Update /Correction - This is a local family-run business, and both technicians came to repair my washer because they recognized the urgency. In the end, they fixed the issue and I appreciate that. Before the first visit, I asked if they could assess the likely parts needed in advance so we could avoid multiple trips. They brought one of the two parts, so a second visit was required. I may have been wrong to assume the second part could be brought or purchased ahead of time -- it's possible the technician needed to see the machine first to confirm. For future customers, it might help to carry that control board as a common part (I understand inventory is costly, but it could save time for everyone in cases like mine). There was also a long stretch when I couldn't reach them and didn't know whether they were still coming, which was stressful since I rearranged my schedule and cancelled a GE appointment to support a local business. They later explained they had no cell service in the area, which I now understand. Ultimately, they showed up, fixed the washer, and everything is working properly. I finally found someone that actually repairs appliances. The company sent a tech that fixed my refrigerator. I have had issues with this refrigerator since I purchased it. I had been told I should replace the fridge. Appliance Genie sent someone who arrived on time and performed the repair that day at a reasonable cost ! Definitely would recommend 5 stars read more

The worst stay away came to fix icemaker couldn't fix it but after they left husband hit a reset button. It was fixed, but in the meantime, they took a deposit on a new one then called to say they couldn't honor the price they gave us then the refund check came back short after 3 weeks of phone calls !!! scam is not the word stay away. read more

Jay came to our house and charged us $480 to fix our dryer promising it would last another 4-5 years. when he left it didnt work the same, took 4 cycles to dry the clothes. 3 weeks after it was "fixed" the dryer completely broke. four phone calls to Jay never returned, he ghosted us. Do NOT use this company(appliance genie). I made an appointment and took off a day of work for their 3 hr window. They never showed up. I called to ask when someone would be out. I was told I'd get a call back from the technician and they would definitely be out that day. Never heard another word from this sham of a company. I called and explained the problem I was having with my refrigerator. I was told " There's a svc call chg of $189. But if you have the repair made that's "waved". I said I saw 10% discount on their Google Ad..." just mention to the svc man." Well the only good part was that they did come within an abt hr &half. Did "unclog my heater coil. But never took off the $189. off the repair charge. It even states on my emailed receipt that it wasn't deducted. So after wks of trying to get thru to ask the ...hummm...guy that answered I got no satisfaction. Story changed to "well you have to pay in advance to have the 189. waived." Now am I crazy...why would I PAY before anyone CAME, not to mention they didn't know WHAT needed to be repaired??????? Totally ignored my request for 189. refund. Great Customer service, Appliance Genie came out to service my 10 year old Refrigerator during June. My previous repair company was not operating due to Covid-19 I called them they were very busy but since it was a refrigerator and food was going bad they squeezed me in. They had my unit up and running with new parts within the week. Highly Recommend using them. The parts theyinstaled then failed so I made an appointment to repair them. Two appointments, two no shows. I would never use this company or recommedn them to anyone. Appliance Genie is a joke They came to my house to diagnose a problem in my fridge ( Viking fridge) The guy was there for five minutes he said it was the inverter i paid him 100$. He said he will be back with the part to install. That was Thursday the 10th as of today Thursday the 17th did not hear back from Them I called them over 10 times no one picks up left messages no call back . I made an appointment and was given a date, time, and even the name of the technician who would be sent to my home. No one showed up, and when I called to inquire where the tech might be was told that they didn't see my appointment in their system. The woman who I spoke to said she would look into it and call me back in 10 minutes, which also never happened. Just pitiful customer service, phone skills, and reliability. The Worst! We were given their name by our local appliance dealer who recommended them to repair our GE Monogram refrigerator. A father and daughter team came to look at it. We had to pay them $125 up front. They looked at the refrigerator for a few minutes, telling us it was multiple problems and the cost of repair would be $850. Since they came recommended by Berger Appliance in Hawthorne, we figured they were being honest. They are scam artists. For 3 months they strung us along saying they couldn't find the parts needed. We finally gave up and called in another repair person. It was a simple clogged drain line. Nothing of what these AG people said. He fixed it immediately at a cost of $182. DO NOT USE Appliance Genie from Cross River! Very dishonest company! I agree with the other reviewer. If there was a zero rating, that's what I would have given. Shame on them! read more

If I could rate 0 I would. I called for a humming noise with my refrigerator. The service man just vacuumed the bottom vent system and suggested it may be the fan and to try to deice build up.. not knowing for sure if that was the problem. I did what was suggested and the same problem is occurring. I called back with no answer. I called another company.. the servicemen deiced it for me... realized the computer defrost system is not working and knows that I need to replace the part. In my mind,AG did not nothing but suggest a problem with no solution. It's like an electrician thinking your light bulb needs to be changed and not realizing that that the fixture doesn't work. Appliance Genie has been servicing our kitchen appliances for years. They are extremely fair and have integrity in their work.

My refrigerator's mother board was fried during the hurricane that hit NJ. They charged me $160 to come out and look at it. That was to be applied to the repair. They got the motherboard and tried to install it but they need a code to get it out of diagnostic mode. They don't know it and can't get it anywhere. They said they would investigate and call me back. Still waiting. I guess I don't matter. Lived out of ice chests for about 3 weeks and then bought a compact fridge for the interim. Ordered a fridge, coming near the end of October. Avoid these guys like the Plague. Horrible service experience. read more

They showed up within the time window they gave me. Delroy found the broken evaporator fan blade and installed one he had in his van so that I could use the fridge until the new fan came in. I called Appliance Genie for a broken ice maker. They asked for the brand, serial number and model number. Clay called to say he would be arriving a half hour early. He promptly diagnosed and replaced the offending ice maker. The repair was expensive mainly because the part is. They give a 10% senior discount which helped. A day later and I have ice! read more

I had a huge barbeque this summer and two days before my refrigerator and ice maker decided to go on strike. I called place and they told me two weeks or that they would get back to me and never did. I called the Appliance Genie and it was like a weight was lifted. They asked me some basic question and said they would send someone the next day. The next day a repair man was at my house looking at my appliances. Both items were repaired and my party went off without a hitch.
