He came out the very next day after making a special trip to get the part needed for the washer repair. He even helped my husband and I lift the dryer off the washer! Bottom Line: Professional, reliable, friendly and efficient. I feel like it is so rare that any service company delivers on their commitments but the service from Lee at Appliance Repair Services was exemplary! I contacted Appliance Repair Services when my Samsung electric dryer stopped heating and I had confidence in Lee from our initial discussion. On the phone he told me some of the issues he'd seen with electric Samsung dryers in the past and what those repairs might cost. I appreciate that he provided this feedback on the call so my husband and I could talk through some scenarios that evening (e.g. if the repair price is over $x we'll get a new dryer). Just as Lee said he would do he called me the next day when he was on his way and he was perfectly on time per the time given the day before. Given COVID he wore a mask (as did I) which I appreciated. He quickly diagnosed the problem and was able to replace the bad heating element. His business description says that he tries to stock commonly needed parts in his van and lucky for me, he had the part that was needed to effect the repair on his first visit. Hooray. I really appreciate the effort that Lee puts into assessing commonly needed parts, ordering them, stocking them and floating the costs. Overall it took Lee an hour to assess, fix and test my dryer for what I thought was a reasonable fee for such high quality service. The switch that enables the drain and spin cycle on my washer failed. They got back to me relatively quickly to schedule an appointment. Once here they immediately diagnosed the problem and replaced the failed switch in short order. Cost was equal or better than similar businesses charge. I'm giving two stars because they at least didn't try to take any money from me. However, this company advertises that they repair freezers. Yet, they couldn't be bothered with mine. They wasted my time. I submitted a request for them to diagnose and fix my freezer. I already suspected what the problem was, a leak due to a damaged line that occurred while trying to squeeze the freezer through a narrow doorway during a move. They responded to my inquiry and asked what was going on with the freezer. I explained what happened and what I thought the problem was. I was told that they couldn't be bothered with the job because they "don't do system work." OK, fine. If you didn't advertise that you diagnose and repair freezers, I wouldn't have bothered you at all and neither of our time would have been wasted. I subsequently submitted an inquiry to Ultimate Appliance Repair. They responded promptly, came out and listened to what I told them, checked, discovered and confirmed a leak in the location I suspected, did the "system work" and fixed it quickly and professionally. Ultimate Appliance Repair explained to me that "system work" pertains to anything that requires dealing with the sealed system refrigerant line, such as a bad compressor or leak in the line. Anything that requires opening or working on the sealed refrigerant system (a huge component of freezers and refrigerators!) is "system work." Considering we're talking about freezers here, you'd think that "system work" would be a primary and major aspect of freezer repair for anyone who advertises they are professionals in this arena. So, if you suspect that your freezer or refrigerator has compressor, refrigerant or sealed line leak problems, which could be highly likely, don't waste your time calling these guys. They should add to their advertisement that maybe they can fix your freezer as long as the problem isn't system related. read more

I contacted Appliance Repair Services when my washing machine suddenly stopped working. Lee Moore is everything you could hope for in an appliance repairman. He is punctual, informative, efficient, thorough and helpful. After several attempts to determine whether my 24 year old Kenmore washing machine was repairable, he demonstrated why it was not, then took the time to empty out all of the water still in the tub (when the washer stopped working) so the next work crew wouldn't need to do that (or make a watery mess) to remove that machine. In addition, Lee recommended a new washer based on his years of experience with those washers not needing early or significant repair. I chose Lee because of other reviews. He was very professional and also wore face mask into our home. We had a 5 year old Kitchen Aid side by side that stopped making ice. We had one prior to this one and it was a lemon. Fortunately, it stopped working before the 1 year warranty was up, so Kitchen Aid had to give us another one. This one worked well for 5 years until the freezer stopped working. We did trouble shoot by turning the refrigerator off and starting back up again but nothing. We waited several weeks before calling Lee. He had to order parts that came to about 500 dollars and we wanted to be sure if these parts didn't work we were not going to eat this. They did not work and he did not charge us for the parts. Put old parts back in and charged for the service call. We ended up having to buy a new fridge. Needless to say not a Kitchen Aid! read more

I just talked to Lee (I think that was his name?) about replacing the control board on my dryer. I let him know that I had already figured out the problem by looking up the error code and watching YouTube on removal/replacement of the board - and was basically trying to figure out if it would be more cost effective to order the part and fix myself in a few days, or to pay someone to come out today. Aside from being highly responsive to my first call, he was genuinely friendly in explaining his flat rates so it was pretty clear I would be paying more than if I did it myself. Additionally, he recommended a better place to get the part I had already put in an online shopping cart with a different company. I ended up ordering the board from his recommended parts company for about $100 less than what I was about pay for the item in my cart and with luck it will arrive tomorrow (as both he and the guy on the phone w the parts company said there is a chance it could arrive earlier than scheduled). I will definitely be calling on this business when I cannot fix something on my own. I am not a big YELPER - only really post when stuff is REALLY CRAPPY or STELLAR. I had an issue with my dryer making a sweeping noise that I noticed on a Wednesday night. Requested a quote fro Appliance Repair Services that night, around 9:30. To my surprise Lee contacted me by phone the next morning before 9:00. I explained the problem and I sent him a picture showing the model number. He said he could come out Friday morning. When he arrived he explained what he expected the problem was and proceeded to open up the dryer to verify. He was right. It needed a new belt and tensioning pulley. He gave the price to fix, which was quite reasonable. When he was done, which included cleaning up the inside of the unit, he also took a quick look at my washer and resolved a problem we had with that too. We found this company through Angie's List. It's locally owned and run by one man, Lee, who is AWESOME. We're going to be calling him for every appliance repair from now on. He charges a flat fee of $85 to come out and address the problem. If parts are needed, he'll also charge for those. He also troubleshooted with me over the phone for free and has just been great all around. The trouble with the Yelp review system is that companies who have a lot of money - and charge a lot of money - get the most reviews, etc. and therefore more attention. I wanted to post this because I'm hoping some of you will come across it and not have to pay the $200-something many others charge on top of parts, etc. We found Lee to be extremely informative, prompt, and personable as well as reasonable in his pricing. Amazing service! We had issues with a dryer and had been dealing with technicians from the manufacturer (GE). They had come out a couple of times but problems were misdiagnosed and were very irresponsible with scheduled appointments. In addition only gave 30 day warranty. I contacted Appliance Repair Services regarding a problem with my Maytag refrigerator. I had already gone on line and ordered what I hoped was the appropriate part. When contacted by this vendor, he was very open to the idea of waiting for the part to arrive to check to see if this was the problem. Of course the part arrived late on a Friday and I had an obligation all day on Saturday - Lee did offer to make a Saturday house call if the part came in so that I would not be without a refrigerator all weekend. I was able to install the part myself late Friday night but really appreciated the time and consideration offered by this company even though they did not recieve any compensation.
