This place is absolutely massive, which is exactly why we picked it for our group of twenty seven people. A big group needs space and a huge menu so everyone can actually find something they want to eat. The college aged kids working the tables were running around trying their absolute best to keep up with the drink orders and the food. It took forever for anything to arrive, but honestly that part is understandable with a crowd our size. Things started getting weird when the entrees showed up before the appetizers and salads. I dug into my stuffed Chicago style pizza and noticed it was barely warm. Even stranger, it was sitting in this unbaked pan on top of some weird tray keeping it off the bottom. There was zero crusting on the pan at all, which makes no sense for a pizza that is supposed to bake for thirty minutes. It was just a lukewarm disappointment. Then the night took a massive turn for the worse. Halfway through the meal, the guy sitting right next to me jumped up because he saw a bug. He lifted his pizza up, and a live cockroach came running out across the table. One of our friends had to trap the thing under a glass. The whole table went into a frenzy, so we called for the manager. When he finally showed up, he was completely nonchalant about the fact that a live roach just crawled out of our dinner. He gave us a casual apology and walked away. After waiting around for another half hour, we spotted him just casually wiping down other tables. We had to confront him again to see what was being done, and he just brushed us off by saying the waitress would handle it. He comped a few minor things, but left almost the entire bill full. We had to push him a third time because half the table lost their appetite and refused to pay for food that came out of a roach infested kitchen. He threw a small discount at us, but still forced everyone to pay for their tabs. While we were trying to settle up and just get out of there, the staff started opening up to us. Our waitress told us she was quitting in a week because this kind of stuff happens constantly, and she was tired of dealing with the fallout. Another waiter mentioned it was only his third day on the job and he was already planning to jump ship. To top it all off, we walked past the kitchen and office area on our way out and the sheer lack of cleanliness explained everything. The order will not arrive on time, you have no idea when the order is ready for pickup from the driver nor when they have left nor when they will arrive or how far they are from arriving! The estimate from DoorDash will let you down because it won't even be close to it. I called the restaurant number multiple times. First time: was told they have a 45-60 minute window. (For what, expected wait time? Guarantee their excellent service? Nope.) Second time: It has now been over 60 minutes. Waited another five minutes to give them more time. Called back and the guy who picked up told me "they just left around 10 minutes ago" WHAT? Continued in the next section. Customer Service: The manager here is a real piece of work. She was angry as soon as she got on the phone yelling that she specifically DID NOT SAY THE WORD GUARANTEE when I asked about how long the order would take (it was way past the Door Dash arrival time when ai first called). I told her what the other employee told me. She starts hysterically yelling again, HE SAID THAT? HE REALLY SAID THAT? and I said, yea, you can put him on the phone right now and ask him. She questioned him right on the spot. I felt bad for the guy honestly. Turns out I was telling the truth. I asked her what was going on with the order because it had now been longer than 65 minutes. This was not a very good experience at all thus far. She asked me if the driver had shown up, which miraculously for them they did right at that moment (I feel bad for what would have happened to the driver if he hadn't shown up right then). She basically said "is that all?" before hanging up. Wow. Bottom Line: As a customer who frequently orders takeout on food delivery apps, I could have been a regular. No, actually the food sucked so that was never going to happen in the first place. But after dealing with this manager (in a kind and patient way btw) the complete lack of desire to provide kind service, maybe an apology, maybe even a small discount for a future order, anything? No. Don't expect anything, except yelling, anger, and a holier than thou attitude. Wow. It's called Pizza House, but they have absolutely everything on the menu you can possibly want. We ordered everything from Pizza to burgers to vegetarian sandwiches. The waitress gave us choices of soup and salads and we thought the cost would be the same. My wife's "Michigan Cherry Salad" cost an extra $3.00 on top of the listed price of $14.50. I paid $14.50 for my "House Salad and Soup. The other surprise was an "Admin Fee of 4.75% which came to $1.80. Fun place to gather as a group. Lots of space and can converse without it being too loud. Had an amazing burger. Bottom bun was soggy but other than that a delicious experience. Had a very good brunch at the Pizza Haus. I arrived around 11:00 am and was seated for a table of 4 and was promptly asked for a drink order.
