Got a grilled chicken salad, and Quesadilla for Carry-Out. They forgot to put a fork and napkins in my bag, by the time I stopped to find a plastic fork somewhere and then got to my destination my salad was nasty since the grilled chicken was put on the salad instead of on the side. (Most places put in a seperate container for this very reason) Cheese was melted, lettuce warm and mushy....... $21 for crap food, and a $4 tip for not throwing napkins and a fork in my bag... I ate here about a month ago and the food sucked but Yelp search for Open Now said that this was the only thing open within proximity so I was going to give their kitchen an opportunity to redeem their image. Unfortunately I arrived at 11:03 pm still 57 minutes prior to what their Yelp ad said was closing time was (12:00 am). Well I may have to revise this review or do another later. I usually like Applebee's and I hope they aren't all like this. Last night (5-17-2013) at about 6:40 p.m. I arrived. I was by myself. I was told there would be about a 10 min. wait. Well anyway, I think it was less than that. They had asked me if I wanted to sit at the bar but I said No. Maybe I should have. Anyway- I was sat at a table and had to ask them to dry it. It took a while for my waitress to get to me. (It was a Friday night and very busy). I finally got my order in and then had to wait about 20 mins- half an hour for it to come out. I also ordered Sweetened Iced tea. I received that but it had no lemon. I then asked my waitress (when she finally came by again) to please bring me some lemon. Then I asked her again about 10 mins. later. Finally after about another 5-10 mins. she finally brings it. The tea was WAY TOOOOO SWEET! I later asked for some unsweetened and mixed the two to make it just right. The manager kept coming by but never acknowledged me or asked me how everything was. He seemed to be focused on this table across from me as they ordered a lot of food and drinks. I guess since I am a single woman, I can go scratch! :( And the waitress seem to take for ever to get back to me. She did seem to be waiting on a lot of tables though. When I finally got my food, it wasn't what I ordered. I had ordered the Oriental Chicken Salad with GRILLED chicken NOT the fried chicken!!! It was too late and I was too hungry to wait another 20-30 mins for them to make another one. It was good but not what I had ordered!! When I left the one of the girls asked me how everything was. I said SO-SO. She could tell I wasn't happy. She asked if I wanted to speak with the manager and I told her No. I was too upset at that point. Besides, he apparently didn't care or he wouldn't have acknowledged me earlier. I guess since I was by myself, he figured I wasn't worth his time. As I probably wasn't going to be spending a lot of money. Today I did call and complain though and was told that he (the manager I spoke with) would speak with the manager from last night and make sure this kind of thing didn't happen again. He also promised to treat me to an entré on him. He said he would personally make sure it was cooked right as he used to be a cook at one of the Applebee's for 17 years. So perhaps I will have lunch there sometime but sure not going there again on a Friday night!! read more

The worst experience I've ever had. Absolutely terrible service. My friend ordered well over 100 dollars worth of food and drinks, not only did we wait for over 25 minutes for our drinks but they were served in hot glasses. Then I was accused of gay bashing by the manager and asked to leave. We still hadn't received our food and when they finally brought it to us it was short like 20 wings. When I asked for the corporate number I was flat out ignored. I'll never go back and I'd recommend Bob Evans next door. This is close to home so I've tried this place too many times to count. Each and every time I hope for the best but I'm sorely disappointed. I eat gluten free...so I almost always order a steak, baked potato and vegetable. Not once has my medium steak been delivered medium, it is always well done, more like a leather shoe. When I take my son, he orders a cheeseburger, and the buns are oftentimes stale and hard as a rock...we have definitely given up on this place. Pre-packaged food shouldn't be that difficult to prepare but for the people at this Applebees it seems too much to handle.. read more

Bad management, bad service, unorganized and a terrible place to work. Pays hostesses/host $5.15 an hour and servers have to "tip" them out which is short changing both servers and hostesses/hosts. Service was terrible! Waited 45 minutes for a table when the hostess said it would be 25. When we finally got a table the hostess was very rude and wouldn't give us a booth because she said it was a fire hazard to have a high chair in the isle but then she put us at a table that had 2 chairs when we had 4 people and a baby. She then had to go find two more chairs. We asked if we could sit at a high top table by the bar after she was trying to find chairs. She said she wasn't suppose to sit the baby in the isle anyway. So we went to the high top table and she freaked out on us saying ugh I have to clean it off before you can sit down you are going to have to go back up front or I am going to get in trouble by my manager. Place is absolute trash, went in and asked for a booth in a half empty place with plenty of servers and clean booths, waitress led us back to the front after trying to seat us at a small table with heavy traffic in the back and said the servers did not want to wait on a booth right now and we would have to sit and wait. Extremely slow at delivering food during a very late lunch time (about 2:30 on a Sunday afternoon). I know it's Applebee's, and expectations are low...but the chicken tortilla soup did not contain chicken, nor would I consider it "soup". We have eaten here with my parents 3 times and this last time will most likely be it for us. As we entered the restaurant around 11:15 a.m., we waited for a while to be seated since no one was at the hostess stand. However, we did notice the muddy footprints all over the seats in the waiting area and the little girl's hair accessories that were just lying around on the backs of the seats - and were still there when we left. Then were greeted by Meghan (short hair, glasses) who also ended up being our waitress. We asked for a booth and she seated us in the corner booth where I immediately noticed the entire back part of the seat was covered in trash. I asked to be seated elsewhere, informed her that the seats were filthy and I then came to realize Meghan could care less about any part of our dining experience. Off all of the times I have eaten in ANY restaurant, I have never come across someone who just did not give a darn about anything and had aboslutely no concept of time when it came to bringing us what we asked. SHE WAS HORRIBLE!!! We asked for extra napkins - there were five of us including a three year old,- she brought us two after we had to ask someone else. We waited so long for her to come for my father's dessert, that we just decided to leave and get nothing. She had not a care in the world about anything! Also, I am on Weight Watchers and I looked up a salad, soup and meal before I got there. I failed to look at the menu and notice that the soup was not on there and when I said what I wanted, she had this aloof, "your a dumb a$$" attitude and made no attempts to try and explain what they had. Of course, I was so flustered by her behavior, I could barely order. Finally, when I did get my meal, it needed a little bit of salt and that's when I noticed that there was a dried, caked on, white sauce all over the salt and pepper shakers. I'm assuming no one has cleaned them in quite a while. So overall, if you are in Xenia and you are looking to eat out for dinner at a place that's filthy and the servers could care less, go to the Xenia Applebees, or the Burger King down the road where the employee was found taking a bath in the sink they use to clean their cookware! read more

To begin with, never acknowledged or greeted by hostess. Never asked how many in party and when finally seated, not given silverware. We waited for over 10 minutes in a restaurant that was not busy with plenty of empty seats/booths. They were given 2 opportunities to prepare our steaks properly and failed at each attempt. My family of 4 with a 9 month old baby decide to go here after a game. Nice area, good parking, and slow night. However the night dragged on longer than intended. Our server was slow on getting everything, our appetizer came before our drinks. We didn't get our drinks until 25min sitting there, after apologizing to us twice we finally got our drinks. We sat there for another hour waiting for our dinner to arrive. At this point I noticed another family had sat down and within a half hour had their food. So with our server only checking on us every 20min or so; I'm boiling and wanting to leave. We got our check and an extra item had been added, knowing that she wouldn't be back for quite some time I took it to another staff member to try defuse the situation and instead I was told "Ill have your waitress take care of it (3x), and she's new". Now I understood! This waitress had no help from her coworkers nor manger and instead was drowning while everyone idly watched by knowing what type of service was being giving. With this type of atmosphere I highly recommend going somewhere else. read more
