Ok I Over the past two weeks I have visited. Two weeks ago I have there lunch combo. The first sandwich was so soggy it was falling apart. So I sent it back. The second one that took for ever was worse. So ow today we thaught a second chance maybe they were just having a bad day. I ordered a 8oz sirloin. Well let me tell you ot was the worst that I have ever had. It was as thin as beef jerky and as fluff as my boot. Ok, this is Applebee's we all know what to expect but this one is different. Server was great very personable and she worked her behind off in 90deg plus heat. I just felt like everyone was on it even the woman cleaning the tables to the other woman turning on the misters at the end of our meal all of them interacted and acted like they wanted to be there. Other restaurants need to understand you can take a meal that's not going to knock your socks off but you add great service guess what it turns into a much better meal. Big disappointment in their food, Service is 4 stars. Went twice thinking the first visit may had just been a bad chef ordering the Burbon street steak with a Oreo shake. Steak laced with gristle. Second time ordered the fish and chips. One piece of cod was cold and the Prime rib dip my wife ordered was nasty, old meat and hard bread. The server Brandon was very good so we left him a good tip. Wait staff are among the best in the business and always a pleasure. Our waitress was wonderful and we instantly had drinks and she took our order. It's low-key, but fun and friendly. Great selection of food with plenty to offer for all. Had there soup, very good! And followed it with a steak, I asked for medium rare but got it well done. That was the only flaw. I ordered the Oriental Chicken Salad $12.49 and its the most disappointing salad ever. It had dried up salad mix, huge amount of dried noddles, and a few pieces of cutup kitchen tenders and NO salad dressing. Applebees in Sonora CA. Has gone steadily down hill for several years. Hadn't been to Applebees in about 5 months because the food and service both leave a lot to be desired. Gave it another shot last week. While waiting for our food, several of the Applebees staff decided to have an "after work party" so to speak. One employee in particular was very loud. Telling everyone about her "baby daddy" and how he doesn't pay child support and how she wanted a threesome because "that's how she rolls". On and on she went. Where was management???? Heck, maybe she WAS management! Very UNPROFESSIONAL atmosphere. We will never go back. read more

We ordered a curbside order to pick up. People waiting at curbside for their orders were incorrect. We went in to insure our order was correct. The burgers were cold and pink inside as we ordered them with no pink. Service was horrible. Applebee's used to be a top notch place to eat but it has gone downhill. Management needs to step up. I will not go back to this place, regardless of what is open in the area. Perkos is always down the street!! The service is slow, somewhat rude, and not very knowledgeable of food at all. First it took forever to get our orders taken, then when they finally did arrive, it was the wrong thing. This happened not once, but twice with two different individuals. Good luck getting a drink refill unless you are drinking booze. Multiple times my water & tea was empty while the guys next to me got two or three beers. The food was ok. Salad was over dressed, but the ingredients as a whole seemed fresh. The veggies were cold so had them sent back. This is your typical chain restaurant, but misses the mark on quality and service compared to other Applebees in general. Overall a dud, and I place I will avoid on future visits. read more

Seemingly enough it seems like MOST Applebees on YELP receive nearly the same rating. Right around 2-3 stars out of 5, and to be honest, this one is no diamond in the rough.. Ambiance is VERY loud, tables are cleaned poorly, and the servers are nothing special in terms of personality. I'm not one to leave a bad review, but this place needs work. And I mean that. Food is fair-middelin and thats being generous, you can taste the fact that they microwave it, and the drinks are usually watered down / flavorless. Seating can be crowded at times, and servers will ask where you would like to be seated, and than proceed to not put you there. Makes sense right? No? Been living in the Tuolumne area for quite some time, and this place has not made many changes in quite some time and I feel like their business is suffering because of it. Definitely needs improvement. Overall? Don't be afraid to pass this place up for something up the hill: The Peppery, Bi-Wok, Diamondback, etc. read more

Day 1---- absolutely the longest to go order I've ever endured. Placed the order only to have been given the run around by at least 5-6 servers before before they figured out they lost our order (30 minutes later) they finally but the order in and we waited another 25-30 min before the manager came to apologize and give us the bill... No food, just the bill... Waited another 10 min and finally out came the food. Day 2--- I'm not a glutton for punishment but I am willing to give places a second chance and that is the only reason this Applebee's gets 2 stars the young lady that helped me was very nice, friendly quick service and the good was just ok. The rest of the servers on my side of the restaurant spent their time gossiping and yapping behind me by the back register... All in all I won't go here unless I'm absolutely desperate. read more

The hostess was on point and did a great job of getting customers seated, however after being seated we waited approximately 10 mins before our server came to our table to inform us that she would be with us in a few minutes. It was a busy night, so that was understandable, though she never even bothered to ask what we'd like to drink. We waited another 10 mins and watched as she walked by us at least three times. We decided to walk out when she went to take drink orders for a couple that had been seated after us and our server never even bothered to acknowledge us as she passed us yet again. Pretty much the same as every other Applebees. Okay food, big portions, good prices. I came in on a Wednesday, no wait at all. We got buy one get one entree for $13 and both had two drinks(so four total) about $4 each(happy hour is great). Our server was friendly. Only complaint was one of us didn't get our drink until after eating, even though the drink was poured and waiting on the bar, kinda strange. read more

Unfortunately, I must repost a review of Applebee's, and it isn't favourable. My hubby and I had lunch there today. The place was packed, being Labour Day. In the past, we have always had good food and service. But our last few visits have been very poor. The last couple meals have been sub-par, both in quality and taste. Today's visit, the waitress never checked on us during our time there. It took about 30 minutes to get our food. My BLT was cold and soggy, like it had been sitting out for a while. The bacon in both our sandwiches was chewy and gross. The manager did discount our meal some, so his customer service is duly noted. It pains me that one of the few decent restaurants in Sonora had declined in quality. Such a shame, I doubt we'll be back. read more

3.5 stars, We got seated in 15 minutes quick for a Friday night. Our waitress was friendly but it did take her a while to take our order. She checked on us a good amount of time. Also the manager checked on us once also. I think its just protocol. The food is like any other applebees however I decided to try the asiago peppercorn steak and it was not so great. I asked for it to be cook medium well but it came out well done. The meat was very tough and the texture was different then meat. We also ordered the half rack of baby back ribs and it had a tint of fishy smell. Not sure if it got mixed with something but overall it wasnt too bad. I had driven here from a full day in Yosemite and was hungry. I got a grilled chicken breast combo with shrimp and green beans. Of all which was cooked perfectly. It was almost midnight and I was sleeping in my car in the Walmart car park. I had 2 different servers as the first one had finished up for the night. Both were very pleasant and professional. My fiance and I were taking his mother out for an early birthday dinner and decided to go to this Applebees since it was in the area of where she'd been staying. It wasn't too busy in the restaurant, there were plenty of tables available and not a lot of noise. I'll start off by saying that the table we got was dirty with crumbs like it hadn't been cleaned. The waitress was friendly and asked to start us off with drinks. I ordered iced tea and my fiance and his mom both ordered sodas. We ordered some appetizers, the potato twists and the Brew Pub Pretzels and beer cheese dip. We waited, and waited, and waited for our drinks and appetizers and for the waitress to come back and take our order for the entrees. The waitress finally came about fifteen minutes later with our drinks and to take our order. My fiance and his mother both said that their sodas tasted very weird. About ten minutes later, our appetizers finally came out, which tasted pretty good. Our entrees came out about fifteen minutes later. I ordered the three-cheese chicken penne pasta. It was terrible. It was so bland I had to add a ton of salt and pepper, and I am not the kind of person who likes to add salt and pepper to my food. The chicken was warm, almost cold instead of being hot. The pasta was cooked fine, but as I said, was really bland, it just didn't taste good at all. Definitely not worth the $11.49 I paid for it. My fiance's mom enjoyed her food, and my fiance thought his food was just okay. He ended up ordering a different soda and he said that it also tasted strange just a the other one had. I used to love this place, and I still really like the food. I used to love the salads here because they were BIG, and had eggs, bacon, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, etc. now it's just a little baby salad, no eggs, few tomatoes. They are going the way of the other big restaurants. Getting cheap. Service is always good here. read more

Ate here twice while on vacation. Not sure if they have AC, it was hot and sticky both nights. First night ordered 8 oz sirloin, it had 2 oz of fat on it and baked potato wasn't fully cooked. 2nd night waiter temporarily forgot about us didn't come back for about 15 mins and had to remind him I didn't have the drink I ordered yet. The rum and coke I finally got was okay, but couldn't taste the rum. Asked for chips and salsa. Got salsa, but got mostly the remnants from the bottom of the bag of chips. Steak was undercooked both nights. Also, not the quality of meat I'd expect, very chewy. This Appleby's sucks compared to others I've eaten at. read more

I went for dessert tonight with my friends. Towards the end a waitress came and asked if we wanted to try rum Jell-O shots. Once we said yes she then informed us that would be a dollar each. Nice little switch and bait there. Tried the Jell-O and there was no rum or alcohol of any kind. Flagged down the waitress and she got a little funny when we told her there was no alcohol in the shots. Tried telling us we just couldn't taste it. No such thing. There was 0% of anything other than Jell-O. Once we told her to taste the Jell-O herself, she said we wouldn't be charged for the shots. So don't get conned into buying fake stuff. Applebee's food has always been good, their prices are getting a little high, the only problem I have with them is three times now that I have been in there we have ordered appetizers after our food showed up I had to ask why we didn't get our appetizer yet, well three times now we received the appetizers after meals arrived but we were not charge for them ... I wish there was a 0 review because this restaurant would get it. We call after my daughters High School graduation last night 6-7-18 and they said they do not take reservations but they had a lot of open tables and they could take a party of 14 if we came right away. So left and drove there but they were getting pretty busy we told them we had a party of 14 they said they are clearing a table and would put another table next to it to accommodate us. At that time we were the only one waiting for a table. After about 1/2 hour I went up and said is our table ready she said almost. After another 15 minuets I said ok this is enough it's been 45 minuets we have two people that are 87 and 83 years old and very hungry. Once I said that I looked over and the manager opened the door and a BIG party walk in and took the table we have been waiting for for almost a hour. The hostess then said no your table is hear and once they order, get there food, eat it and leave you can have that table. When I questioned the manager he said there is nothing he could do we then left and went to McDonalds with a few other people that heard our story behind us. I WILL NEVER, NEVER STEP FOOT IN YOUR APPLEBEES. I plan on calling the Corporate office post this on Facebook and any other place I can think of. This is Probley one of my favorite places to just go and have a quick dinner & a cocktail. By far the WORST experience.
