We had a minor issue with 2 ovens. We were quoted a diagnostic fee of $199 for the first oven and $99 for the second oven. The technician came out and quoted $175 for the repairs. When the work was done, less than a half hour later (using no parts, only a screwdriver), he said the cost would be $648. Technician did not provide a receipt. Technician was cocky and the service manager offered no discount for the miscommunication (or intentional deceit). Avoid this company. read more

Office staff was not responsive. Was told that I would get an email as to when the technician was coming, only received date. When speaking with office was asked to send a photo of the broken part, so they make sure they have the part with them when they came. The technician who came today was nice but did not have the part but still charged me the $169.00 service fee for doing nothing except look at the machine in and out in less than 5 minute. Will not be calling them to come here ever again. They do nothing but still charges the $169.00 fee, they are a scam. read more

I called Landers Appliance because I had an error code on my refrigerator. They tried to troubleshoot my issue over the phone to save me money. Unfortunately, they weren't able to identify the problem, but they sent a repair person later that same day. He called prior to the appointment to give me a 1/2 hour notice. The repair person was polite and friendly. He repaired the issue and provided a 30 day warranty. I had a great experience and would certainly hire them in the future. read more

Not exactly what they promise. First off: no money back guarantee despite claiming so on their website. Secondly: no real customer service. When new appliance couldn't be installed because it couldn't fit through the door, they left it on the sidewalk. The old appliance, to be taken away, was left in the middle of the kitchen half disassembled. We have used Landers before and were happy hence we used them again. But this time it was an utter disaster. We are now left with a new refrigerator that doesn't fit - because landers does not take it back - and a half disassembled old one sitting in the middle of our kitchen. On top of that our property is listed for sale but we cannot show it under the circumstances. Well done Landers. Won't EVER use you again. read more

We had been talking of replacing our fridge due to the gaskets giving way for some time. Some people may have replaced them, but our luck is like this....we replace them and two months later, the entire unit goes up. Wasn't an option, so the $200 is better invested in a new refrigerator. We went to Home Depot....twice to be honest. Picked out two fridges and while the salespeople were ok with our measurements and told us the delivery people would pull off the doors to install, they in fact would not. The opening to our kitchen is 29 and a half and without the doors, they all came in at 29 inches. Tight squeeze, but doable....just not by Home Depot. To be honest, I really don't think their delivery people like any challenge....they want to plug and play...not all deliveries are like that. I actually thought the last guy that measured from HD was going to slug my hubby....I need to thank him because it just helped us find a company that cares. We called and explained our issue to Landers Appliances. They knew who had told us they wouldn't deliver and they said it was no issue. Indeed it was not. Due to Covid, we had to wait a few weeks for our machine to come in, but it was not a biggie. Delivery day came and the guys measured, took our old machine out, put our new one in with care. They were all around great and the new fridge fits in perfectly! Very happy and a stellar experience all around. The next time I need an appliance or friends need a recommendation, I'm going to keep Landers in mind. Our local businesses need us and this was no muss and no fuss. Very happy! read more

Our icemaker on our Viking refrigerator broke. It was no longer putting out ice. We called Landers appliance and ask if a technician could come by and repair this problem. We do not hesitate to call this company as we have been using them for over 20 years and I've always been satisfied. I actually spoke to the owner Mr. Dean Landers. He was a very friendly and polite individual and carefully listened to the problem I was experiencing. He told me he would try to have a technician out that very same day that I called him. Incredibly a technician arrived within several hours of me speaking to Mr. Landers as promised. The technician quickly identified what the problem was and fortunately had the spare parts on his truck to repair and replace what was needed. The technician "Steven" was extremely pleasant and told me what issue was explained what he was doing to correct it After he completed the job he cleaned up the area where melted ice and debris had gathered. The salesman promised delivery on a particular date, then the night before delivery sent an email saying he was out for the rest of the week, but that I should CALL TO SET UP DELIVERY. When I called I was told it would be two more weeks fore delivery. When I asked to speak to the boss, as this is not what I was told the boss got on the phone, condescendingly told me he would have to read up on the situation before he would talk to me, refused to listen, told me it would be stupid to listen to me. I wanted confirmation that my gas range was, in fact, leaking gas and I wanted to know from where and what the prognosis was. Lander's came out in a timely manner. They did find a leak within the appliance as well as an "odd" issue with the gas regulator. The technician called a Senior pro to get his input, too. They provided a no-pressure repair quote while there. They even mentioned that the range was very old and has gotten it's money's worth - and may just make sense to purchase a new one. The technician answered my [numerous] questions professionally and graciously. My only gripe with the experience was that Lander's does not apply the service visit/diagnosis to the cost of repair. So, you're in it for the ~$100+ and then any and everything after that. That's generally not how I do business. I would not hesitate to contact Landers for all your appliance needs. They also sell new appliances should the need arise. You may pay a little more for using Landers, but they are worth every penny. The steam function was no longer working on our LG dryer. My husband called Landers Appliance and was told there would be a $99.95 service charge to come out. He was also told they were offering a $15 off coupon that would help with the cost. Joe was at our house for 38 minutes; nice guy and very professional. His diagnoses was the steam generator and pump were failing. Joe said that the parts were not available on-line and would have to be purchases directly from LG; the turnaround would be 2 weeks with an estimated cost of $523.95. I was shocked by the cost and told Joe I would speak with my husband that evening and get back to him. He never mentioned the $15 off coupon and I completely forgot until after he was gone. When my husband got home, he looked on the internet and within minutes found the pump at a cost of $32; it arrived 2 days later. He was fairly certain that the steam generator was fine so he did not order a new one. If he found after installing the pump, that he did need the steam generator, he could order it for $65 and have it the next day. The repair took my husband 15 minutes and the dryer works like brand new. The steam generator was not broken and did not need to be replaced. I understand that a business needs to turn a profit but the cost difference in this case is ridiculous.... we will not be calling on Landers Appliance again, nor will we be referring them. read more

Doing second visit, tech called help line and spent thirty more minutes attempting to fix through diagnostic tech support. It was determined it would need yet an additional part and another visit and. .. Which would cost close to getting a new one. I thought Landers was great. Our stove wasn't getting up to temperature, so I called and made an appointment. I called on a Saturday and they had availability on Monday. They gave us a window but then gave us a lot of notice as to a narrower timeframe on Monday morning, and then gave us another heads up when the technician was on his way. The technician was very quick and nice, explained the problem, gave us a quote, ordered the part we needed, and came back the next day to install it. Great service. I can't comment on the price since I haven't really had to deal with these sorts of problems before, but it certainly didn't seem unreasonable. I'd recommend Landers without reservation. read more

I needed a belt for a clothes dryer & planned to attempt the repair myself. I walked out of another appliance company (JJ Gloss) who had the part in stock, but made a point to tell me that they were going to charge me a 25% re-stocking fee if i decided to return the part - even if it was unopened & even though it was an item they commonly stocked. I'm a do-it-your-selfer, but I'm no sucker & I found it foolish that a business was more willing to lose a sale than work with a customer. I called Landers & spoke with Amy who was super helpful! They had the part in stock & knowing that I was the one making the repair, Amy said that I could return the item if the issue was beyond a new belt - NO RESTOCKING FEE! She gave me useful info on how to go about the repair & went as far as printing out a schematic for me to reference, which really helped! I hit one snag while replacing the belt & called for advice. We have a Maytag Washer MVWX655DW that was installed September 2016. Lander's came out today and the tech COULD NOT remove the bolt on the agitator to fix the washer. Tech called the office and was told to collect the $139.95 service charge in spite of not being able to get the bolt off to fix the machine. Who charges a customer if they can't get the job done? My refrigerator was freezing but not refrigerating I asked my local neighborhood Facebook page who people would recommend... I received the name of Landers appliance repair in Rosedale Maryland. Called them and they came three days later... The technician said that I needed a new fan to blow the air from the bottom to the top of the refrigerator I also think he said I needed a new heater to defrost the fridge... He also defrosted The bottom part of the fridge and took the back part off and said he would order the parts and he would be back as soon as they came in... He quoted me a price of close to $607... I said that if the price of the refrigerator was double the repair cost I would buy a new refrigerator... Well that was not the case so I agreed for him to come and repair the refrigerator... When they called the following week and told me they were on their way out to fix my fridge I asked the young lady where my price quote. Was because technician quoted me 607 and this new price was actually about half the cost of the new fridge $ 805... She said that they are a paperless company and that if I'm going to get my fridge fixed I would have to pay them $805. They had already charge me $330. I spoke to the manager and he said that I really had no recourse, but I said that I had nothing on paper telling me what the breakdown of my bill would be. He apologized but said I would have to pay the service call of $330 if I chose too no get it repaired. I told him I refused to complete the repair and he said he would talk to the owner. A week later I received a bill for $330 that was already charged to my Amex card (which I intend to dispute). Never heard from them again... No owner called me... No manager called back. . I then contacted Constellation home appliance repair... They came out two days later fix my fridge... they Repaired the fan, did not replaced it and charged me half of what Landers was going to charge me... Very expensive. Needed cook top igniter repaired. On the positive side, the tech, Bill, was prompt, polite and knowledgeable. On the negative side is the cost. The price, which I paid, just for inspection and to provide estimate was $120. This would NOT be applied to cost of repair which he estimated would be another $850+. That would have brought the total cost to fix the igniter to almost $1000.00. I chose to use another company. read more
