Would give 0 stars if I could. Fabiola did not ask enough questions in her consultation, then didn't listen to anything I said apparently. She talked me out of getting hair color, never sectioned my hair for the haircut, and then proceeded to chop it up in an unexpliciable way and blowdries my hair completely flat. I asked to maintain the length and long layers with face framing angles to give the hair MOVEMENT. I took a long quiz on the website telling them what's important and giving them inspiration photos, all a waste of time because no one reads that apparently. When I complained directly to fabiola that the hair had no movement.. instead of curling it or doing a bouncy blowout-- she started rapidly layering my hair by over directing chunks around my crown area. I have layers in my crown that drop into this weird panel. my shortest layer goes to my occipital bone and does not connect to the longest layer so I now look like I have a mullet. I am a cancer patient already dealing with hair loss from treatments and spent $100 to try and feel more normal as a woman and this has just completely gutted me. read more

Was referred to Jessica for my blonde color and haircut for curly hair. My previous stylist had multiple colors of blonde in my hair and it looked pretty bad. Jessica accepted the challenging of getting me to the blonde color I wanted. It took 5 hours and she mixed different products while sectioning out certain areas that needed additional help and finished with a final glaze to get my perfect blonde! Then she cut my curly hair to even up the layers and give it the beautiful bounce I wanted. The price for the services was very reasonable and Jessica's attention to detail and calm personality was amazing. I will be going back for my next touch up. Wonderful experience. After almost 8 years of being a customer of this place, I have to write this review as today I went to the place to get a redo of my roots touchup, ( I was there last week and noticed that my grays weren't really covered), when I called the lady over the phone , she even told me " sometimes it could happen but please no worries come and we will fix it" ( very nice as always the front desk). Unfortunately when I got there with Cesar the hairstylist, he was in a bad mood I am guessing as he sat me down and said that I should consider going to another place that he was very straight forward and that also he said not to go with him ever again, because he did covered my grays, I tried to control myself and was surprised as I heard him saying this of course, but I insisted and opened my hair to show him my grays, he again said, sorry but maybe the product does not work for you but consider going somewhere else or not to go with him again. Completely in shock I didn't say anything and waited for him to finish the job, as I didn't want this to ruin my weekend, when he was done I told him that a little advice from a client of 8 years , always have education and be polite with the clients, and do not dare to tell someone to stop going to the place , as it is not your place to talk to someone like that, he even dared to say something about my person, of course being rude and uneducated, I am sorry for the owners but of course I will not be going to the place ever again, it is not a cheap place but I always chose them because the product wasn't that invasive to my scalp, but I have to say through the years some employees do not have the education and common sense to treat the clients as they should. I think spot was solid in reasonably friendly customer service. I came into the spa with higher expectations, which is a large reason why I was more critical and disappointed. I came to have a 90 minute deep tissue massage and a facial. My facial service was pretty good, but my massage was a bit underwhelming. While I am not fond in leaving bad reviews (as I did pay full amount and tipped well), but I will not be returning here again. For those that aren't experienced with getting massages, this maybe be ok for you if you are coming in to do your hair ,nails , plus a massage for the day-spa experience. But those whom are experienced with massages, I do not recommend coming here as you may be disappointed like I was for that personal service. Especially since this is not my first rodeo in having deep tissue massages. I came in early to be sure I was given a true 90min service, which actually was 70-75 min in duration for my massage. My massage therapist was late to my appointment having come in with Starbucks, and didn't seem to leverage the initial the consultation discussion time effectively; which is why I wasn't truly given a true 90 massage session. Also, I don't understand the logic of the customer filling out a form and the massage therapist is not leveraging it per their service. Oddly, my massage therapist was keen on lymphatic drainage. I did not have issue with that, but if I mention to focus in certain regions of tension in my body(i.e. quads), it would have been appreciated for the massage therapist to focus on those regions (FYI ... it's kind of like indirectly being referred by clients) . Additionally my massage therapist spent a too much time on my neck facia which wasn't very helpful in relaxing/releasing tension; and time would have been better suited in regions I mention to focus on (i.e my tight quads) , which she did not do any massage work on. I am also not a fan of very cold rooms or use of peppermint oils during massages.It would have been nice to have been asked preferred scents. As for the space, it seems reasonably clean and was a small in size for a spa. Overall the spa looked like a lot was crammed into the square footage of the spa/salon, which doesn't always correlate with "upscale" or "lifestyle" spa brand. I will say when I look at the ceilings of any business, when it looks a bit moldy and/ or worn out to me it reflects that there wasn't much consideration of the details to upkeep appearances (...it can also be telling of the quality of service you will be receiving) As a tip, be sure you come to this salon if you are personally recommended a specific person to perform your service. In my opinion , this spot was overpriced for what I received in quality. Good luck y'all. I wish you a better experience than me. read more

LONG STORY SORRY- I have gone to her for years. For & Haircuts massages. This time, mid September I called and my hairdresser was gone. Was told she retired. Okay I had to choose someone's new. the receptionist gave me a few suggestions. I don't color or straighten just cut blow dry every 6 months.she gave me an appointment with a person I won't name. I don't think he spoke English, still am not sure, he only grunted. I even asked him if he spoke English because I would speak Spanish if necessary.the ONLY thing I asked of him was NOT to cut the front. He grunted.I gave him a picture of what I wanted. Halfway through the hair cut he casually chopped the front! I told him to stop. I then asked him to get someone to translate. I found later that she was the manager. Basically she told me the haircut was nice and the hairdresser knew what he was doing. Obviously they can't put the hair back.i said it doesn't matter if YOU like it if I ask to have my hair colored purple and yellow that's what you should do.she didn't tell me come back and we'll slowly shape your hair into your style. She acted as though I was unreasonable.when I paid she added to my distress by telling me she liked my haircut.i had just told the barber to stop cutting my hair I had one side longer than the other and I cut the back by myself at home. That's a 70 dollar haircut at this establishment. Oh !!! I didn't mention there was a hairstylist sitting behind me in a grooming chair looking at an iPhone and CRYING!!! I saw her in the reflection behind me, don't know if it was a soap Opera or what but it made me feel like I was being held captive at Sweeney Todd's After a few weeks I contacted the manager. I was surprised to learn she was the person who he brought to translate because she had been so apathetic. She was snarky. She asked why was I calling so long after, & they didn't give refunds but she would talk to the owner. Few days later she left a message & had approved a refund. I really didn't care about the money it was the treatment at what used to be an excellent spa. Unfortunately I will find another place. I have always gotten the feeling there that you are treated like second class if you are not Latin. They used the wrong dryer that is used for highlights and it didn't even generate heat ( I think the timer went off but they were too busy talking to friends to notice) so they used a blow dryer IN ADDITION to the dryer!! Practically burned my Moms scalp if I hadn't been there! I put my hand in to stop Anna but she kept doing it! Think twice before buying gift cards from Applewoods Aveda... I was given one for my birthday and for various reasons I preferred to get the service from a different Spa and ask for a reimbursement. I have gone to Applewoods salon for at least 7 years now. I have had facials, tinted my eyelashes and eyebrows and best of all my hair. It's hard to find someone you truly trust to find the right color and cut. I do have that person. Maylen Villar has a great understanding of what I like even before I do. When I have her color my hair the grey disappears and it comes out looking natural which is what I love. Maylen also helps me come up with new ways to cut and style my hair. I opted for hair conditioning combo treatment and the heat they kept on the hair was very awful they had heat blowing from left, right and top and instead of keeping balanced heat they kept left too high right very low and top was low. I've been looking for a good place to cut my hair, other barbers that I've been to for men make my hair look ghetto so I had to stop cutting my hair there as I want to look as professional as possible for my job. Ivelisse cut my hair and she did a great job! I don't know if she's always that friendly but she was so nice to me and cut my hair so well that I decided to make her my permenant hairstylist. I haven't cut my hair with anybody else but I did see other people getting their haircuts and having pleasant conversations with their stylists. I came to know Aveda because of their natural products (I'm a health freak) lol and I'm very happy to have found this so close to where I live.. Over all everything was great, I felt really well treated and serviced and would recommend it to my friends. A recommendation to improve would be to remove all the little decorations that don't really go with the theme of the salon so it looks more professional to those who are first time customers. But their customer service sucks and there are so many health violations it's a joke. The massage and facial I got this last week were crap, not worth the money. The last time I got my hair colored there were stylists eating around all the tools and no kitchen. I have to wait for my appointment while all the stylists chat and laugh and are rude. The front desk people are rude. Save your money!!!!!! I am loyal to aveda but this salon is a dis-service to the brand. I was not happy with the pedicure I got at Applewood. This was my first time there and my first impression when I stepped inside was that it was loud and crowded, not at all the serene location I was hoping for. I was greeted at the door as soon as I arrived and they said there would be a short wait. There isn't really a waiting room and there were only 2 chairs, which were both occupied (one by a customer of the salon who clearly was in the middle of a hair treatment), so I wandered around looking at products. When the pedicurist came out to get me, it was approximately 10 minutes past my appointment time. Not terrible. She did not introduce herself and there was, unfortunately, a language barrier. Most of the pedicure, however, was very pleasant though she appeared inexperienced and at one point, when she placed my feet in plastic bags with a hot liquid inside, I commented that I had never had that done before and asked if it was a wax. She replied that no, it was paraffin. The truly disappointing part, however, was the polish. I didn't realize just how badly it was done until I was out in the daylight. I don't think a single toe escaped without polish on my skin. I moved to the area recently and was so happy to find an Aveda spa nearby but this was nothing like my Aveda spa in northern Illinois. Went to Applewoods in Weston, Florida. I expressed my goal - to cover grey hairs and left it up to the stylist to choose the best method. However, I am not pleased at all with the results. I still have grey hairs. The stylist recommended highlights saying it would cover up the greys (mostly). It did not, and the highlights look very artificial and do not match my natural hair tones nor do they compliment my face at all. They don't start at the roots, and they are such as big difference from the roots, and from any of my hair. Totally unsatisfied with spending over $200 for such poor results. I hate the way my hair looks. It looked better (color-wise) before they worked on it. Will not be going back. read more

I got a beautiful balayage color with three different colors, a cut and blow. You get what you pay for and It's been about a week and I can't stop looking at my beautiful color.
