They start off giving you discounts and being very friendly.But as the months go by, you'll learn that they don't really do anything when they come to your property, they stick a brush up, they take pictures.They walk around, but they're not actually doing the job. When I called to complain, they tried to resell it and discount more. When I was adamant about the fact that I had cameras on my property. So I could see that they weren't doing anything, but they were charging me every three months, he abruptly stated that it was a hundred and ninety nine dollar cancellation fee.And when I said, then bill it, he said, ok, build it and then said, have a good day and hung up.So clearly this company is scamming people. read more

I am an 85 year old man who is not particularly tech savvy. I called Aptive to sign up for limited pest management. The "technician" tricked me (intentionally) into initialling a series of items on his phone without explaining the content. This is classified as elder abuse. I agreed to pay the initial basic fee of $60 for services preformed I later received a statement from Aptive for $199 for a breach of contract which I refused to pay. Eventually Aptive turned my account over to a collection agency who sent threatening letters. I gave up and submitted the $199 cancellation fee. In my view Aptive personnel are trained to prey on the elderly as a corporate strategy which is repugnant. read more

Do not, I repeat do not use this shyster business! My mother and father moved out of their house in August, called them to cancel, and my 87-year-old mother has just figured out that they have been charging them $85 a month for pest control. When I called the lady told me in their contract that they needed to cancel and they'd have to pay $190 cancellation fee. I told her that's fine. Give us back all the rest of the money, because she called in August which they have a record of. The only thing they would do is waive the $190 fee, and give one month back. And that was like pulling teeth. She said, that the technicians contacted via phone or email, both of which have not existed since August. And there are copies of receipts that they went out there. The young lady who lives in the house now, has never gotten a receipt, or signed one to show that he was even out there. The "contract" says that they can access the property on the outside. Well, that might well be however they never bothered to leave a receipt showing that they were even there in the first place. Only a picture that their company has on file. I call bullshit! Do not use these people unless you're planning on paying out the nose. They took advantage of my parents I believe making them pay all this time when they were supposed to have canceled on their side. read more

Every summer I have someone come to my door from this "service" and ring the doorbell and knock on the door, even though I have a no soliciting sign. Last year the guy ignored my wife telling him we have a no soliciting sign and this year he did the same to me. They shouldn't be allowed to go door to door as they have no respect. Last year when we were getting ice cream we overheard several of them brag about how many customers they got. I will never sign up for their service. I see in past reviews that the owner has commented on similar reviews saying it is "unacceptable" and they want people to feel "respected". If you truly want that, don't hire people that are rude and ignore people's request to not be solicited to. read more

Like many people here I haven't used the service, but have been harassed by someone from their service. Two days ago he came riding his hoverboard/segway. The garage door was open as my wife was working in there. He came INTO the garage to try to sell some kind of pest control to my wife. Obviously she freaked out and called me outside. I told him we have posted no trespassing signs and that he was hereby trespassed and he needs to get off my property. He gave some lame excuse about not seeing the sign. I live on the lake, so bugs and spiders are a real issue. Aptive seemed to keep things under control (for about a year), and would return promptly if I felt they overlooked something. However, we recently had yellow jackets building a nest inside a hole on our front porch. Although I called Aptive back repeatedly over a three week period, their treatments were ineffective and the size of the nest grew and grew. When I realized the nest had grown into our attic and we now had yellow jackets inside the house, I had had enough. I canceled my service with Aptive and called a small local exterminating company. When I mentioned I'd be moving in a few months and was hesitant to sign a one-year contract, he assured me that the $199 cancellation fee would be waived due to my relocation. Now, with my move approaching next month, I contacted the company to cancel and explained the situation, but they still charged me the cancellation fee. Salespeople repeatedly harass me even though I have a no soliciting sign up right by my driveway and on my door. I have asked them not to come back and instead a different person shows up once to two times a week. I am filing a complaint with the city, as you need a permit to solicit door to door and they do not have a badge identifying as the city requires. They zoom around on little Segways which is very unsafe given that we are in a new home construction development with semis coming in and out. Be very wary when someone comes to your door and asks you to sign up for this pest control service. You will sign a 12 month contract and they will come to your home about three times annually. They do not respond when their pesticide service does not resolve your insect infestation issue. They will patronize you when you call to complain and still not resolve the issue. They will continue to charge you monthly and then will charge a $200 early termination fee. By the way...this is a 0 star review, but Yelp does not give you that option. read more

I've never had their service before, but I will never get it because I've been harassed by their door-to-door sales people for the 4y I've lived in my house; and so has my entire neighborhood. They blatantly ignore No Soliciting signs, have followed people to their homes, disobeyed traffic laws to corner people, and will return to homes multiple times if you don't answer (they came by 7x today) and are extremely rude when we tell them to stop. The door-to-door salesperson who showed up at my home was overly pushy and took far too long to come to terms with the fact that I was not interested in signing a contract. My interaction with him (the most uncomfortable one I've had with a door-to-door salesperson) makes me completely uninterested in considering Aptive in the future. Some of his comments and questions were irrelevant, unnecessary, and as was the case with a previous Google reviewer (Danielle Corrin), disrespectful towards women. When I made it clear that I don't make decisions like signing pest control contracts without discussing with my wife first, his response to attempt to get me to sign something immediately was "if there's one thing I know about the ladies, it's that they don't like bugs and they like a good deal", and "you have a mortgage and car payments, this is just pest control, man". At one point, he even asked me to go get my credit card, and no salesperson has ever said that to me before. Nor has any salesperson before this one ever asked me where I'm from. I understand that there's always going to be an element of pushiness with this sales approach and it can often yield success, but my honest feedback to Aptive would be to examine the potential detrimental impact going about this without sufficient tact can have on their business. read more

AWFUL. I was approached by an extremely aggressive salesman, and when I told him I could not do this due to financial hardship he was extremely pushy anyway. Told me he'd do it for $30 a month, for a year. Then they switched without my knowledge to me paying 100 a treatment for a 24 month agreement without my knowledge? I called about this, said I want to cancel and said it is now 199 to cancel? When I told her that wasn't what your salesman told me, she said it must have been a miscommunication. When I said it wasn't my fault that was the case, she had the NERVE to say "excuse me? how is that not your fault?" Charged me a 199 cancellation fee when I said I literally cancelled because of financial hardship. This hurts my wallet in a critical time, I can't believe how horrendous these people are. Expensive Lies. Once you sign, you're locked in for at least 18 months REGARDLESS of what the sales rep feeds you. Go somewhere else where the prices are cheaper and they treat ALL flying insects as opposed to Aptive not treating certain species of bees. If I could give a 0 Star review I would. Spoke with sales to sign up for vole removal. Told them I did not want any spraying other than eaves for wasps. Was advised that it would only be 2 treatments necessary and there was no contract and could cancel at anytime. They have attempted to do the 2nd treatment but can't seem to get anything correct, not on time, tried to spray my house after customer service was told it was only supposed to be the pellet treatment for voles, rescheduled, came to spray interior of our house that we NEVER signed up for, and was never told of a early cancellation fee. The customer service is so incompetant I can't imagine them getting anything correct. We have had 4 phone calls with them to correct THEIR issue with our service only to be told they will reschedule the service and there is an early cancellation fee after we told them we did not want their services any more. I have had their service for two years and was mostly pleased until the last treatment. I got an email reminder that the service was going to be preformed on a date in late Oct. I was home all day and usually the tech will contact me that they are on my property. No such notice. If indeed they came, they did not come to the door to notify me as they usually did, the tech did not leave a door hanger nor did they flag my property that it had been treated. The only notcie I got was from my bank that they had debited my account for a treatment. I reached out to the company several times and they sent me a notice of a the chemicals used to treat a property. That's it? So they are no longer welcome to come here.
