I've been looking for a new stylist but "fear of the unknown" kept me from switching. I had a couple of places bookmarked as possible places, but when I saw Shawnie's review, I knew that this was the place I wanted to go and I am SO happy that I did! (Thanks Shawnie!) Since my natural hair color is black, it has undertones of red which I really hate. My stylist was Isa and I told her that I was really unhappy with the redness (brassiness) in my hair and how I had thought I wanted lighter color hair in the past but realized that it makes me look washed out. I liked how Isa told me she was going to put layers in my hair when she was getting ready to cut my hair because it gave me the chance to tell her that I didn't want that. I've been to other salons where they do whatever they want and by the time you realize what they've done, it's too late. Isa worked her magic and my hair is no longer brassy! Every single hair magician in this place is great. You just can't go wrong. The ambience and decor is chill, trendy and classy all wrapped into one. I love this place. They are conveniently located in Weston, FL right off I75 & Griffin. Easy to get to from just about anywhere in south Florida. The shop is equipped with all the goodies including the best stylists, hair products, nail techs, brow threading, makeup pros, and more. They specialize in all hair types and ages. There is plenty of free parking as well. I personally won't go anywhere else. This is the only salon I trust with my hair. You'll be very happy here . This place is amazing!!! I contacted Kelly through ig and she set me up for a consultation with Isa, which I was grateful for cause it showed me that they were looking out for my hair and making sure that it not only would come out beautiful but have minimal damage. At the consultation they did a test strand and then booked me to come in for my makeover ‍ The end results were everything!!! I felt so good and my hair had very minimal damage, I'm looking forward to coming back in the future and highly recommend Isa. From what I saw here overall most of the stylist do a good job, really loved seeing all the people leaving with their new hair it looked so pretty. read more

Most people who work here are very welcoming and nice. However the hairstylist I got is not (Gloria) She was not very welcoming, she did not really look at the reference photos I was showing her for my haircut. She got upset that I didn't want to get a blow out and then wasn't friendly at all for the rest of the appointment. Not only did I get a hairstylist that made my time there sour, but the haircut that I left with was not worth it at all. This photo was taken after I got my haircut. I had a horrible experience at this place. I brought with me from Rhode Island the instructions on what to do from Kelly's former boss. And she agreed to it or gave me the appointment and willing to take my money but she didn't follow the formula. I didn't realize it because I was so stressed out sitting there waiting after everybody else was taken care of that she never even put the toner in. When I went back and asked her why Kelly said you don't have to use a toner all the time, honey. I was there for over four hours the service left me with 3 inch roots not matching my hair at all. I called to tell them how I felt and she was supposed to call me back and never did. When I went to someone two weeks later to maybe help fix it she said the haircut is lopsided it's shorter on one side than the other. So Kelly cut my hair lopsided and didn't dry it because I need to pick up my puppy. When she took the cape off I was covered in hair inside and outside my shirt. I don't know but maybe she was drunk. I went back to the scene of the crime to return the shampoo/conditioner she pushed on me when I tried to leave to get out the door so I could pick up my puppy. At this point all I could think about is driving on unfamiliar roads back to Fort Lauderdale. I think she knew I wasn't going to be coming back because when I went to return the shampoo and conditioner. Kelly had somebody else in her chair when I got there for my second appointment she had somebody sitting in the chair very suspicious. I came to The Strand and was originally booked with Rita, but instead was referred to Sandra, who expertly trimmed 2-inches off my wavy hair and provided a great blow-out as well. Mask-wearing in this time of COVID was optional for clients, but I saw all staff wearing masks or shields and I saw extra attention paid to sanitizing each area between clients. I was visiting--in town for a family funeral, sadly--but told Sandra how grateful I was for her great cut as it's hard to find stylists who can handle my waves back home. I went here for the first time to get a blow-out for my wedding day. When I cam in the place was incredibly busy, but that did not effect the service one bit. Everyone was helpful and friendly. Smiles all around. i was a little early so i had a short wait before my appt. I was offered a drink and they made sure i was comfortable. Trish was recommended to me by a client. I went in at her request so she could see my hair, she seemed nice. We talked about my hair and what I wanted to do with it. I asked her for an estimate and she told me step by step what the prices were, including tip percentages "because she will do a good job" (seemed weird but maybe some people don't know about tipping). My wife gets her hair done at the Strand Salon. She convinced me to try one of their stylists rather than my usual barber. I have mixed ethnic (curly/straight) type hair, which is difficult for most people but I am glad that I gave them a shot. Went to get an asymmetrical bob and everything went perfect. My original stylist Karina wasn't comfortable with doing the cut that I wanted so she sent me over to Ivy and watched while Ivy cut my hair, giving her tips on how to go about my hair.
