Nails were excellent but u need to soak them not cut them off or use wild metro card or file it off it hurts

I had been going here monthly for 5 yrs. My routine was to come in, wash my hands, get water and sit down. The (very) last time I was there, I went and my manicurist told me that the cooler was moved to the back as it was being cleaned, but I can go there. I asked, 'I can go in the back?' She affirmed yes. So I did. I went there where they have the washer/dryer, microwave - the little break room it appeared, and filled my bottle as I have been doing for over a year, since they were out of cups once. Well these 2 b!tches began louding exclaiming and carrying on in a language I don't understand. Yes b!tches - 1 is Nancy who I had the misfortune to do my nails once. She hurt me by cutting into my finger and when I pulled back and winced she actually rolled her eyes at me and sighed. So yes B!TCH. The other one is her sister. Runs in the family. I paid no mind and go back and sit with Ling, who I adore and everything is as usual. She files and wraps. I call Sue the manager to schedule my next. We do so. Then she gives me this admonition in a scolding tone, '- we don't allow customers to fill a water bottle and we don't allow customers to go in the kitchen'. I was confused and taken aback. I said this is nothing new, I always fill my bottle. And as far as the kitchen - I didn't go there myself, Ling invited me to go there. I was not combative. I was confused. She on the other hand - the tone, the overall demeanor I felt was so uncalled for and RUDE. I was not a new customer. I'm coming there for years, having brought them customers. So I called her back. I gave her a chance. I told her that I was unhappy bc it's like she is making it like I'm trespassing. I said I do not think this is my house. I don't just walk all over. I didn't even ask to go there. She offered me to go there. Sue sourly says, 'I'm just telling you'. Impossible for me to depict the tone and delivery, but it was rude and unnecessary. She could have simply and politely asked me how I came to be in that room, or said nicely that I could not in the future. Rather than acting like I went into the register. POOR CUSTOMER RELATIONS!! So even though I love Ling and Gloria is nice too, I will not be back. Really such a pitiful way to react over a longtime customer and some water. I guess they have too many timely, regular clients who tip. P.s. I have brought them clientele who are now planning to support me and come to my new place : ) read more

Sometimes you go and get a fire manicure- other times it's pure trash. I don't feel like playing Russian roulette when I pay a cool 100 for my nails. read more

A great and friendly place in sheepshead bay to get your nails done. The staff is wonderful and the treatment is lovely! I got a gel mani and regular pedi that looks great and was affordable. Would recommend! read more

Excellent salon. I came for a pedicure and had a wonderful experience. The nail technician was very thorough. I also upgraded for a callus treatment (additional $8 on top of the $22 pedi) and it was WORTH IT. The salon is super clean. I am so sorry but WTH? In the attached picture, the left side is what I asked for; Ombre Pink-White nails with fake nails. Right side what I got-- pink gel nails with glitter ombre on my real nails. I usually do my own gel nails at home, but I felt oh, it's almost the holidays, why not get fake nails? I walked in no one greeted me, a staff looked at me and then walked away. Then finally, one staff says Ling will have you sit in the second seat. I sat down and showed Ling what I wanted. She said okay, I can do that. After I said, tips not as long as the picture though she said ok. Then she asked me to do you want powder or gel. I said I want it to look natural and not so thick. she said, ok then gel. I thought the gel polish was supposed to go on my fake nails but NOPE. Straight to my real nails. Then I asked her can you fix my chipped nails and add something like fake tips? She said no, your nails are too weak. Well, I don't care if my nails are weak, why would anyone want to go to a nail salon and come out with uneven chipped nails? Add a fake tip in. Come on! When she painted pink, she did two coats. ( The painting is also streaky). I was waiting for her to add white, but she didn't. She went straight to adding the glitter. For a second, I thought I was color-blind. Did the picture not have white color? Did I show her the wrong thing? But then I doubled check the picture and it did have a white-pink ombre. I am super upset about how my nails turned out. The only thing she got right from what I wanted was the pink color. $50 wasted down the drain. read more

The nail techs at this place seem to be inexperience and I had an issue where my finger was cut badly and I was infected. I asked for a refund of my manicure only as I didn't want a free one at the time bc I was upset. The owner refunded me all my services which was nice, and she also said I could come in for a free mani pedi as I was really upset about the cut. Mind you I didn't yell or anything when complaining. So I called to get my complimentary pedicure and was denied saying she already refunded me and I couldn't get "anything for free" well obviously my mistake for trying to give them a second chance based on their offer! Rude and if you look at their Instagram you can see that they aren't good at gels and the cuticles are beaten up pretty badly on most of those hands. I'm sure they'll respond to this and try to defend and it will only further prove my point. Don't go there! As you can see they replied and are being very nasty. How rude to call me a bully when I just wanted what I was promised as a customer! read more

Stumbled upon this place randomly. I called and made the same day pedicure appt. you come in and they make u sign your name and temp check you. I went to Blue Mermaid Nail Salon Today for a manicure and pedicure. They are following all of the social distancing guidelines, limiting the number of customers, and putting the safety of customers and employees first which is most important! Joanna and Sue were amazing. They even took the time to make sure we picked out the right color based on the picture I brought in. Joanna's pedicure was amazing as she really took her time and did a quality job. Sue did an amazing job with my gel manicure and even drew a beautiful watermelon design that was more on the complex side. They were polite, professional, welcoming, and caring. What a wonderful experience! Not only did my nails come out absolutely beautiful and better than I expected but the manicure was also very relaxing. All equipment was clean, as well as the salon itself. As others can maybe relate, I am very picky when it comes to my manicures especially when it comes to cutting my cuticles... my manicurist Vina, did an amazing job. The fact that this place had no reviews should have given me a clue. If I can give them negative stars I would. I came in for a powder gel manicure. Not sure how it's possible to mess up so much, but this place accomplished that. The woman I had didn't buff the nail, didn't clean around it, did not file properly, left powder residue around the nails. After asking the woman to fix it, she apparently couldn't understand what I was talking about. After applying the top coat, my nails looked like they had 5 layers of gel on them. It also took 3 attempts to dry because she couldn't figure out when they were actually dry so she ended up reapplying the top coat 3 extra times. I asked her to remove the gel and asked for a refund after which, I'm guessing the owner, said they don't give refunds. Did not once ask me what was wrong so that they can somehow accommodate me. Once she told me they were finally dry, I left. I came home to find they didn't actually dry so now there are indents on my entire left hand. read more

They do the absolute best with COVID-19 regulations and still produce the best work. I have since moved out of Sheepshead bay but continue to commute to this place all the way from downtown bk because I love their service that much.
