, for $26.95. We chose broiled -- one with lemon pepper and one with cajun seasoning. Both were generously sized, cooked perfectly, and came with tasty sides: onion rings and fresh steamed broccoli. The Tap It has lots of specials for NFL football-game nights and the beer selection is decent -- it would be a really fun place to watch a game. We'll be back when we are next in town. read more

Fun food. Fun and good service. My daughter loved the Mac and cheese. I have to personally highly recommend the pierogies with the tap it sauce. I don't know why I haven't thought to do pierogies with hot sauce at home before but they are fun with their home made sauce here. The base is pretty good but the vegetables are undercooked, there's barely any chicken and zero shrimp. I tell Sabrina (the bartender) that the soup is pretty good but there's no shrimp. Her response is a dismissive "Oh really". Maybe something different like "let me see about getting you some" or "let me make sure they didn't forget to put it in" would be more appropriate. My husband and I went to The Tap It Bar and Grill for dinner on Thursday. We have been in there prior to this and really love the music playing and the service. On Thursday, which is taco night, we ordered nachos and a chicken taco. The checken on the taco was seasoned and delicious. We were asked to pick the cheese for the nachos and chose beer cheese. They were delicsious. The special drink was a watermelon margarita and it was a really good drink. Throughout our meal we were asked if we wanted anything else. Our server Karly was very attentive and friendly and Marie the bartender had also asked us if we would like anything. We will continue to go there.
