Had a great experience at Midtown Vacuum! I have a long haired German shedder...I mean Shepherd and recently moved into a larger house from a smaller apartment. I now need a little more size and oomph than my beloved Miele C2 Compact can provide. I came in with an idea of what I wanted...either a Miele or a Sebo upright. Both high end cleaners and about the same price. Jeff spent time explaining the pros and cons of both cleaners as well as other similar options. In the end I went with the Sebo X7. Jeff was very helpful and obviously knowledgeable. One thing he isn't is pushy, which is a nice change from the typical sales experience. He was already helping a customer when I arrived so I got to hear his interaction with her before he and I talked. Just like with me he answered all of her questions but never once tried to pressure her into buying anything. I've been a happy loyal customer here for years! I purchased one of the Miele vacuums and have enjoyed great success! After having checked online, this store has better prices on the Miele supplies I need to maintain my vac than anywhere else! I love how super friendly the owner is with me and how attentive he is with any problems or questions I might pose. Anytime I am uncertain about how to properly change or operate special adapters for my vac, I can come here and get a step-by-step walk through. Also, I find the fact that the store's computer tracks my purchases helps me keep a running tab on how long it's been since my last HEPA filter change. One less thing for me to worry about! I never write reviews, in fact this is my first, but I was so disappointed with the service I received from Midtown Vacuum that I could not let this slide. I recently brought in a Bissell vacuum to Midtown Vacuum to have them diagnose some suction issues it was having. It had recently gotten clogged due vacuuming up pine needles and I had cleaned out the clog myself as best I could but wanted a professional to take a look at and give it a once over. I was told that I would have to pay a $20 diagnostic fee for them to even look at it. I was a little taken a back by this because I had brought this vacuum into other service stores in the past and was never charged a "diagnostic" fee like this before. I figured I could look past it though since it would be put towards the repairs once they knew what was wrong. A day later Midtown Vacuum called me up and told me it was going to $86 to repair the vacuum (which I paid $75 for)!!! I asked how it could possibly be so much to repair. Their response was that the two filters needed to be replaced, each costing $20 (where the other $46 was coming from was never explained. I can only assume they are charging the same hourly rate as third rate car mechanic would, which would explain the sleeze ball tactics). This did not sound right to me, so I declined the service and said I pick up the vacuum. After looking up the parts on line, both filters totaled a cost of $12, not he $40 I had been quoted. After being lied to once already I was curious what else they might try to pull. So I asked if I just replaced the filters on my own, would that solve the problem. The response that was then given to me was that maybe just replace ONE of the filters, but the whole thing would DEFINITELY need to be taken apart and cleaned out as well (what I had actually wanted from the beginning). Lied to twice by the same person now. Final summation; I cleaned and repaired the vacuum myself. (Did not require any new parts, just some cleaning/clearing of parts/tubes). Midtown Vacuums flat out lied to me and stole my money. I would recommend to everyone...never use their services. read more

The store was everything a small business should be: clean; well organized; helpful staff. We purchased our Miele vacuum from Buckhead Midtown Vacuum and it has worked well over the years. Last week the vacuum wouldn't function so I took it back to Buckhead Midtown vacuum to see what was needed for repair. They charged a $20 diagnostic fee and said the motor has a warranty for 7 years should the issue be the motor. After a week of not hearing from them I called them and asked the status. They said the motor and a circuit board went bad and would need to be replaced. I mentioned they stated the motor was under warranty and asked them what it would cost to repair. They stated the motor had dust in it and it wasn't covered under the warranty. Dust in a vacuum motor, really? They then said it would cost $280 to fix. I wanted to verify the warranty restriction so I called Miele directly to discuss. In talking with the Miele representative they said they were not aware of this diagnosis not being covered and suggested I take it to another authorized Miele reseller. I picked the vacuum up from Buckhead Vacuum and they tried to sell me a new case and said my current attachments would work. I said I was going to pursue other options and left the store and drove to another Miele store and dropped it off for their FREE evaluation. The other licensed dealer called me the next day and stated my vacuum was fixed and I asked them what was the issue and how much it would cost. They said they replaced the motor and it was free, covered under warranty. I was so happy I took it to another Miele reseller. I will continue to use Miele vacuums but will not set foot in Buckhead Midtown Vacuum again. read more

I had to get a new hose for my miele vacuum and decided to try this shop because of the good yelp reviews and am so glad I did. The customer service here was top notch. Everyone was so friendly and responsive and although my order took a bit longer to come in than we originally thought, Jeff at the store offered me a temporary hose if I needed it (though I was able to get by without it) and even dropped the replacement part off at my house because of the delay and the fact that I wasn't able to get to the store due to my work hours until much later in the week. Nevertheless, that is just what I did - on a very rainy summer's afternoon. Here's why: I was tired of bagless vacuum cleaners. I was tired of wandering around for a half hour looking for the vacuum cleaner department. I was tired of searching for the box with the number on it that matched the vacuum I was considering. I remember my mom's clean house back in the day when the only vacuum cleaner available had a bag. What fun it was to walk into Midtown Vacuum and hear a salesperson ask in a calm, polite way, "May I help you?" "Yes, thank you. I am looking for a simple vacuum cleaner, one that uses bags, is lightweight, unencumbered by dozens of easy-to-lose attachments, easy to store and, last but not least, within my starving artist budget." The knowledgeable salesperson EXTRAORDINAIRE, took a couple of steps, took a cool looking vacuum off the display shelf, explained how it worked and let me use it a bit. Fun! Awesome Miele store. If you own a quality vacuum this is the only place you should go for parts and repair

I went in to order some accessories (stacking kit and pedestal) for my Miele "Little Giant" Professional washer and dryer. I had done significant research prior to going in, such as getting specific Miele part numbers and MSRP's, so I knew that the parts existed. The store is split into two storefronts - one for vacuums, one for appliances. The appliance side was closed with a sign "I'll be back in a few minutes, if you need help go to the vacuum side". Which I did. There were a couple people ahead of me in line taking care of some business. Not once was I acknowledged or greeted with a "I'll be with you in a moment". In fact, the employee took his time shooting the breeze with the customer about his son's condo in Florida and how great it was and took about 10 minutes to finish that story. Then the other person was helped, again with some 10 minute personal story about a friend's taxidermied cat and how a lot of customers drop off their vacuums and then when are quoted the repair bill never bother to pick the items up. Finally I am the only person in the store and I explain exactly what I need. Immediately I get the stink eye because he asked if I had purchased these appliances from their store (MSRP of the pair is close to $7K) and I said no. "Did you get them from a dealer?" I said yes (why does he care?!) From that point on there was a distinct lack of interest in helping me..."Miele doesn't make a pedestal for those". When I told him that indeed they do and quoted the part number, he insisted on looking in a Miele sales brochure to verify. Then his next excuse was "well, the shipping on these will be a killer for you", and on and on. Long story short, if you haven't purchased the appliance from them and then need service or spares, they aren't interested in helping you. I thought I was doing my civic duty in trying to support a small local business, but with an attitude like this, I have no problem ordering from an out of state Miele dealer with a website and save myself the sales tax. read more

On two different occasions, I purchased two vacuums from this wonderful small, neighborhood business. The first was a Mile. The second was a Simplicity Freedom. Several years later, I needed a repair on the Miele and more recently, I needed the purchase date and cost on the Simplicity. To my surprise, they still had records on both of my "long ago" purchases. The Simplicy Freedom was purchased in August, 2006. Now, how many companies keep that kind of information for that period of time? Although I live 50 miles from their place of business, this is the first company that comes to mind when I need service, supplies, etc. on my purchases and I make the trek into Atlanta for that service or supply. You might ask, why not do business with a local? Yes, I could. But, I have found I am far more satisfied with Buckhead-Midtown Vacuum. DYSON OWNERS - STAY AWAY I have a Dyson vacuum, which is under warranty with Dyson. I telephoned the customer service department of Dyson. They tried to help me fix a problem that I had with my vacuum. Unfortunately, they were unable to help me fix the problem. However, they said that I could take it to a local vacuum repair shop that would fix my vacuum for me. And since the vacuum was under warranty, there would be no charge for the service. They search the Atlanta area for repair shops that they partner with and found the Buckhead-Midtown Vacuum store. From my home, it is 20 minute drive. I brought the vacuum into the shop on a Monday. The moment I handed over the vacuum to the person at the store, they immediately began to complain about Dyson. They said, "Dyson is really bad in getting us the work orders" and "Dyson is really slow in getting us parts that we need". They informed me that I could be without my vacuum for at least a week and a half. They also informed me that they had no record of the work order that Dyson had sent over to the store. I asked if they were going to call Dyson or should I call Dyson. They told me that it was best that I call again. I called Dyson's customer service department again, they said they had sent the work order to the Buckhead-Midtown Vacuum store and they would send it again. I waited a day and called the Buckhead-Midtown Vacuum store, they again said they had no work order, but they told me that the Dyson work order system was down and they could not get any work orders for the past two days. This went on for days and I was unsure what to do. Each time I called the Buckhead-Midtown Vacuum store, they would complain about Dyson and one associate told me that, although, they carry Dyson vacuums he would never recommend it to anyone. That Dyson spends more money on advertising then customer service. Finally after Buckhead-Midtown Vacuum store had my vacuum for 11 days, I called the customer service department of Dyson. I told them that Buckhead-Midtown Vacuum store claimed that they have never gotten the work order from Dyson. Dyson claimed that they sent it several times. The Dyson CSR even put me on hold and called the Buckhead-Midtown Vacuum store directly. He told the Buckhead-Midtown Vacuum store the work order number and the person from the Buckhead-Midtown Vacuum store took the number down and hung up on him. The Dyson CSR told me that they was going to send the work order electronically again. On the 12th day I called the Buckhead-Midtown Vacuum store. This time I had gotten the work order number from Dyson. When the Buckhead-Midtown Vacuum store picked up, they again claimed that they didn't have the work order. I told them that I know they had it and gave them the number. The man got upset and said it had to be sent to him electronically. He put me on hold and checked with someone. When he returned, he told me someone would call me back in 1 hour. 2 hours later I called again. Now they tell me that there is nothing wrong with the vacuum. 12 days with the vacuum and they now say there was nothing wrong with it. I left work early and went to pick up the vacuum. When I did the man handed me the vacuum said, "I will see you next time when it [the vacuum] breaks." I got home and tested the vacuum and it still wasn't working. I called Dyson again and they gave me another store to go to. The other store had the vacuum one day and found that it had been badly clogged. Buckhead-Midtown Vacuum store and it's associates have a bad attitude. If they do not want the business from Dyson, why do they partner with them. I complained to Dyson and told them what Buckhead-Midtown Vacuum said and did. So if you have a Dyson vacuum that needs repair or want purchase a Dyson vacuum do not go to Buckhead-Midtown Vacuum. read more

Shopping for a new vacuum cleaner online made my head spin. I had some particular needs for my condo (mostly wood floors and one room with low-pile carpet) and it helped so much to talk to Stephen at Buckhead Vacuum. This is covid time, so he listened over the phone while I looked at his store's website. He recommended a Miele tank, and it was even 20% off during a manufacturer's special. Jeff brought it assembled to my car, and I left him my 15-year-old still working machine in exchange for a package of cleaner bags. I love this new vacuum cleaner! It's light weight and compact too. And I'm so grateful for the personal service, which would not have been available from Amazon or any big-box store. Plus, I supported a local small business with some of my supplement check! I can tell I'm getting older; I was actually excited about buying my first "fancy" vacuum. Well if my Miele Onyx canister keeps performing the way it has, it may end up being the only fancy vacuum I will have to purchase for a long time. According to numerous reviews and the owner's information, this is a superior product that is made to last years. I used to dread vacuuming, now I look for excuses to get it out and clean up cat hair, litter, and use the various attachments. I took my shampooer in to be repaired. I was charged $25.00 or so just to have it checked. I was told it was not worth repairing and that i should buy an item that was very much over overpriced. I told them that will have to think it over...the guy called back and I told them I couldnt speak to them then and would have to call back so they kept calling me again and again and again until I had to TURN OFF THE PHONE. I referred a good friend, a Latina with good but broken English, there to purchase 2 NEW Miele vacuums. My friend called me after her visit and said she thought the store to be dishonest and that I should not refer anyone else there. She then relayed to me that although she paid for 2 new vacuums but the store employee told her she HAD to take a "floor model". She of course told him she did not and had to insist they provide her with two brand new models, which they ultimately did or lose $2200 in one sale. I personally contacted the store owner, it is not this Steven as mentioned in a previous review, he is the employee. It is my belief, because my friend is Latina, he was trying to take advantage of her and I find that reprehensible! I hung up from the owner with the impression that the owner was unconcerned and the attitude had trickled down to the employee. This place saved our still-very-new Shark when it suddenly stopped having suction (we discovered everything was getting stuck in the brushroll or hose and never making it to the dust cups; our attempts to unclog the thing did not go very well). It was affordable and super helpful to get the cleaner unclogged here. It didn't take too many days, either, though they don't mind if it takes you a few more days to clear your schedule to the point where you can go retrieve it. From here on out, I will not buy a vacuum anywhere else and will use this store for any future needs or repairs related to the Miele canister vacuum I bought here. With six pets in the house, a flight of stairs, and mostly hardwoods with a few area rugs, the right vacuum makes a big difference. You can trade in your old vacuum too and receive a discount on a new or used vacuum. Try doing that at a big box retailer! Previously, we were using an upright Hoover wind tunnel which was awkward with stairs and mostly designed for use on carpet. The service is very personalized. I have had several interactions with Buckhead - Midtown Vaccum and have always left with a smile on my face. I purchased one of the Miele canister vacuums (after years of frustration and disappointment with almost every other vacuum I'd tried) and have been overjoyed with the results! I went in and told them what I needed, they listened, they understood, they recommended exactly what I needed at a very reasonable price, and I am in love with my vacuum (after a year and half the bliss has not worn off!) I have enjoyed EVERY interaction I've had there, and love that fact that the owner, Jeff Cohen, is always there in person, answers any questions that I have, and that I always leave feeling like I just had a great conversation with an old friend.
