Amazing service from when we walked in to when we left. I got the all you can eat mix and match, and all of the food was amazing

My wife and I order two 8oz steaks with mashed potato's and broccoli (to-go) about once a month. We always order the steaks medium, and about a quarter of the time they're right on. However, these last 3 visits were so appallingly bad that I'm actually writing my 2nd or 3rd Yelp review ever, so that hopefully management can address the issue. Last month the steaks were so rare that I actually had to pan-fry them to be safe. And the last two visits I think they forgot they were on the grill. There's well done and there's beef jerky. I worked for Applebees in CA years ago, so I understand grill chefs can get busy, but they should be able to temp a steak, or at least get close. I don't care if my steak is slightly rare or a little over. Most of the time we're fine with whatever we get, but the last 3 visits have just been awful. I wish I would have taken pictures. The service there is always very polite and professional and the restaurant is clean and inviting. But the steaks...fix the steaks. Lastly, please stop wasting ketchup. 15 packets of ketchup for 2 entrees that don't require any is such a waste. I guess some people probably ruin their steaks with ketchup, but that's 8 packets of ketchup for 1 steak! The amount of ketchup packets we have accumulated from there over the last year is comical. I doubt management reads their Yelp reviews but it's worth the shot. If so, thank you for for taking the time. read more

So sad, This is typically my go to spot when idk what I want for dinner. Was super excited to go tonight. Didn't recognize any of the staff, I typically go on weekends(it's a Thursday). Today we got seated and then watched others that got seated after us get their order taken before us. My fiancé and I got too frustrated after sitting there watching it happen for over 20 minutes without even getting our drink order taken. Very disappointed. read more

I went with my wife Cynthia to enjoy a couple of beers for our anniversary. As we entered the restaurant, I knew the atmosphere was off, but our evening at this place was going fine; I ordered a steak with a side of mashed potatoes. The waiter was friendly, and the food came quickly. As we started to eat, though, my food wasn´t that good, to be honest... My steak wasn't medium rare; it was well done. My wife's burger was raw and not cooked correctly. I was annoyed, but the server was so kind and caring that I couldn't be mad at her. I have gone to this location for lunch a few times and the bartender is never smiling and appears disinterested in the customers. I ordered soup and the bread sticks as an ap. I received the bread sticks first and one of them was cold. She never asked how they were and I had to tell her when she was not busy filling straws and napkins that it was cold. She did offer to replace the order but as it was only one small section so I declined. Once I was finished I had to ask for my bill. I get my original bill, I review and then give her my credit card. The credit card bill was not for my order. I had to point this out. She then reran my bill on my credit card and she put the receipt in front of me never explaining that she needed my card again to process my order. I then had to ask her if she needed my card again and she said yes. This bartender does not belong in the service industry. She has no interest in customer service and seems afraid to even interact with customers. I know it is hard to find help but she is scaring customers away. I will never go back there for lunch again. Every time I come to this Applebee's, something never fails to go wrong. I've ordered a chicken sandwich that didn't come with chicken, etc. You would think it can only go up from there, but it doesn't. I frequently get the one server who is oblivious to the 'time factor'I will call it. They forget to take your order, they forget to bring your check, they forget to ask if you need anything else, like when an extra person shows up at your table and they might need to order in the same hour as their tablemates... sigh. Because I have had orders that have been messed up in any number of different ways, I ordered the tomato soup with no croutons. I was sketchy, and you bet I should've been because the first thing that came out was a bowl of soup with croutons. I ordered two things for myself on my own check, and the other thing was a drink. I feel like this really shouldn't have failed on so many levels. You're asking yourself why the heck did I come back here? Good question. I came here because my parents have much better luck eating here than I do. My mom likes the steak and my dad likes the lemon chicken tips. Both of those looked fair, but the green beans were soggy and they tried to compensate by over seasoning. Anyhow, I gave the place two stars because the soup wasn't terrible once they finally brought out the second bowl with no croutons. Also, they do tend to keep this store clean, and that is worth one star right there. read more

I always believe in providing feedback whether it be negative or positive and at times these days it seems there tends to be more negative feedback. However I am happy to say this time I'm sharing some well deserved positive feedback. Had an unfortunate experience last night with late night pick up of food and called to share it with the manager, Chris. Fries were cold and so were the burgers on both orders. Actually the burgers were to be no pink and both were brown on the outside and borderline raw inside. Needless to say we only took 2 bites of the burgers and fries and threw them out. Luckily we got boneless wings which were perfect and surprisingly very hot. Without any argument or excuses Chris profusely apologized about the quality of food and made it right. He even went above and beyond to show how sorry he was for the ordeal. Chris, the level of customer service you provided was off the charts. Most places nowadays are very defensive and combative and don't care or realize that just saying sorry and hey we screwed up and we are going to make it right is worth it's wait in gold. Without a doubt you instantly showed that you care about your customers and Applebee's should be proud to have you on their management team. This location never fails to mess up our meals! We've tried them several times over the past few years and they never fail to disappoint. Items are either grossly over cooked or they "forget " to bring out 1 meal until well after everyone else has eaten. Do yourself a favor...go eat elsewhere. read more

I usually never complain about my meals, but this time I had to. I had found a big piece of hard plastic in my broccoli. The service was terrible too. we never even got the appetizer that we had ordered. the bathroom was a total mess too. at least my meal was taken off off the bill, but the appetizer we never got was still on it. Applebee's sits right along the retail district of Rte. 20 (East Main Street) leading out of Westfield towards West Springfield, MA. It's one of those major national chain eateries where you know what to expect before walking in the door. Soups, salads, bar appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, paninis, wraps, seafood, steaks, chicken, ribs, pasta, and Weight Watchers'-approved meals decorate the menu. It's a little bit of everything along with a full bar for after work. I was there for lunch and took advantage of their lunch combo special -- French Onion soup and the Grilled Shrimp 'n Spinach Salad. Nice and light, and certainly affordably priced. It was a quick meal, and much preferred over a greasy fast food joint. This particular Applebee's is popular with the local college crowd from Westfield State College, and the bar area does get a bit rowdy later at night. As with other Applebee's there are lots of TV's in the bar area tuned to various sports channels. Pleasant servers and good food. read more

Didn't have any issues yet but things here and there need improvement. Sometimes whatever on the menu looks delicious but when it comes to the table it looks like its been sitting for couple days. Their wings are ok. Bourbon street chicken or stake is good. My personal favorite is the French onion soup. I tried their steak and it was ok. Four mac and cheese is also not bad. read more

We ordered take out tonight, and once we got home discovered a missing kids meal. I called and was sent to the manager (I did not ask), he immediately apologized and said he packed himself and said he felt awful. He offered a gift card, and dessert which was unnecessary. When I returned to get the meal, I was greeted by the girl who brought out the first order and she again apologized and said her manager apologized again, very sweet. They doubled the kids meal as well. The staff in Westfield went way above beyond for a very honest mistake. I didn't expect anything other than what we ordered. Was in the area and needed a quick lunch after driving for 2 hours. Service: 4-stars Was actually surprised. It had been a while since my last visit to an Applebee's but this experience was actually a good one. Food: 3-stars It's corporate food... but the portions were good and the food was tasty. As long as the cook staff can follow the pictures on the wall it's hard to mess up the food Price: 2-stars Nearly $40 after tip for lunch for two. OUCH We didn't even order the expensive entree's or drinks from the bar. If this had been for dinner it wouldn't have been as big a deal, but would have expected a dinner sized portion. read more

Poor service mediocre food Meals for some guest were forgotten in part and in whole. Some of the orders were not cooked properly. Meals do not come with drinks (a soft drink will run an extra $3) however meal prices are not any less. The food is very salty (undoubtably to get you to order more drinks). Why only this number here's why-first the starter was ordered the waitress didn't check the soup completely to make sure the soup was ready so the manager had to inform me this (I ordered a black-bean soup but due to the slip I had to do a chicken tortilla one), the mozzarella sticks were okay but the marinara sauce was not too best & the burger they forgot to put the ketchup on the stuff & to boot forgot the fries. My nachos are really soggy but even though my nachos are really soggy they're are really delicious. The potato skins were. Almost as much as the potato skins. The food is alright, but definitely over priced. A family of four people will cost you about $60 to $70, and that's without appetizers or soft drinks. I would understand this pricing if the food was fancy or top of the line, but instead I found it comparable to Friendly's. If you want mid-level food in a sports bar/family restaurant type of place, just go to the 99 restaurant, they at least have free popcorn! read more

Extremely friendly bartenders where I ate. The chicken was cooked well, but the portions are miniscule. I am having to give one star because of Ethiopian portions. I even got the garden bar because I was hungry and I had one solid salad plate, but I ended up hungry later at the hotel. Again, the bartender gal was extremely nice but the portions sizes (and this is a company-wide thing now at Applebee's it seems) have been shrunk horribly. And then with one beer and garden bar I got a $34 check before the tip. read more
