Made the big mistake of trusting this company. I have an older frig., but after my experiences it now makes loud noises when I use the water tap and ice. Which was supposed to be what they fixed. They broke it instead. They failed to show up on time, all four times, I should have realized this company doesn't know what they are doing. Yesterday I waited until 3pm for a window of 10-12pm. Second time they never showed because of an emergency, never told me, I had to call to find out by calling them. I do not recommend them. They never apologize for the no show or being late. The only thing I want to point out, though, is that they said $80 for diagnosis, waived if hired to service. However, when the tech arrived, I explained what was happening (almost verbatim what I wrote in my Yelp inquiry). He touched nothing. Looked at nothing. And said $185 to fix it. Why can't the Yelp response be as accurate? It's not the only appliance place that did this but as a consumer, I do find it annoying. My 6 yr old LG refrigerator decided not to work a few days before Xmas. It was not cooling and it was not making ice. I called Appliance Repair team and someone came to diagnose the problem on 12/24. It took him a couple of hours to figure out the problem but he found the problem. It took him another 2 hrs to fix it. He said to give it at least 5 hours and it would be up and running again making ice and cooling. After paying $702.00 and waiting over night- my 6 yr old LG is still not making ice :(. I had called around to get a few different quotes to repair a dryer that was making a large clunking noise and generating more heat than usual. We ended up going with Appliance Repair Team and Oliver came by to diagnose the issue. Appliance Repair Charges a $75 mandatory fee just to diagnose the issue, which is fine, but after he diagnosed the dryer he determined that it was only dirty, and said it needed a full cleaning. Some loose change and items inside the dryer seemed to be causing the noise issue, but it shocked us that the cost to clean the dryer was $250. The $75 would be applied to this, but it was a tad upsetting since nothing was really being repaired in the unit and it was just a bunch of accumulated dirt being vacuumed out. Oliver took the time to dismantle the unit and cleaned it out, and he even determined that the dryer runs hot due to possible build up in the dryer tube, but cleaning the tube was not a service they provide. He suggested we call another company to resolve that issue. All in all it took him less than an hour to clean the dryer. Oliver was pleasant and professional, but the quote seemed quite a bit excessive for the type of work being done, hence the 4 star rating. read more

An update to my rating of 6/6/23. I have adjusted rating down from 2 stars to 1 star. New appliance repair company came out, ran a diagnostic test and determined it was a faulty ice maker. Came back a day later to install new one, ran another diagnostic test and determined new ice maker was good to go. Said wait 24 hours for ice. 18 hours later we have a functioning ice maker in our refrigerator! The Appliance Repair Team apparently does not have highly trained technician. They do not know how to do diagnostics testing. They just know how to swap out parts. These technicians are known in the business as parts monkeys. But even then they don't know how to determine if new parts are working. Apparently reading the manual would tell them that it takes up to 24 hours for a newly installed ice maker to make ice. Beware of the Appliance Repair Team. They are likely to be hit or miss in being able to fix your problem. read more

I called these guys a few weeks ago when I thought my freezer was leaking. Kevin came out, cleaned my compressor coil and drainage system. No more water in the freezer. Everything was great. Last week, my freezer stopped making ice. Oh no! I called today and Kevin came out SAME DAY and pulled it all apart. Declared it in need of replacement, gave me an estimate (with a discount) and told me I could think about it. I have two matching Thermador (Bosch) dishwashers in my kitchen, so even though they are about 15 years old, I was reluctant to replace just one of them when it began to run endlessly unless manually stopped. So I decided to fix it. Using guidance I found on the Internet, I thought I had a bad heater element which prevented the water from getting hot enough to advance through the cycles, but I wasn't absolutely sure. In addition, the DIY Youtube videos on how to replace it were intimidating...and I have a bad back...so I decided to contact Appliance Repair Team to fully diagnose and fix the dishwasher. Oliver spent an hour to diagnose the issue, including removing and reinstalling the dishwasher. Turns out the heater element was fine, and it was actually the control board (which has a relay that actuates the heater). Within a few days, Oliver came back to replace the board, first checking all the wiring and connectors underneath the dishwasher to make sure there wasn't any corrosion that might also be problematic. With the complexity of my dishwasher and Oliver's thoroughness, he spent another two hours on the repair and reinstallation. That's probably longer than he thought it would take, but he didn't charge me more than what he quoted after the initial diagnosis. And the $70 diagnosis fee was credited against the repair bill. I'm so glad I called these folks. It saved me the couple of hundred dollars I would have spent on buying the wrong replacement part had I done it myself, and several hours of my time not having to disassemble, diagnose, replace the part, and reinstall the dishwasher. We moved into a new house and needed to replace the rubber gasket in the washing machine. I submitted 4 quote requests through Yelp. I started with the most affordable vendor who sent someone out to take a look, told me they needed to go do more research, and then completely ghosted me. This led me back to Appliance Repair Team who was a little more expensive but super transparent with their parts and labor prices and super responsive on Yelp. I scheduled the appointment within a 1.5 weeks and paid a deposit for the part. Two service guys showed up today with a text 30 mins beforehand. Appliance repair team basically came to extract as much money as possible from my issue. After troubleshooting my ice maker, and not being able to use the manufacturer warranty because lack of proof of purchase date (I received the refrigerator as part of a home purchase) I caved and called them. The tech looked at the fridge for about 15 minutes, went through some standard troubleshooting steps, decided my ice maker was broken, and gave me a quote for $450 (parts and labor) to replace the ice maker. I refused because it seemed a little high, ordered a replacement ice maker and removed the old one. For various reasons I reinstalled the old ice maker (input panel doesn't work without it) and when I woke up the next day my ice maker was working! In my opinion a stronger tech would have done my troubleshooting and could have removed and reseated the ice maker for a smaller fee. If you want someone to solve problems for you Appliance Repair team isn't great. I'm out of a $65 visit fee with little to show from them. I guess it prompted me to remove the ice maker myself, so two stars for the $65 hint. I won't be working with this company in the future, but you may have better luck with other appliances. read more

I'm giving Kevin and ART 4.5 stars..... About two weeks ago, my LG washer of over 10 years flashed an "OE" code. I looked in the manual and found it was a drainage issue. I checked on YouTube how to resolve it and was able to clean out and drain the tub. I was able to continue to do my laundry for the week. Fast forward to this past weekend, I started another load and the "OE" code came up again. I again drained the tub and started it up. This time, the code came back after about a couple of minutes. Back to YouTube and it appears that the pump has gone bad. After looking on various videos on how to replace the pump, I decided to let the experts take care of it as I did not have the time or patience to replace it. Called several appliance repair shops I felt comfortable working with, but they were all booked out at least a week. Found one that was available on Tuesday and then I found Appliance Repair Team. The lady had a Monday afternoon appointment available with Kevin between 2-4. Well, 4 comes around and no Kevin or phone call. I give it a few more minutes and still no show. I called the office back and the lady said he is running late from another job (yes, I kind of gathered), so I wait...Kevin came by at around 4:45, apologized and said the job he just came from was a frig job that took longer than expected. Okay, no issue, I like my washer fixed... I showed him to the washer and he starts doing his analysis and tells me it could be 50/50 that I may need a new pump. He'll do some clean up work, tests and see what he can do. Well, after he cleaned out the the pump area, he said I needed a new pump. :( He quoted me the price, which included the new customer discount and after I agreed, he started to take apart the washer. I was pleasantly surprised that he had the part with him as the other places I called said they may have to order it....So, he starts and what would take me hours to do, he did it matter of about a half an hour. Took him about another 20 minutes or so to test, clean up and put everything back together. Asked him a few questions about up keep on the machine and he was on his way. The only reason that I didn't give them 5 stars was the timeliness. If they (either the office or Kevin) would've called to let me know they were running late, then I would've given them a 5. Our 2-year old Samsung dishwasher stopped working suddenly and we needed to get it checked out. We found Appliance Repair Team while searching for appliance repair quotes, and they had a decent rate to have someone come out to inspect our dishwasher. We were able to get Oliver out within a few days of sending out our quote request. He arrived right on time and was very helpful and informative once he inspected everything. It was rather funny as our dishwasher actually started filling and running a cycle the first time he tried it. He knew better than to trust the appliance on the first go, and ran a few more startup cycles and sure enough the dishwasher went back into the error state and stopped functioning again. Turns out our water inlet valve was leaking which caused the dishwasher to stop functioning and had to order a replacement. He initially said that it may take 2-3 business days to get the part ordered and delivered, and it only took 2 days for Oliver to come back and replace the part. He was 15 mins early, texted/called with an ETA, and was super professional. He also diagnosed and fixed the problem quickly, which was a chip from a plate that had blocked a hose. So far so good. What was not great was that when he was done fixing the problem (45 minutes after he started), he told me the total price was $235. Huh?! I have no idea where that price came from - he never told me I was moving from the "diagnostic" phase to the "labor" phase. The diagnostic part actually required fixing the problem (a blockage in the pipe). And they never gave me the price of labor, which seems excessive at $235 for 45 minutes of work. I'm glad to have a working appliance, but next time I'll look elsewhere before hiring them again. read more

He estimated a hour or so for it to be fixed, but he finished in about 45 minutes. He wore a mask and shoe covers the entire time. I had a clog in my freezer drain which was estimated for $240. He cleaned up after himself for the most part but definitely had to re-clean after he left. There's a 6 month warranty from their repair, but he reassured that the firdge is still in good condition that it will last longer than that. She said the technician couldn't do anything without looking at it. So I asked for an appointment and (this was on Thursday), they didn't have any until Monday.
