I'm from out of town and I wanted something good and quick. We chose Memo's based on the reviews. We (my daughter and I) sat outside since it was noisy and loud inside. Our server came out and brought us water and the first thing he said was his hair was a mess due to the wind(It was kind of windy that day). I didn't care what he looked like I just wanted good service. He too a long time to come back and take our food order. He was not friendly, he didn't smile. He only directed his attention to my daughter not both of us. He took our order, didn't offer any suggestions or ask if we wanted a margarita or soda or anything to drink. The atmosphere here is wonderful, and the customer service is consistently excellent. Magdaleno is incredibly attentive--he checks on us the perfect amount, not too little and not too often. He asks thoughtful questions and offers great menu suggestions, and he's taken the time to learn our preferences. I'm a picky eater and usually order the same "safe" dishes, but Magdaleno has encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone. Because of him, I even tried fish (which I normally don't eat!) and ended up loving the Mahi Mahi. We've also tried several vegetarian dishes, and I'm always impressed--I find myself saying "mmm" more times than I can count. I planned a family dinner at Memo's to celebrate my daughter's engagement. Our party consisted of eight people, including two children. I called on Friday to make a reservation for the following evening and was told that reservations are only accepted for parties of ten or more. Although I would have made other arrangements at that point, I was then told that if I called about 30 minutes before arriving, they could put us on a waitlist and have a table ready. I was grateful for that option and followed those instructions. However, when I called 30 minutes before our arrival, the person who answered said they did not offer that option and implied that I had been misinformed. We were told they were fully booked and could not accommodate us. At that point, it was too late to find availability at other restaurants. This was meant to be a special dinner to celebrate my daughter's engagement, and unfortunately, it was disrupted due to conflicting information and lack of accommodation. My mom wanted to go here for the tequila because we were celebrating but as usual, cute places don't have the best food. The atmosphere was nice with good Latin music (reggaeton which is my favorite). We were seated quickly and they weren't too busy but our waiter didn't check on us as much as we would have liked. We got the breakfast burrito which was good but we didn't eat the rice or beans because they seemed heated up. I didn't like their green salsa either but the complimentary chips and salsa includes a delicious red salsa and beans that were really tasty. I got the guava French toast (not pictured, sorry) and it was more like little French toast sandwiches with cream cheese in the middle. It would have been better if the French toast bread was cooked or toasted a little longer, instead it was soggy My mom got the avocado toast (also not pictured) and was not a fan. She took one bite and didn't want it. I knew I wouldn't like from the description on the menu. She tried to send it back but they said she had to pay for it still. Not my normal experience but that's the restaurants choice. The margarita flight is actually secret menu but just know it's $32. It's plenty to drink but I only liked 2 out of the 4. Peach and guava were good. The tamarind had a chipotle rim that I didn't like and the drink itself tasted watered down. I've had better tamarind margaritas. Then we get a flight we thought they were the margaritas but then were a 5 de mayo flight. We let the server know and she asked if it was ok to leave them (mind you we didn't think we would be charged) well guess what we were charged and manager refused to take it off the table. Immediately blamed the server. When he was the one who brought them to us.. and he wasn't the only one giving us the wrong drinks. He said he couldn't comp the drinks because it was illegal. Wow. This place has gone downhill MAJORLY in the last few years. The food wasn't good, period. The burrito had peas and carrots in it, and when we complained that it was gross they asked if we wanted to try something different. The waiter proceeded to tell us all the food here sucks and we were wasting our time. He then replaced the weird burrito with a better dish (thankfully) and charged us for that dish and the burrito that was taken back. Came here with my boyfriend and our friend last night. I have not been feeling well but decided to cheer up & grab something to eat since it is my birthday (01/03). It was not busy at all there was about two other tables in the entire place. We ordered the molcajete to share and then I ordered a house salad with lemon basil vinaigrette. The Dish was really good but I ended up not liking the dressing for the salad so I politely asked for a side of the avocado dressing instead. The waiter who I think was the manager, never came back once during our entire meal. This is a huge red flag as a food industry worker myself. We ate our entire meal with no refills or the dressing that I asked for so the salad just sat in front of me for the entire dinner. We sat for almost 30 more minutes after we finished everything (except the poor salad). The waiter finally decided to come back over and ask if I wanted a refill & my boyfriend reminded him about the dressing. When he did come back i had to rush to eat it because we were already full & paying the bill. My boyfriend told him it was my birthday and he looks at us and WORD FOR WORD says "are you guys gonna buy her something??" With the dirtiest look on his face and said " we don't do anything for birthdays unless you're going to purchase something" and completely walks away, it was really the cherry on top of my day. We left no tip I couldn't believe how rude he was and I was extremely disappointed in the service- also who doesn't do anything for birthdays? Came here during happy hour between lunch and dinner. This place is a really nice modern looking building that has really cool interior designs. We were met right away by a nice waitress that brought us to our table. She recommended the Mezcal drink of the day and it was really delicious, I believe it was the El Nopal! They brought out chips with three types of dish that were very tasty! The kids ordered a burrito and a taco off the kids menu which they enjoyed. Just wish the taco and burrito included like lettuce and sour cream and stuff. You have to be very specific on what you want on your kids stuff or it will be plain with just meat. My wife ordered the Mahi mahi a la crema and I got the Milanesa de pollo con Camarones. Both dishes were so delicious! I'm just so mad because I forgot to grab our To-Go box with our leftovers!
