She requested a pretty standard balayage and $175 later left with the color shown in the photos. She ended up having to go to a different salon today for a full color correction. What I love about this salon is the layout & decor. It's a very relaxing ambiance, especially since complimentary wine is offered. So I decided to get a DevaCut with Sheila and I was hesitant because of the price. Believe me when I tell you it is worth it and more. The DevaCut is one of a kind experience and for all you curly mane'd girls out there - you should try the DevaCut at least once. I went there in the busy holiday season which im grateful they were able to take me but in all honestly it has been the worst hair drying i have ever had. I walked out of there in shock. The lady kept putting this liquid on my hair as she was drying it to the point my hair was all rough. I had to wash my hair the next day because it was a big ball . Let me start by saying my hair is 3b/3c curly and if you have hair anywhere near mine, you know how difficult it is when it comes time for a hair cut. I came across the Deva Cut on the DevaCurl website. Which is a way of cutting curls individually because every curl is different and sometimes need to be cut at different lengths to sit right with the other curls. That being said, this was my first time and I had no idea what to expect. I felt a little out of my comfort zone because I'm not used to such a high scale salon. This place is clean, the people are nice, and has a very high end atmosphere. As soon as I sat down after checking in, I was offered an assortment of beverages. I didn't wait long, probably about 5 minutes and Sheila was ready for me. She is so sweet and she did a fantastic job. I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to curly hair care, but Sheila talked me through it and I can now recreate what she did that day, which I always thought was impossible (you can NEVER do your hair as good as when your stylist does it.) I'm a pretty frugal person, so to me this place is very expensive. But honestly it's so worth it! (Reason for 4 stars is because as happy as I am with my experience here, 5 stars is perfection and I wasn't completely blown away...but almost! 4.8 stars!!!) read more

I got another DevaCut and Sheila did it once again. My curls are nice and bouncy and the experience was relaxing as well (complimentary mimosas on Saturday? Yes, please). Although I wish the cut was a little cheaper as $83 is pricy just for a haircut, it's definitely worth it! I've wasted so much money trying to find a salon that can handle thick, curly hair and I'm glad I've finally found one. I'm always on the road and never have time to look for a great stylist/salon. Yelp helped me find this local gem today and I left very happy! After throwing some ideas back and forth with the stylist I knew I was in good hands. While I waited for her to finish with her current client, I was offered a beverage and even lunch (the owner was ordering lunch for the staff). I also overheard one of the staff offer to charge a client's ipad because her battery was low. I have never experienced service like this. My cut and color came out exactly like I envisioned it! I have been going to aztig since they opened several years ago. Since finding them, I have never even THOUGHT about going anywhere else. The place feels like home, and the owners and staff make you feel welcome. The stylists are fantastic. They are well prepared. On my last visit, I wanted to do a reddish color on my hair. They had an entire album of photos of people (mostly celebrities) with varying shades of red. It was so much better than looking through a color selection book and picking out a color from a piece of colored artificial hair. Had a wonderful experience here. After searching a year for a salon in the area, I finally found one that the stylist are talented-SoHo talented. Mitchell was incredible. I clicked the button to make an appointment online but didn't receive a response after a couple of days, so I called. The fellow said nothing was available. Oh well. Then over a week later I get a call in response to my online appointment request... They were able to take me. I don't know if a spot came up or it was a mixup or what. But Sheila was GREAT. I got airbrush makeup done for an event. She was professional and confident - which is what I want when trusting my look to someone else. She was very sweet and did a great job. I love this place!!! They make you feel like your part of the family. I have a lot of hair plus it's very, very long and curly. Many hairstyles can NOT manage my hair at all. The very first day I meet Sheila she told me many things about my hair that I did not know about.
