After my go to nail salon (A&K nails on 18th and Ave U) closed down, I switched over to ABS nails. This place is really great and seems more hygienic than other places on ave U. They use one time foot scrubs, put plastic bags into the pedicure chairs, and always provide clean equipment. A gel manicure ($20) usually lasts 3-4 weeks and a pedicure ($14) lasts about a month. There never is a wait when I go in, even on a weekend. The women also give a greet mini foot massage while you're getting a pedicure. I haven't been let down so far! read more

Probably the worst gel manicure I ever received. Started chipping in one day. In approximately five days I had no gel on at all. My nails look completely destroyed. Regular nail polish lasts longer than this. Also, the nail technician took hours to do my nails and they did not even look good. The entire time I was in pain when she was "cleaning" around my nails. They are currently all bloody and hurt from what she did. She seemed to have no idea how to even use the gel machine and did not know where anything was. She also tried to charge me more than the price that I was originally told before I started. I wouldn't waste my time here. This place is great. They recently renovated, bought new equipment and also changed the salon name to ABS Nails. I have been going to this nail salon for around 2 years. I get silk wrap done and sometimes I get SNS French Powder nails. The best nail technicians here are Amy and Angel (I heard Vivian is good too). If you want to get any type of French Manicure done go to Amy because she has really steady hands (I will post pictures of the various french nails Amy has done for me). The prices here are great Full Set Silk Wraps $32 and Filling is $18. SNS French Dip Powder is also $32. They have a great selection of regular nail polishes (Essie and Duri), gel, and gel powder. It's better to make an appointment because it can get crowded. read more

I got my eyebrows done today and paid $2 tips on top of my $6 which is what I always do and she had the nerve to ask if I put tip too. I'll be finding another place for my eyebrows and nail color needs. There are so many on Avenue U. read more

I went here yesterday for a pedicure . The place was extremely busy . I waited about 20 minutes . The pedicure chairs are the back massaging ones and it was quite relaxing . I got a metallic sliver color and the pedicure was done very well . They put towel between your toes very fast and neatly so your toes don't get smudged they had flip-flops for sale but I didn't buy them . When I showed up there were ladies already being serviced so they told me come back in half hour. I went to this place twice. I was not impressed with watching people getting pedicures without covering the sink with plastic. Thought that was a law now. I decided I would not get a pedicure there. I was going to do acrylic since it was time to replace the tips. I was talked into trying a powder gel manicure.I had no problem trying something new. I was told this is better than acrylic as it lasts longer and is better for your nails. Today I went there to do another powder gel manicure and when she removed the polish I had a fungus on 3 nails. I have been having manicures for over 40 years and NEVER had a fungus. When I complained they all started talking in their language which was really annoying and very rude. I am sure I got this fungus because their instruments are not clean. I will never go back there and hopefully I will save someone else from getting a fungus. read more

Horrible experience... Gave me nail fungus plus when they put tips on it was horrible ended up going to another salon who asked me if I was the one who put them on it was so amateur of a job. Came here for the first time for the spa pedi and mani. They have a spa pedi with hot stone massage for 20$ which is a really great price and Helen did a great job! The massage was so relaxing that I paid for 10 more minutes. She also did a great job painting my nails. A small downside is that she's a cuticle nazi. She was really thorough and a little aggressive when she was clipping off my cuticles (I actually bled a little). However, I'm not knocking off a star because she did a fantastic job overall. So, a mani and spa pedi with a 20 minute hot stone massage and quick dry came out to 38$, which is the best price I've come across so far. I would definitely come back. read more

This place is great. I think they are pretty comparable price-wise to other places in the neighborhood. Whenever I visit my parents in Brooklyn, I try to come here for a pedicure and wax. The only negative is that you usually have to wait on the weekends, unless you come at an off hour. But other than that, I think they do a good job and they are reasonable. read more

Run away from this place! The staffs are absolutely rude and disrespectful they speak Chinese about their customers with pointing out them. I don't think they say good things about us. I went there to do manicure and she did my manicure terrible plus she hurt my finger. She cut my skin while she was doing manicure. Ultimately, I gave her tip but she found the tip very low which was not low at all for $5 manicure. You cannot expect from me to give $5 tip for $5 work. She started to yell in Chinese with pointing out me. This was full of disappointment. She was so rude and her co-workers were laughing and looking to me when she was talking about me. First of all I wouldn't give any tip because tip is required it is just shows appreciation and this women cut my skin and it was bleeding for two three years it hurt so much when I was touching that area. So definitely I did not appreciate her work would make me to decide not give a tip but I was trying to be nice and understandable. Of course she did not deserve my niceness. I will not never ever go this place again. I super highly do not recommend. They are very dirty and rude. They even do not clean those manicure materials properly. read more
