Today I had one of the worst customer service experiences at Home Depot. The lumber area was a mess - a half-pallet stacked under the wrong label, with pricing more than 3x off. The associate cutting my wood ignored my requests, told me "he knows best," and left me with rough, incorrect, unusable cuts. He asked me five separate times what the measurements of my cut were. Not once did he write them down.I did not realize he cut based on incorrect measurements until I returned home to my project. Now I have unusable pieces of wood. When I called the store for help, I was disconnected, left on hold for 45 minutes, argued with, and then dismissed by a male manager who repeatedly told me, "ma'am, we cannot do that" before hanging up. All I wanted was a small corrected piece I could have picked up locally. Instead, I was treated like I was asking for something ridiculous. As a woman who shops at Home Depot weekly- more often than my grocery store- I felt completely dismissed and disrespected. Reserved a truck several days in advance, paid the deposit, and received confirmation details. Called the evening before to verify. After 30 minutes on hold, I gave up and stopped by the Ponce location while running errands. Customer service was dead on arrival. I asked about my reservation and was told, as if I were the idiot, that there was no truck. Apparently, paying a deposit and having a confirmation number means absolutely nothing. I was also told someone was "ahead of me," which no one could even explain. I asked for a manager. After waiting about 20 minutes, it became clear I had no choice but to cancel the Home Depot reservation on the spot. They refused to verify I would actually get the truck I reserved, and I had zero confidence they would not mess with the deposit. It was pure Seinfeld-level nonsense. Standing there, I called U-Haul. While I was on the phone, the Home Depot employees could not have cared less. Total indifference. Hourly workers with no concern for customers or the business. Save yourself the stress. This week has been my best week at Home Depot on Ponce. I selected to purchase a 1800 Ryobi pressure washer and my customer service experience with Adrienne was awesome. She gave me world class service and was so kind in helping use my military discount at the register. Just her genuine/kind act of customer service brightened my day. Also had to come back because I did not have the correct garden house for my new pressure washer. James is the man! He assisted me finding adapter for my new pressure washer and gave me an option to get a new garden hose. He spent so much time in helping me (speech impaired). Ended up with new garden hose at a reasonable valued price. I cannot wait to try out my new pressure washer. Thanks you Adrienne and James. read more

I met the nicest Home Depot associate that I have ever come across. SALATHETA was the most inviting, knowledgeable, and courteous associate that I ever come across. You can tell she was happy to be there and happy to help. She offered her expertise to greatly assist me with getting the job done, and she walked and showed me where the items ii needed were located. She didn't just take a guess and point to a specific direction like most of then do. Because of Salatheta this is now my favorite home depot store. I enetered through the garden (department) and past the (oh my God already) Christmas Tree selection. The $20 difference between a 700 watt and a 1000 watt microwave had me reaching for the (as I soon discovered) heavier model. Screw you Magic Chef your handles blow and it cost you $20. When I moved recently and pulled my area rugs out of storage, they really needed some love in the form of a good cleaning. I thought that I'd do the makeover myself after being quoted some crazy prices, I don't mind a lil work! When I looked around online for a rug cleaner to rent, there were so many businesses that said they rented them so I started to compare prices. Well, when one business stated they offered rentals online but then said differently on the phone, I moved onto to Home Depot. Getting a team member online was easy and they quickly confirmed the ability to rent the cleaner and informed me that I could come right in. I was guided to the tool rental department (wayyy in the back) by a team member when I entered the store and hopped to it. The tool rental area is full of alllll sorts of pieces of equipment that I didn't even know were available for rent! If you're in a career needing heavy-duty tools, or if you're just working on some projects at home, you should definitely check them out. There were a few gentlemen in front of me in line but it seemed like only I was waiting only a minute or two before I was helped by a friendly team member. Pricing for the rug cleaner was extremely reasonable (And usually makes more sense when you rent for over 24hrs) but I wish solution was included lol. Oh well! Now, getting this in my coupe was a PAIN. I wish they offered some kind of cart or something, that sucker was heavier than me. Luckily, a nice gentleman who was outside saw a damsel in distress and helped me. *eyelash flutter* The rug cleaner was in great shape and worked like a dream. Totally worth every dime. (I just wish I could have had it delivered or picked up, but I am lazy. And weak.) When I returned the equipment 22 hours later, it was an incredibly smooth return. I bought $4000 worth of appliances at Best Buy instead of Home Depot because of the service. I originally went to Home Depot, because I like shopping in-person. When I had picked out my refrigerator and washer/dryer, I went to find help in purchasing them. I was sent to a desk where two people were working, and they told me they'd be with me in a moment. I stood there for 10 minutes (I checked my phone's clock) while they had a conversation and joked around with each other. It didn't seem like they were working at all, and would not help me. I quietly just walked away, because I'd rather shop somewhere where they want my business. It turns out, I liked the products at Best Buy even more. This is a great HD! I'm not sure why all the negative reviews. The garden department is top notch and the folks who work there do an amazing and thoughtful job making sure plants are in good health. Today I needed to buy a lawnmower and asked customer service to send someone to help me on the aisle and no one ever came. Went and asked again for help and no one ever came. I finally went back to customer service and told the woman no one ever came and she argued with me,"She came to help you." I replied," No ma'am. No Home Depot employee ever came down the lawnmower aisle." She still argued. I said no and excused myself from the conversation and the store. Despite the central location, this is not the Home Depot to come to if your need is time sensitive. Horribly understaffed and the shopping center parking lot is a hot mess 24/7. The plus sides are that the staff is nice and there is good inventory. But again if your need is time sensitive, drive the extra couple of miles to a place that's better staffed and better situated. read more

Home Depot and I signed a contract for replacement windows for $9254.90. They made us ( Dan Roberts) pay in full before they sent their windows installer. The salesman had said that there might be an extra charge so when installer was here I asked simply will there be an extra charge? He said no. He stated that it was their job to seal windows so their job was done. A couple of days later we got a phone call from salesman saying $800+ would need to be paid to go forward. When we told our salesman about our conversation with installer he just said sorry. So after talking to the manager it was assumed I had lied. They called it misunderstanding but asking additional cost and being told no just sounds pretty plain to me. This is my 3rd time to use HD for window replacement on my home. We talked to the manager Danny O'Brian and he said he went 3 managers up and there's nothing they can do. So yesterday Jan 17th I requested our money back. We wanted to use them but customer loyalty, customer is always right and stand by your contract are not a characteristic or ethical way they do business. I was in Home Depot in Midtown Atlanta Saturday, 1/6/24 (yesterday) around 1:00 pm buying moving supplies, boxes, tape, and wrapping paper for kitchen essentials. Every employee I interacted with was courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable. 1. Greeter directed me to item location and carts to carry the boxes. 2. The worker at the moving supply location was very helpful, and he determined the price on a few items for me. 3. The worker near the paint area, offered me to use his marking pen for a moment. 4. The cashier was courteous and efficient. Great job Home Depot...today I will call you Hope Depot...for the hope you gave me for my future move, for which I bought some supplies for. When I left the store, I thought this is a great start to my pending journey, and all will be ok. I was having some trouble coming to grips with the pending move, but now I am ok. Do NOT buy Home Depot if you need delivery I've now had 4 attempts. First one, couldn't find a bldg that is an entire city block with 15 storefronts on main level of which they could name. They did attempt to call me but being over 2 hours before window- I missed at 6:30am. When I called back (less than 15 min after), they never answered. Home Depot customer service compounded problem by reassuring me that they were in neighborhood all morning and could come back but to be patient since they were working it in. I gave them specific directions which I had called an given tge day before too. Then texted & called driver with easy directions. 3.5 hrs later.... It's now 2:30 pm.... No truck. No answers. Customer service sends me to manager who was great but not grasp the urgency of needing washer/dryer after 2 months of nothing. Phil was great & discovered problems with order & moreover- prompting in website. We reschedule after ordering another expensive part. (12 hours dedicated to this delivery) 1 hr later- I walk out of competitors store with part & move up my delivery date... - agent rescheduled but didn't cancel my no return $105 part. A few days later... delivery window 3: Window 10-2 pm I thought perfect - finally. They even gave me app to track them. Great. 3:45 pm - they arrive Delivery guys were gold. Nice. Respectful. Worked diligently. Dryer.... However... brand new never even touched it and it has big problem- needs replaced... (7 hrs dedicated to delivery) Next morning.... Call customer service about dryer.. excellent rep.., we get everything set up for replacement/delivery. (1.5 hrs on phone) Monday.... I never received a call about delivery window but call customer service and hear 1-5 pm. I nearly cried. I knew how behind those guys were the other day and how hard they worked. There's no way was my first thought. 1 pm and check tracking app- 5 stops ahead of me. 2:45 pm - 4 stops ahead of me. 4:30 pm I gave up because dock closes at 5 pm. 5:30 pm driver calls to deliver which I can't get him in because they ignored building operations hours. SMH! (4 hrs dedicated to delivery) If your counting... I've spent over 24 hours being available for delivery for a washer dryer of which dryer never worked correctly. Tomorrow I will call and reschedule. How many hours is your shiny, expensive, new appliance worth? Can your sanity take being complete disregard of you and your time? Can I bill them for missed hours of work awaiting delivery? They obviously are grossly understaffed. read more

This Home Depot was eh. Some weird dude on a bicycle in the parking lot offered to wash my car. And the shopping center is a headache since it's pretty popular/busy with a Whole Foods and other stores, and there's seemingly only one way in/out to Ponce, dumb design. They didn't have a gardening tool we wanted, but a woman suggested we could order it online and pick it up here. There was a puddle of citronella something that had spilled on the floor, and no one had even roped it off or anything. I am trying to build a DIY clothing rack using pipes and he was so helpful! He said he'd never heard of anyone doing something like that and I never had done it obviously but we figured out the best method together! literally every step he was so helpful and patient! This is not about the store, but an interaction I had with a particular employee, Rosalyn. My toilet has been broken for a week, and I came here to get the part to fix it. While other employees are nice, this employee needs a major attitude adjustment. Normally, I use self checkout and had to pay with cash. The self checkout was card only that day. (Please fix this) Upon approaching, Rosalyn had her mask on her chin. Here's the interaction: Me (distanced): Ma'am, is your lane open? Rosalyn: nods yes Me: Ma'am, would you put your mask on please? I have medical issues. Rosalyn: *puts on mask* WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR PROBLEM?! I ALREADY HAVE MY TWO DAMN SHOTS AND GETTING MY DAMN THIRD! I HAVE HEALTH ISSUES TOO, IT'S NO BIG DEAL! She proceeded to throw my item in a bag and was probably the rudest interaction I have had in ages. If I had the option to put the purchase off or go somewhere else, I would have walked out of the store. Again, my toilet had been broken for a week, I'm fixing it myself, and it was in pieces at home. I just wanted the part quickly and to get out of the store to minimize exposure. The other lanes were packed with people, some customers unmasked. Again, I have to be careful. I am always masked in stores and distance from workers out of respect and both our health. Look, I get it, y'all are frustrated. Unmasked screaming customers, supply chain issues, understaffing...but....I, a PAYING CUSTOMER, am not your personal punching bag. This is so unacceptable. I only went here because it was close by. I may just make the trek with my disabled immune supressed butt over to the Lowe's (not driving, in summer heat). Sorry, but this employee needs to go. SHAME ON HER for being not only unprofessional but putting your customer's health at risk. THIS behavior is the reason why the nice folks stay home. Remember that. If I had other options, I would have used them. I did attempt to visit the customer service desk for a manager. Let's just say they were not pleased upon hearing of this interaction. Unfortunately, they were unable to find a manager. Experience with them was pleasant, and I could see they are stressed and overworked, yet they maintained professional behavior, so I didn't take it personally. Again, that staff was respectful. I blame the understaffing, but, I am aware, many folks, myself included, cannot return to jobs like this. Again, this is not meant on the store, simply one employee. The Home Depot's Midtown store (#159) is tucked away inside the busy Midtown Place shopping center (same shopping center as Whole Foods) on Ponce De Leon Ave. This and the Buckhead-Lindbergh store (#6986) are my go-to Home Depot stores in Atlanta. I've been coming to the Midtown store since 2001, but have probably visited the Buckhead-Lindbergh store more often since its opening just because traffic seems like less of a headache at that store. However, I still regularly make it out to the Midtown store. The two main reasons I've come to this Home Depot are to have keys copied/cut and to purchase HVAC filters. Keys can be copied/cut lickety-split. I prefer going to a Home Depot for HVAC filters because I can purchase them in 3-packs. General big box retailers such as Walmart and Target only sell filters (in the sizes I've looked for) in singles. I've purchased a variety of 15x20x1 and 16x20x1 air filters for simple one and two-bedroom condos here. 3-packs for a basic set of filters cost about $9 each. Other products I've purchased from this store include a RIDGID 6-gallon wet/dry vacuum (about $50), stainless steel cleaner & polish, countertop sealer & polish, and LIQUID NAILS household adhesive. I've never had a problem with any purchase I've made and I'm typically in and out of the store in a matter of minutes. I prefer to use the self-checkout lanes due to quickness and convenience (shorter lines). I like that I can have receipts emailed to me. Midtown Place can usually have a hectic parking lot, but once you make it to the end where Home Depot is, there's typically plenty of spaces. read more

When I showed up this time, I first have to wait in a long line of chaos, and when get to the desk I find out that an associate has to go shop for my items.
