I will not be back to the wood n tap after being served an extremely spongey & strangely spiced bison burger. Fries were good but very salty. I asked for med rare and what I was served was something else entirely. The dull spices put a damper on the burger and it got worse the more I ate. Still edible, and I was hungry, but not something I would pay money for again. I make bison burgers at home and there is no need for it to have the flavor or texture that I was served. The burger was not recommended by my waitress but I still wanted to try it, as its not everyday Bison is available here in CT. My passion fruit/watermelon/peach drink was very good. Service was also okay, waitstaff was nice. It felt chaotic as hosts were running around and shouting concerns to each other throughout the restaurant. They seemed to have a shortage of menus and several people training/frequently unattended host stand despite several hosts working constantly doing other tasks including running food to the takeout area(why didnt the takeout counter do this themselves when they had 3 people standing around yet the host line was very busy?). It gave a weird vibe as a customer to be in the middle of all that. Waitstaff checked on me a few times and I appreciated the level attention on a busy night. The steaks looked like what you would get at a fast-casual 99 restaurant. Quality really does not justify price for me here. I would head into windsor, granby, hartford, agawam, any other nearby town if you are looking for a good meal. read more

Came here for Dinner while passing through the area - familiar with Farmington location. Food was good per usual, somewhat slow - took about an hour to get our dinners. The new potato wedges are delicious, if you like dinner potato's it's a must have! Hope they keep on the menu! Farmington has a much nicer feel and vibe, but was nice to see this location still has a large patio for the summer. Will come back if ever back in the area! read more

This was my second trip to Wood-n-Tap and it was just as enjoyable. I have a gluten allergy so I tried the gluten-free fish and chips. It was excellent. Light and fluffy. The french fries were very good as well. The service was excellent at lunchtime. There was a good crowd. I recommend! read more

Walked in and sat right at the bar. Noticed the dirty rag smell from the sanitizer buckets, I've worked in the industry so I do in fact know exactly what the smell is. I ordered the filthy dirty martini that was advertised with blue cheese stuff olives. I did not get stuffed olives but they were large, green and delicious nonetheless. Our bartender was knowledgeable about the gf items on the menu and said we're in good hands eating here. My husband has celiacs and I'm just gluten sensitive and neither of us had any issues whatsoever. We enjoyed the buffalo chicken dip, steak frites and a seafood platter that was fried fried fried! This is a scratch kitchen so everything is made to order and so much of the menu can be made gf. Highly recommend to those with this allergy/sensitivity. They had several large tvs all playing something different which I enjoyed. The playlist was from the 2010s and it was fire! Really surprised to see this restaurant is rated below 4 stars -- came here for lunch and both I and the company I was with thought the food was absolutely delicious. I got a chicken taco bowl and got to taste a bit of their grilled Atlantic salmon as well. Had to wait maybe 15 minutes for our orders to come out, but really no complaints at all about the food itself, the seasoning was great, and a side of sweet potato fries that I ordered was delicious as well. Service was good, atmosphere and decor was nice and had a cozy, modern feel. I'll certainly be back. read more

Big fans of WnT but this location was a bit of a letdown. The patio is GORGEOUS with a full outdoor bar, but that's about where the dazzle ends. The food was lackluster compare to other locations. The buffalo chicken wrap is my favorite (possibly my favorite from anywhere) and it was super dry, not enough buffalo, and no ranch. One of my favorite things about this wrap is they use crumbled blue cheese and ranch dressing and it's perfection! Definitely a bummer... maybe it was an off day. Server was very sweet but everything took long to come out, and my friend added vodka to a mocktail but it didn't taste like there was any. read more

Went in Wednesday had Emma for a waitress. She was absolutely wonderful. Fast very attentive always checking on us noticed she was like that with all her tables. It was a joy to have a friendly knowledgeable attentive waitress. She answered every question we had with a smile. Will not be returning to this location. Unfortunately even with the beautiful patio- time and time again we are left disappointed. I waited to update this review after my 2nd bad experience but this latest one was absolutely horrendous. For one- in the middle of the week in the afternoon we were waiting to be seated out on the patio for over 25 minutes. I'm really not sure what the hold up was at all and not one staff member came up to us to let us know any updates. Once we were seated we ordered drinks. My coworker is allergic to triple sec so she ordered the skinny margarita. When it came out it looked so syrupy she was afraid to drink it thinking it had triple sec in it. She asked the waitress and she just said this is what you ordered and walked away. (Mind you it looked exactly like a regular house margarita another coworker ordered- usually skinny margs are lighter). She was still hesitant so another waitress walked by and she asked her about it and she was very nice and said she would have it remade for her. Now this is the worst part. Another coworker had to leave early so he asked for his check. His bill on the check said 19.99. He handed his credit card with the bill to our server and when the waitress came back the bill now said $358!!! And his last four digits were on the slip so it was definitely his card that went through. Where did that number even come from?! He waited for our waitress but due to how long everything took she never came around while he was freaking out. He went to the manager inside and all they did was return the $358 and STILL made him pay for his meal. This is crazy to me. This was not a measly $10 mistake this was over $300! How dare management not give him a discount or offer a gift card or something. Now he will never return and neither will our 15+ person party! On top of this- our food took over 2 hours to come out. Again this is in the middle of the day in the afternoon! Not a weekend!! It is so unfortunate because we always liked to come here for the patio, food and drinks. Recently started going back and gave them a second chance. Love the chicken nachos! Tricia is super sweet and whenever I come in she always remembers my order! (I am now a regular) The food is always fresh and if you go there during happy hour, the nachos are half price which is amazing. The music is always great. The inside was nicely decorated and it was nice and cool on a hot and humid July afternoon. The service was excellent with multiple water refills and constantly clearing plates, as well as people checking on my table and asking about the food. I don't understand why this place only has 3 stars. Ambiance was great, we sat outside and it was really nice. Food was very very good. We have the spicy tuna crispy rice, the fried calamari and I had the Thai salad with grilled shrimp. It was excellent. My daughter ordered the spicy macaroni and cheese meal and I swear it was probably some of the best macaroni and cheese I have ever tasted. It was going to be a very cold night so we called ahead to make sure igloo would still be warm and were assured we would be fine. So toasty warm for about 15 min. Then getting colder and colder. Finally waitress came and got manager who tried to fix it for 15 min as we froze. Got it working for another 5-10 min. Then it broke again. We asked to go inside but were assured it would be up and running soon. We were FREEZING!! Food was delivered and of course was immediately cold because it had to be 30 degrees in igloo. Grilled cheese that was congealed, lukewarm soup. GROSS. They finally admitted they couldn't get it to work and wanted to move us to another igloo despite us asking once again to move inside. We were assured the new igloo would warm up within 10 minutes. It did not it was also broken. We were frozen, had to pick up and move our own food to the new igloo. And finally demanded to be moved inside we all carried our own food inside and were told we will be given free dessert for our trouble. Just wanted to go home and get warm so askedfor some other compensation. We did not want dessert. Said they would comp for us a free round drinks. They of course comped the rounds where only four of the six of us got a beer as opposed to the six martinis we initially ordered. Calm atmosphere with an open dining room and bar seating area. Looks like there's also separate dining rooms so the restaurant is larger than what it looks from the outside. Came here twice for lunch with a group of about 6-7 and had great experiences both times. I ordered the Bison burger and parmesan tots my first visit, a steak salad my second visit. The bison burger was cooked to my liking, good size, and not too messy. While the tots were good, I'm not sure what they put on them for the parmesan flavoring but I would prefer the regular tots next time. The steak salad was very delicious. Perfectly cooked steak, well portioned other ingredients and the sauce was the perfect amount. Overall, a solid dining experience both times for lunch. Service was great both times and you can pay through QR code if you need. Prices are as you would expect for 2023, but plates come out in decent sized portions. read more

I've been on a tour de burger around Enfield lately, but I've yet to give out 5 stars, the quality seems to have dropped compared to pre pandemic time. This is my 3rd trip to Wood-n-tap, I ordered Bison burger every time, it's that good I've not tried anything else, so the 5 star is for the Bison burger only. My medium-well burgers were fresh, tender, & tasty, handily beat out the only other Bison burger in town, the Country Diner where the Bison burger didn't taste as fresh. The patty looks about twice as thick as the 5 guys burger, taste better, more juicy & less cholesterol, what more can one ask for? It also beat out my previous fav. Burger at Red Robin, the burger was rather tasteless during my recent visit. read more

Wow, whada burger, one of the very best I've had, it was perfectly cooked medium-rare, juicy and seriously totally delectably delicious. The food here is excellent. We first visited on a busy Friday night. It is a large space in a large parking lot, and nothing about the first impression suggests a great meal. But we had a great meal. I had grilled swordfish from the seasonal menu. The fish was tasty and well prepared. The mushroom taragon rice and the grilled asparagus were surprisingly tasteful. I sampled my wife's Caesar salad. I have grown used to lackluster Caesars at similar restaurants. This one was excellent. The dressing exploded with flavor, and the crisp lettuce and luxuriously shaved parmesan conveyed it well. I have eaten at this location a few times. Last night was very disappointing. Granted it was a weeknight but that should not matter. A few months ago, I ate at the Farmington location and ordered the same thing (and so did my son). To start we had the Thai flavored wings. They were excellent. Dinner not so much. My son had the filet mignon medallions. Ordered medium but were well done. I had the bourbon sirloin. All I can say was my cut of steak was not sirloin, it had to be tri-tip or flank steak. Maybe they are technically sirloin cuts, I don't know. The sides for both of our meals were asparagus and smashed potatoes with onion straws. The asparagus was good. Actually the best part of my meal. I am not one to complain at a restaurant because of food quality or service and basically give a place the one shot. I will be back at a Wood n Tap but definitely not the Enfield location. read more

Wish we hadn't Got the fish and chips (which were actually shoestring fries) fish was cooked a little to long , a long but extremely thin piece of fish. Batter was heavily saturated with grease like it wasn't cooked at a high enough temp and was also cooked a little to long. Wife's chop house steak salad was equally disappointing. The beef was chewy and of low quality. Portion was exceptionally small for a $20 salad. Topped with onion straws and there was maybe three slivers of the onion straws. Wife stated she would need to have dinner when we got home. Daughters burger although she said it was tasty it was also small and clearly just a food service company provided burger. I had heard so many good things about this small chain, that I was really looking forward to lunch with my friend, Dan. We arrived at 12:30 and were prompted seated. Our server took our drink order.....FIVE MINUTES LATER, she returned w/o our drinks. My Stella draft - they were out of...Dan's coke - the machine needed to be refilled. I switched to water, Dan stayed with coke as our server indicated that she would be able to get the coke. Over 4 minutes later, our server came back with the water and the coke, and asked (incredulously) "Are you ready to order?" After another long wait, the food arrived. The french fries were room temp (should have sent them back). The cheeseburger was good, definitely not worth $13.99 for a preformed patty. Dan agreed about the fries, mentioned his bacon burger was good. There are numerous pubs and taverns in the greater Enfield area that serve better burgers at a more reasonable price. What was unfortunately way too much salad dressing in the salad that overpowered the flavor with a strong vinegar that ruined the meal. My friend and I were meeting up for lunch and wanted to try something different or at least a new place to us. I would say that the staff was attentive and friendly and took care of whatever we needed. We ordered the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls and spinach and artichoke dip as appetizers. Both had a good flavor. The dip was a bit thicker than I've seen that style of dip anywhere else but I assumed it must be the way they do it here. I ordered the lamb harissa burger. The lamb was great, perfectly cooked, soft and very juicy. The sauce in the burger is quite a bit spicy, so not for the faint of heart. I also ordered a side of fried Brussels sprouts, which I have to say were good but a little sour from the pickled onions they were topped with and they were served in a small bowl in which they kind of sat in their juice. They weren't bad, I just think I expected them to be crispier since it said they were fried. My husband ordered a primavera pasta dish, which came with veggies in it and he added chicken. My friend went with a salad that comes with fried balls of goat cheese. The only thing I would say was a little uncomfortable was that as we were finishing up, another girl who worked there but was not our waitress came around about 3 times and it looked like she was really trying to rush us out although it was early afternoon on a Sunday and there was plenty of seating around. She even mentioned at the end after we'd payed but were just chatting as we finished our drinks, "you guys are all set to head out of you want." Awful generic food. We had nachos, she had a Mac n cheese flatbread. The kiddo had a burger. Food was Way overpriced nachos were the standout but $20 for nachos is silly. Service was perfectly adequate. This place is hit or miss. We love going for the seasonal cocktails, and have a great beer menu with mostly local beers. I also enjoy going for "tappy hour" for good deals.. i do like going in summer when the outside tiki bar is open but tappy hour is not outside :-/ After going a handful of times for dinner we have learned to not go Sundays. The restaurant is slow, and for whatever reason the food always comes out cold. On Fridays and Saturdays when it's busy the food is always on point. Despite having a 40 minute wait, and they will not add you to the list unless you're in person.. the only time worth going for food is Friday or Saturday dinner. read more

I went here for my 19th birthday. We got half rack of ribs, Buffalo chicken wrap, French onion soup and a yummy crisp Caesar salad. The ribs were moist and fell right off the bone and were crisp on the outside. All the staff was super friendly when I had a couple requests for them they had no issue helping.
