IF YOU SEE THE PARKING LOT EMPTY AT 9pm on a Friday night HERES THE REASON WHY. very poor service from a waiter who didn't seem to care about his job too much. first my husband and I were sat down; our order was taken. we never received our appetizer until we asked for it AFTER our entrees showed to our table. we were given no silverware, both my husband and I ordered drinks from the bar; we were never offered a refill or asked if we would like another. my husband asked for extra shrimps in his burbon street chicken, didn't recieve that but was charged for it. I asked to have chicken alfredo with no broccoli and shrimp added. my food came out with no chicken and just shrimp. waited for 10+ minutes for the waiter to come back, he was too busy pushing around a mop bucket. Haven't had Applebee's in a very long time. I called an order in from the parking lot and was told it would be about 20 minutes, and it WAS ready for pickup 20 minutes later. The food was Excellent! Large portions. I had the Fiesta Lime Chicken(my favorite) and it was just as good as I remember from over a year ago. Also had an order of Honey BBQ boneless wings, very good. Great food and amazing staff at St John's Applebees. The staff here took great care of us last night. Food tasted great, kudos to the cooks and the service was very timely. Drinks were also spot on. Everything was perfect from the volume and type of music all the way to the management coming out and asking how we were doing and asking if the food was perfect. I may be a tough critic, but this experience was lousy. The server was not personable. She seemed very scripted. When asked about the "TED" touchscreen system, I said I'm familiar with it. Her response was, well I'm required to explain it to every table regardless. Ordered food, my nephews yogurt had a hair in it, it positively could not be his. My vegetables with my meal were very small portioned and extremely overcooked. (Picture included) I brought this to the waitresses' attention and she said she would bring me more. Once the bill came, there was a charge for the replacement vegetables on the bill. I WAS able to get the charge removed, though it doesn't change that they tried to charge me first. After we left the building, it was dark. There were no parking light lights or exterior lights on the building turned on. We fell back a couple weeks ago, it can't take this long to adjust the timers for the lights. read more

I've had good experiences with Applebee's in the past, but not this time. The food was okay but could have been better. Some of the chips with our appetizer were stale, and the broccoli in the pasta was undercooked. When we arrived, we were told we would have to wait 15-20 minutes for a table, without explanation. There were several empty tables - the restaurant was nearly empty, and there were several staff standing near the kitchen conversing. Upon further questioning, the hostess shared that they were short staffed. Perhaps if the hostess had stated something like "we are short staffed today, so would you mind waiting 15-20 minutes? You can sit in a booth and look through the menu and sip on some water while you wait," it would have been a more pleasant experience from the start. Instead, we had to stand and wait for a table due to the limited seating area of the already crowded waiting area. I observed throughout my visit that a few minutes after we were seated, people began to get seated immediately. I also observed that several staff members, at least 2-3 at a time seemed to have time to converse. Our server was friendly enough but was not extremely attentive. Unless management improves and puts customers first here, I would not return. In addition, hostesses should have much better conversational and people skills. If I ever ordered again, I would order takeout to avoid being treated like a number. read more

Yesterday we went there for a late lunch so not to busy. Host greeted us and showed us to our table and told us who our server would be. We reviewed the menu and another group was seated at the table next to us. We still had not been greeted by our server. Then we see a server take the order of the table beside us, the one seated after us. We set a wait time and decided if no server, we would leave. Time came and went, so we walked out. No one even noticed we were leaving. Manager needs to get on the ball and whip the staff into shape. Very disappointed with the service. Ordered a big meal to surprise my mother and family for Mother's Day. I understand it being a big day and all, but they lost my order. When my step dad went to go pick up my order, many people kept coming out to ask him if he'd gotten his food or not and he repeatedly said no but not a single person that came out to asked never came back out to see if anyone had found our order. 2 hours later, I now have no food to give to my mother for her special day. Again, I understand that it's Mother's Day, but there is no reason it should have taken 2 hours just for absolutely nothing. The WORST Applebee's around and will never order from there again. 5:30 pm on a Thursday, my husband and I went to this location. Checked in with hostess and she said it'll be a 5-10 minute wait. I looked around to see at least 10 empty tables. I asked "can't we sit right there". Her response was "we can't overwhelm the kitchen staff, it'll be 5-10 minutes". There were 2 other parties waiting to be seated in a restaurant with all those empty tables. You've got to be kidding me! You can't seat your customers because it might overwhelm your kitchen staff! My boyfriend and I have been to this Applebee's numerous times, and he has explained to me that before he's had very poor service. However, I had yet to see that so i doubted him. I have never once had an issue with any Applebee's. As a matter of fact, Applebee's has been high on my list of favorite restaurants since i was a child. We walked in and were seated in the corner booth of the restaurant. The hostess explained Riley would be our server, and we waited for our drinks. About a minute passed by with no service and my boyfriend immediately said, "I bet you we wont get served". After I laughed off his comment, he started a timer for fun. 5 minutes went by...nothing. Another 5 minutes went by...still nothing. My boyfriend suggested we go to a different place, but i insisted we wait for our "waitress" Riley. Little did I know, he knew who Riley was since he is from the area and he had been watching her roll silverware for the past 7 minutes or so. By the time the stopwatch reached 15 minutes, we had still not yet been given drinks (all we wanted was water...simple enough you would think) or have our orders taken. A waitress, named Emma, was at the computer not far from us. My boyfriend asked her if she would like another table. She was EXTREMELY friendly and apologetic for our wait. She said that she would ask Riley if she wanted us...a table....in HER OWN section. I immediately answered "we don't want her". I would never give my business and/or tip to a waitress who "didn't want us". From then on we had an enjoyable meal with our new and much more efficient,kind and talented waitress. I am a waitress in my own town. My restaurant is no where near close to a 5 star restaurant, nor is it a part of a chain as highly regarded as Applebee's. However, that kind of service would never happen at my workplace. I have never been so disregarded by a waitress in my life. On top of that, instead of addressing us herself, she sent our Emma over to us to put all the blame on the hostesses. I, as well as my boyfriend, know from own serving experience, that the hostesses job is not to look over YOUR OWN section while you do side work instead of paying attention to customers/tables. I have seen this particular restaurant much busier, so that is not even a factor in this case. I am appalled by this waitress' work ethic and disregard so much that we will not attend this place (where we happen to eat quite frequently), nor will I recommend it to anyone ever again. read more

My family was at the Saint John's location. The servers were all crowded around the kitchen laughing and talking. Keep in mind they were not busy at the time of our visit. I heard a few of them swearing, one who I found out later was the GM (Kay), was also conducting herself unprofessionally by using profanity. Eventually , after 15 minutes without being greeted I walked up to where everyone was and asked if we could be waited on. Finally we did get service. My burger was raw and had a piece of paper in it. My wife had Chicken and Shrimp which came out after my food and the rest of my families food.We waited long periods of time for drinks and refills, both alcohol and non alcohol. We never received an apology for the poor service, poor quality of food or extreme unprofessionalism!! We will NEVER be back!! The General Manger should not be in this position if this is how she conducts herself and manages the restaurant. read more

Chain restaurants always suffer from subpar cooking. On two occasions within this month my orders were not made according to what the menu said. Additionally, the food preperation appeared hasty as if the cook was just trying to get dishes out of the kitchen. This is indicative of either little experience or little desire to cook. Also, while the wait staff was friendly they clearly had little expierence waiting in a restaurant. They forgot multiple garnishes, extra lemon for water required multiple cues before it was brought. At the time there were 3 full tables in the entire restaurant so busyness could not be blamed. Providing good food and service is not hard as long as staff makes the effort. I really did not get that feeling. read more
