I've had a meal here twice and think the staff does a great job at getting you seated, taking your order, getting food to you in a reasonable time, and taking away your empty plates and at reasonable prices. Most recently (forgot to take a photo), I ordered and enjoyed the Friday special of Fish and Fries. The coleslaw that came with it was also good. Ordered the new California Chicken Salad. We ordered it to be picked up Curbside and no one brought it out. So had to go inside and the order was there sitting on a shelf. The avocado salsa had no avocado in it, that we could tell. The salad looked like it was made hours ahead a time sitting there. It tasted better than it looked. A coworker and I decided to order out for pickup and ultimately decided to try the $25 special (one app with two dishes) and in this economy we had high hopes. We placed the order in the app, and that was basically the best part of the experience. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip to split, I ordered the Chicken Oriental Salad and my coworker ordered the burger. When I arrived to pick up our order, I was ignored by multiple employees (and I wouldn't say they were slammed) before finally being acknowledged by a server. Luckily, I don't have to wait lo by before an employee turned the corner and had our food. So that was a positive. We quickly dove into our food and right away were met with disappointment. We were both looking forward to the spinach and artichoke dip--but it was bland and gelatinous with a hint of fish. Not good. Sad, but still hungry, we moved onto our main courses. Although salad is in the title, there was very little lettuce and the included breadstick was smashed. The bonus is that plenty of dressing was included and the chicken strip was fine. My coworker asked for no pink in her burger and no onion...but I guess notes were not read? While the onion is an easy fix, the fact it was pink, not so much. We came here for dinner after a long day of yardwork. We were greeted promptly and sat by a bubbly hostess and given a wonderful server - Maddy. The restaurant has had the same vibe since the beginning of time - that of a sport bar, but it is a clean, pleasant place to eat. That brings me to the food. The pretzels are like "WOW" yummy. Although Applebees has always been a somewhat yuppie restaurant, something I'm personally not fond of, they're considerably much more. They have elements of a sports bar but not overwhelmingly so. We eat here frequently when we are looking for a good happy hour or cheaper place to eat if we are wanting drinks and food. Their actual menu pricing isn't cheap, it is about $17-$27 a person on the regular menu and we feel we can eat at a better mom and pop restaurant for that range so we come for the deals. We did the $10.99 big meal deal, just got the bacon cheeseburger and fries (comes with a soda but I didn't want one), sweet and spicy chicken sandwich with fries, and the chicken alfredo for $17. We also added the chips and white queso for an additional $3 as part of the meal deal combos and the queso had great flavor but it came out cold and it should've been warm. We also got the $6 vodka lemonade monthly drink special and that was tasty, definitely could taste the vodka but it wasn't strong (typical from corporate chain restaurants though). It was super packed in here tonight but our server Steven was on top of it, very attentive and friendly and honest with his food recommendations! The burger from here is one of my favorite food items now because they have stepped their game up here in my opinion. Happy hour is from 3-6pm amd 9-close so we just missed it by coming in at 6:30 but we also wouldn't have been able to participate since my teenager was with us and it is only good in the bar area, I think they should extend this to the whole restaurant for this reason! read more

Took the boss to lunch today.. place wasn't crowded at all.. but understaffed big time. Our waiter/bar tender/what ever took our order in a hurry. I accompanied some friends to this Applebees after we finished some church business. They highly recommended Applebees and I understand why. Great food with great atmosphere. We arrived before the "heavy" crowd arrived so we got service right away. She was not pushy and we got our food quickly (two Salmon and Double Crunch Shrimp orders and a Bourbon Steak order). It really hit the spot and was cooked just right. Our server checked on us occasionally and took care of refills on the water (oh how I would have liked a tall lemonade-maybe next time). Overall for my first time, I liked Applebees and it will now join my rotation of restaurants. I'm glad my friends asked me to dinner and sometimes that's what it takes to discover new spots. Applebee's currently has a half-price appetizer special during certain hours. We went with our daughter on Wednesday and had a wonderful time. I ordered the artichoke spinach dip and the chicken tortilla soup and they were both excellent. We repeated the trip with our son on Saturday and it was horrible! The same, artichoke spinach dip was very thin and watery. The bowl was only half full, and there was no artichoke to be found anywhere. The usually cheesy tasting sauce, was a thined down semi-creamy sauce with no cheese flavor. The table next to us had ordered the queso dip, and I heard them complaining that it was very thin and not cheesy flavored either. I can't fault the wait staff as the manager on duty came over to inquire what my complaint was, and they brought me out another container of dip which was in the same lousy condition, but at least the two together made up a full cup. On their table display, I looked at the picture of what it was supposed to look like and it was supposed to be a full cup. The restaurant was noisy and it was hard to hear our soft-spoken son. After the first trip to Applebee's, we were very favorably impressed and that's why we returned but after this time, I doubt that we will go back as the food was just not acceptable. If they're going to offer half price appetizers, they should give the same quality or not offer it at all. read more

When I got home, I got the whiskey burger and a club sandwich. Everything, including the fries were cold. I did not have time to go back to have my order corrected, so I tried the club sandwich. Came in for dinner with my husband and 3 young boys tonight after my son's football practice. I had also come in this last Saturday and had a great experience with a wonderful server, so I hate to write this review. I NEVER write reviews. I've had shitty experiences before, but never felt the need to leave a review. This time was different. I've been a bartender for the last 5+ years, so I know how things work in this industry. I have NEVER been offended by another waitress before. Not like this. As she was taking our table's drink order, she abruptly stopped and said, "I'll be right back". Fine, whatever. Maybe she was really busy and had to absolutely walk away from our table in that moment. BUT NO. She comes back to our table and says, "So, I'm not allowed to serve you alcohol if you've already been drinking. So, have you had anything to drink?". We were taken aback by this, seeing as we had our three young children with us and came in after flag football practice. Not only were we taken aback, we said, "no, we just came here from flag football and haven't been drinking." And just like that she said "ok great, so what did you want to order for drinks?" Just like that she was ready to serve us, like she was just going to take our word for it. We could have been totally lit and tried to lie about it, but it didn't matter how we responded, she just took our word for it. So not only was this incredibly rude and not ok, she was a dumb idiot about it. I wanted to leave immediately, but we had hungry 10, 7, and 5 year old boys with us. Never going back, because Kerry made us feel unwelcome and awkward when we hadn't done anything wrong. I've never felt more judged or unwelcome at any restaurant ever. Shame on her. Seriously. Not only that, but my husband left his wallet there. So when we went back 20 minutes later to get it, they were incredibly rude and unwelcoming. This Applebees is close to our house and we really wanted to like it. We have gone there several times, but they're irredeemable. First, the food is awful. The picture I took of my burger pretty much speaks for itself. The patty is very, very greasy, the cheese is melted but cold, and the vegetables are obviously cooked ahead of time and they taste like rubber. Second, this restaurant hasn't changed the decor in at least a decade. Everything looks old, dated, and dingy. Finally, I was hoping that the service would be better this time, but no, it's the same old, slow service we've had before. The food was great, the service was sub par, our waitress Joan K, she was kind when we first were seated but upon realizing she was caring for a queer couple she quickly started avoiding all eye contact, did not ask us about refills and didn't ask if we wanted dessert or if we were done she just walked by and handed us our bill once it had been a little bit of us having our food. I get if you don't like gay people but if you're gonna have micro aggressions and not even talk or look at us besides saying thank you when you grabbed the receipt after we paid, just ask someone else to take your table, it was my wedding anniversary and to have to deal with the micro aggressions was a lot while trying to not seem upset and not ruin the mood of my anniversary. My advice for her would be if you're that uncomfortable give the table away or figure out how to move on from the feelings and treat your customers with respect because I watched with other tables, I saw her interact and chat and look them in the eyes and even turn to talk to them when they started talking even though I was in the middle of handing my card over to pay.
