No star for me, if I can do that. After many promises of a delivery, my walker was finally delivered. The first person I spoke with acted as though I was imposing on her. I was promised a delivery of 3-5 working days, never came. The following Monday I called Apria, I was waiting for 44 minutes. The lady I got, gave me the customer ID and said it would be delivered by FedEX on Friday, it never came. She said she was going to try and get it delivered. I finally went back through my patient service. She was told it would be delivered by Friday, a week later, by FedEX. I waited all day. I went out side to find a notice on the door saying Apria tried to deliver. On all these attemps, there never was any notification, no text, no email, nothing. Apria did not knock on the door, I was waiting, no sound. I had no idea anyone was outside, I was livid to say the lease. Finally I told a friend of mine what was going on and she and her husband went to pick it up. Horrific service! read more

A wreckless company, they killed my husband, either they manipulated the ventilator, alarm sound was disabled and a log erased, or they neglected a malfunction for months. Since June 2025 I have not gotten medical records. Instead of picking up rented equipment, they sent me a debt collector. They did after Medicare advised me to ask a doctor to write an order that he no longer needs it since he is dead. read more

DISREPUTABLE COMPANY. My daughter's medical team at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, CA ordered a transport wheelchair for her to get around in once she was discharged this past March. The wheelchair was way too heavy for me to put into and take out of the trunk of my car, so I rented a lightweight one from a local vendor. When we tried to return the wheelchair they agreed to pick it up the following week. But they called ahead of time and said they would be charging her for being in possession of the chair, even though it had never been used. They did not mention that they would be refunding her insurance company for the 80% they paid to purchase the chair. read more

Paid thru automated system on 12/12/25. Received a text 12/15/25 that bill had not been paid. I was on hold for ~30 minutes and spoke to a representative. I was assured my credit card had not been billed and representative took credit card and billed. Today noticed 2 bills one for the 12th and one for the 15th in the same amount. Apria is probably the worst company I have come across in a long time. They do not provide any help. 1. I wanted them to deliver an instrument worth over $500. To avoid having the box left by my apartment's mail box -- close to the street and strong likelihood it would be stolen, I asked them to deliver it to a different location where someone would be available to sign for it. They refused until I found that Fedex had to get a signature for any package worth over $500 they deliver. 2. I am on Medicare and they would not provide anything in writing stating what my total payments would be. 3. They sent me an email stating that I was late in making my monthly payment. So I checked my account on their website -- the payment was not overdue!! I had about 2 weeks left to pay. I did set payment for March 26 - the time it was due but they totally ignored me and took payment on March 17. I will be doing my best to avoid using them as my medical equipment supplier. Invoiced Billed Copay Different Mfg & Model # Actual $ Figures I requested Paperwork for the Actual Walker I received and showing the Actual Dollar Figures for this Walker. Apria insisted that Worker Order #2 is ONLY for Billing Purposes regardless if the Mfg & Model# are not the same as the Actual Walker I received. Otherwise the Actual Worker Order information DOES NOT have to Match the BILLING PAPERWORK according to Apria. I tried to explain that this doesn't make sense and gave them an example of: if I bought a HP computer but the paperwork the store gave me was for a Lexmark computer the paperwork should be for the HP one, NOT the Lexmark one. I couldn't get Apria to understand that paperwork should match the product they gave me, not paperwork for a completely different product altogether. If I could give Apria no stars I would do that. Do not deal with this company. They like to play games and you end up in a maze of phone calls and people. The only customer service is a call center which sounds like it's in the Philippines. The Billing Department, when there is an issue, never tells you that speaking to customer service is a waste of time as they have NO AUTHORITY to provide any resolution. I filed a complaint with the BBB and yet have no resolution. If the CFPB had not been shut down, I would have gone to them. Spread the word and stay as far away from them as possible. They are a scam company meant only to get money from medicare. It's an exercise in futility. As I write this I have been on hold with them for 45 minutes. This is typical! Never again!!! This is an awful company. I do not recommend. Avoid at all costs. I rented a medical device for a week. During the first day, they showed up late to drop off the device. The employee I spoke to on the phone was confused and said the name listed on the rental agreement was someone completely different then my name. I tried to tell her multiple times this was not correct, but apparently she wasn't paying attention. The rental agreement they initially gave me listed two different names, even though I only needed one machine for one person. My service was covered by insurance and the insurance claim was successfully closed out at the end of the week. Two weeks later, Apria randomly charged my credit card $400 by error. I contacted my insurance who confirmed this charge was an error and not valid. I called Apria to get this charge resolved. Every single Apria employee I spoke to on the phone was confused, not helpful, and did not have any valid answers for me. I was placed on hold for over 30 minutes at a time, and the employees still could not provide me with the help or answers I needed. Different employees would give me different answers. It took me multiple phone calls, over 4 hours on the phone, and a week of my time, to get this issue resolved. Unprofessional, unorganized, and poor-quality business. They are the worst company. I needed a CPAP and was sold on a $10 rental for 12 months if I participated in their sleep study. All my data went to them, and I was told I would only be responsible for this amount. However, they billed my insurance for the first month, which was denied because of a deductible. I thought it would be preventative. So, I have been paying $10 each month plus the deductible. In September, my insurance administrator changed. I was 8 months into my contract, but since the administrator changed, my contract started over, which I had no control over. This meant that the months I had already paid didn't count towards anything. Now, I'm again paying the rental and deductible monthly for another 7 months. It's ridiculous. My representative should have explained the entire contract and advised me contacted my insurance company to see what was covered and if a deductible was necessary. They told me they don't do that. The contract only mentioned that the patient is responsible for the payment if the insurance company doesn't pay. In the end, I will be paying $1032.24 for a machine that is worth only $822 at the provider discount price. They were only concerned about the sale not the patient that needed a device to stay alive. read more

CPAP Mask was leaking, called for supplies reorder, sent me over to foreign country, they knowingly sent the wrong supplies after I waited 3 weeks with a leaking mask, then they sent the wrong supplies again. Now we are going on over a month and still waiting for supplies, all while I am unable to sleep. Then they say they will overnight the correct mask which never happened. I have spent multiple days and countless hours on hold trying to get the correct supplies. I offered to go pick up the supplies but they said it is impossible because they don't know which warehouse they are in. To top if off they bill me and my insurance for the supplies that were wrong. WORST COMPANY EVER! I had an accident 1 year ago and had to be hospitalized. The emergency hospital staff requested a wound pump from Apria. I have now been dealing with billing for over a year. I did not sign for the equipment. They have proof of that (invoice indicates "unavailable for signature"). I do not recall having the equipment, but they are basically telling me too bad, so sad. They are telling me that since the equipment was not returned to them, I have to pay for it. WHAT? How can I be held liable for equipment a hospital doctor (guessing here) ordered, Apria supposedly delivered, and now it cannot be found? What do they think I did with it? Sell it at the swap meet? The bill is now over $500. I get calls from them 2-3 times a week. We had a very similar situation when my dad was hospitalized a few years back. Apria claimed he had equipment he never had and repeatedly billed him. Then, my insurance/doctor authorized a hospital bed while I was in recovery at the end of November last year. It took almost two months to get it delivered to the facility I was in. And this was only after repeated phone calls from the medical staff for at home care, me, and the assisted living care staff. This is a charge I will pay for, but I am expecting it to be applied to the wound care pump and I will be in the same boat. I have had the same issues--being hung up on, promises people will call back and they don't, transferred to unmanned extensions, rude "customer service" staff and threats from their collection agency staff. I ordered equipment via Apria for Kaiser over the phone. They charged my credit card. Later they sent me an ePay request. I forgot I'd paid what I owed so I paid again. They charged my credit card a second time. I called Apria billing. They said "it's pending" (even though my credit card has already charged me), and they can't refund the second payment until it posts, ONCE A MONTH. In addition, the ePay says I owe the same amount. So they have my money, TWICE, and don't have a record of it as anything more than pending, because they have a billing system that updates ONCE A MONTH. As if computers weren't invented. Or as if they're making money on the float. Scammers. read more

I called billing about equipment I did not receive and equipment that we did not know was a rental. I was told the invoice for the equipment not received could not be waived and I was liable, becasue their branch shows it shipped. UPS mad the delivery not Apria, but I still have to pay for equipment we did not recieve. Also, the local branch took over 45 minutes to answer my call. I ordered the SoClean machine from Apria Direct on April 30, 2021. Apria Direct told to me that I would get the $100 rebate on the machine (verbally and in writing - see photo). I called both So Clean and Apria Direct to check on my rebate. So Clean told me I didn't qualify for the rebate. When I spoke to Sheena at Apria Direct she assured me that top management was aware of this issue and was working on it. She asked me to call back if I still hadn't received my rebate. I called again today and got the run-around. When I called So Clean customer support again today I was the 210th caller in the "Que"! I'm not sure if this is the Apria Healthcare office my insurance is dealing with, but going over all the reviews of all of their offices, I don't believe it really matters which one I complain about, because they all have the same negative ratings. I am on Medicare and a supplemental insurance. I was approved for this CPAP machine over two years ago. Medicare.gov says, after using this machine for 13 months, I owned it; however, somehow, my insurance company continued to pay Apria for the rental. When my insurance quit paying them, they started charging me. I have contacted my insurance company, and they have begun a fraud investigation on Apria. I have also formalized a complaint to the Better Business Bureau claiming fraudulent activity by Apria Healthcare. During my research, I've found negative reviews of Apria on several websites, i.e., Trustpilot, Consumer Affairs, and two others--all having a high percentage of negative reviews. Do not use this company. It should be closed! The executives should be prosecuted for fraudulent activity concerning a government office. read more

Foot rest on wheelchair was defective and wouldn't lock once you place it in. A local rep, who I didn't get the name, called about the foot rest in a condescending tone. I'm very unhappy with they way they bill. It's cryptic! No detailed itemized billing provided. They just provide you with a bill for the amount they say you owe. After 45 minute runaround with billing, they provided me with a document that showed what I was charged for and cost, including insurance charge and payment information. Why can't that be provided with each bill? I was told it's only an internal document not even available through online portal. It's my business if they want my business. My son had a surgery and the physical therapist recommended a shower chair; we agreed and they ordered it for us the day my son got discharged; driving home a guy from the company called us that they have received the order and the would deliver it the next day, Saturday; I was impressed. The next day they dropped the chair at the door. The attached brochure said it comes with handles, same model # ( as expected for a shower chair for a young boy just had a chest surgery); but the handles were missing; I called him back 5 times and left messages after messages; but he never returned my call; and I got a bill...... now I understand why all reviews are just one star...... read more

The company never fits it due to COVID and when able to reschedule they cancelled the appointment. Received bills for medical supplies per the bill. Received a surprise phone call that I owed $400 for rental of the equipment and need to pay or will be sent to collections. Ask for a supervisor but the representative stated I don't know how to give you the name and phone number. I said it's pretty easy. Name your supervisor and look up phone number. She responded the same way. Ask them to pick up equipment and told to call another number and was on hold for 45 minutes and they hung up. Called back same thing. Called back and insisted not to be on hold and demanded they pick up. Finally able to set appointment for pick up on a Tuesday but not given a time. They said you have to wait.
