I found a fridge for a great deal and bought it. A year later and I'm still very happy with my purchase.

I've been trying to visit this particular Habitat ReStore location for quite a while. Due to odd…read morestore hours and general difficulty getting there mid-week before they close, I have never been able to go. My husband and I finally found an early Saturday afternoon to visit. I have always loved the mission of Habitat and appreciate that they try to put these second-hand stores in developing/historic communities (Reynoldstown in this case). As soon as you walk into the store, you are welcomed by an array of beautiful furniture at the front. Honestly, if I had the money, there was a gorgeous, custom bench that would have gone home with me that day lol. The store was very well organized and laid out, making it a pleasant shopping experience. My biggest qualm with the store are some of the prices!! It's like, I would find perfect treasures throughout- $1 for gorgeous mugs, $2 for brand new planters, and some fixtures for the fraction of the price found in conventional stores. But then, you also find ridiculous pricing on items like used rugs costing over $200 or other furniture costing well over $1,000. Now in fairness, I understand that some of these items may have come directly from another retailer as "almost new", but we're still talking about donated goods. This does not deter me from coming back, it just makes me pay attention to the types of items I would probably purchase vs. ones I would get elsewhere. Overall, I enjoyed my first visit and hope to get back soon.

We donated furniture to the Atlanta Habitat for Humanity ReStore located in Reynoldstown (east…read moreAtlanta). Long story short, this is a great place to donate your new or "gently-used" furniture. They'll even come to you for (some) disassembly and pickup for free. We had to get rid of some perfectly good furniture, but had a limited time window to move it (no time to deal with listing and selling), so donating to Atlanta Habitat for Humanity ReStore was an excellent choice for us. Not only did they haul away our furniture, but we felt good knowing that it wasn't going to waste. For furniture pick-up, I filled out the form on Atlanta Habitat for Humanity's website at http://www.atlantahabitat.org/pickup/. I didn't receive an email confirmation immediately after submitting the form, so per the instructions on the site, I sent an email with the same information (pictures too) to restore@atlantahabitat.org, just in case. Four days later (including a weekend), Donations Coordinator Anna Myers emailed us. She said ReStore could accept furniture that had no stains, tears, discoloration, broken/missing pieces, or other forms of damage and asked that all bed frames be disassembled prior to pickup. She also said pickups occur between 10:30am-3:30pm, Tuesday-Saturday, and that drivers arrive in a 24-foot box truck. We requested pickup in no later than two weeks time. Initially, Anna told us that they were experiencing an extremely busy schedule so she could not accommodate our request; however, she told us she would keep us updated. Luckily, there ended up being a cancellation and she was able to fit us in on one day's notice. We received a separate "Pickup Confirmation" email from Sherrie Butler who provided helpful information. She said if we had any extra tape measures or plastic grocery bags to give to the driver, that would be great since their staff uses tape measures everyday and their cashiers reuse donated bags at checkout. The email also said that in 2018, ReStore diverted 1,544 tons of materials from landfills and since 2002, that total is 13,646 tons. The two movers, Josh and Kyrie, showed up on time. They gave us a 20-minute courtesy call-ahead. They had no issues getting through the apartment gate and navigating to the right place within the apartment complex. They had only one flight of stairs to contend with. ReStore will ask and confirm this kind of information with you beforehand (e.g. gates, stairs, special instructions). We donated one large L-shaped sofa, one bed frame, and one coffee table. They were done in less than 45 minutes. The only item that took some time was the sofa because some disassembly was required. They moved the furniture in the pouring rain. One of the guys was ex-military and was very friendly and jovial. After they were done, they provided a simple dated receipt with the donated items listed. No monetary values were provided and Atlanta Habitat for Humanity ReStore does not retain a copy of these receipts. In the end, we are happy with our experience with ReStore and recommend them if you want to donate furniture. My only advice is you should give them as much advance notice as possible so they can schedule a pick up that works with your schedule.
