Turlock on a Friday night is busier than many towns in southern California. Desperate for a place that would fit the dietary needs of different generations. We choose Applebees there was a long wait. Thank goodness for the BAR! The staff and our wait staff were one of the best, very attentive and made sure we took advantage of the menu deals with our table of 6 persons. My son chose Applebee's tonight for his birthday dinner. Victor was our server and he did a good job, even with them being understaffed. We started out with the triple dip chips appetizer. They were good, but the cheese seemed to have been sitting out for a while as it was not warm whatsoever. The salsa was so so but they guacamole was very good. I had the Bourbon Street chicken and shrimp and I really enjoyed it! The chicken was moist, the shrimp were cooked great and the onions and mushrooms were great! The garlic mashed potatoes were good too! My wife had the broccoli chicken alfredo and she enjoyed it. We shared a drink called the Shark Bowl. It was good, but super, super sweet. We couldn't even taste the alcohol in it. That annoys me. Don't give me a watered down sugar drink with just a splash of alcohol in it. I don't need to get snockered with my drink, but I at least want to taste some alcohol in it if I purchase an adult beverage. It appears they may have done away with their happy hour for now. I could be wrong, but we were charged full prices for things I thought were happy hour specials. We were only a party of two and it we were told it was over a 10 min wait to be seated? Why? Tables were available, hardly anyone was there. When you pull up the person that has placed you on hold is outside serving curve side customers. When you walk in the location the phone is sitting on the table off the hook and two employees including a manger is standing there texting and having a conversation. Ordered food online through Applebee's website for delivery and was shorted on a big part of my over $100 order and neither door dash or Applebee's would bring me the food that was missing. I was told by Applebee's to contact door dash myself cus they wouldn't do it and I didn't even have a way to contact them. Once the driver got here they let me know that they weren't going back to get it and when I contacted Applebees about it I was told that I would get a credit back to my card for the missing items but so far nothing! This is by far the worst place or even Applebees ever, Applebees was my favorite since years and now it's falling out for me especially at the Turlock location definitely not how it should be anymore. Customer service is by far the worst here. I was told I would get charge for the sauce that comes with the wontons when I received it, the sauce wasn't even near half way full mind you it was even in those small black containers then I got told I won't end up being charged for it. The employees took forever to help me at my table. Had my food cold sitting. I Didn't get no napkin or silverware, I had to get up to go ask the talkative employees in the corner after waiting. Arrived as they were opening. 11:00AM We were first seated in a booth that had broken down seating. Absolutely no padding. We asked to be moved and were told many of the seats cushions were broken down. However the server did find us a booth that was better. The only problem was there were cobwebs in the corners of the window. Of course the window was filthy. Light fixture above our table was filthy as were all the other light fixtures in our view. Ordered curbside here for the first time this year, and very satisfied with my he whole experience. Everything to the app and the pick up process was very easy and seamless. Ordered for whole family and easy to pick and choose what toppings or no toppings you want on each order. I drove up and called the restaurant and didn't have too. I think a large part of the reason for my tasteless rubbery meal was striving to order something healthy on the menu. I scanned the menu hard trying to find a dish without dairy and too much meat. I opted for the Teriyaki Shrimp Pasta. Big mistake. The noodles were overcooked and cold. Most of them stuck together. The vegetables lacked taste and while the shrimp were tasty enough - I still had trouble digesting them. Tiny little pink things - hidden amongst the bleh of the rest of the dish. Pretty disappointed with our experience last night. We waited about 45 minutes to be seated because apparently our name got crossed off the list. When we finally seated I ordered a margarita with extra salt on the rim. When I got my glass there was salt on maybe a 1/4 of the rim. I asked our server if he could get more salt on it, he brought it back with salt all over the actual glass, not just the rim. Even our food wasn't the best. I had a big lettuce butt in my salad. This Applebee's has all the same fair as the rest, no surprise. It is clean and the food is Ok. The reason for the three stars is it seems when I have been to other locations the same dishes are often better and the wait times to receive your food is much shorter. Perhaps management could do some quality control. I will return and hope some improvements in the food and wait times can improve. The Won Ton Tacos are great! read more

Which is a shame because the service is usually pretty good, they have a full bar, and the place has a laid back comfortable feel. During my most recent visit here, I had the ribs, they were a little on the dry side and not as tender as I like. I myself work at two restaurants as a server and I know very well what good customer service is. I would even be happy with a 'decent' service but wow! To start this off, we were never greeted properly. Never heard a 'hello' from the waitress, all she said was "I'll be with you guys in just a second" while literally just walking by, meaning we barely heard her. Yes, she was busy. But all her tables had gotten their food so I couldn't understand what the chaos was all about. Second of all, two of our drinks were wrong, one of them being mine. I specifically asked for a mango margarita but was brought a lime margarita. Not to mention, the host (Ronnie, super friendly and great service) was the one who brought our drinks and the bartender (McKenzie) brought my drink which I said was the wrong one and she started giving me all these excuses, insisting that it was actually "mango" flavored. I went ahead and said it was lime and all I got as a response was an eye roll and she simply walked away. Long story short, I spoke with the manager and he said he'd have a talk with her, not sure if that even happened. Also, usually as a manager, if one of your tables has that much trouble because of your employees, you'd think to maybe comp an item, offer a desert, or try to at least make it up to them, but we also did not receive that courtesy. read more

While snacking on the chips and the cold dip, we were enjoying their beers! They have a variety and it's pretty cheap! The wings and shrimp were tasty but not the best!
