We signed up for the 1 year deal. The door to door sales guy was a bit pushy but did explain everything so we knew what we were getting into. In our experience the customer service folks and technicians have been courteous and professional. The first couple of applications seemed to go well. They said that the inside of the garage would be treated but they never did. I even asked for them to make sure they treated it on future visits but to no avail. After four treatments they still have yet to set foot in my garage. Most of the bugs seemed to be taken care of by the treatments however not the spiders. In fact, our home now seems to be a beacon for spiders. We get new cobwebs and spider activity even shortly after treatments. Our house looks like it is ready for Halloween with the amount of spiderwebs on the exterior of the house. None of our neighbors homes, and we are in a tight subdivision, have any spiderwebs at all. We had a new, strange but start to show up inside the house. I called for them to come and re-treat for it. They did so, and in a timely manner. That being said, the service technician placed small glue traps about the house. The kind you use for mice. Why they did this for bugs I am not clear on. Recently we have had vegetation around our house dying after the most recent treatment. Not sure if it is related but odd coincidence. The customer service person said that is the first they have heard of something like that happening. I called to cancel our contract and did not have any issues. Again the customer service person on the phone was professional, polite and did ask why we were cancelling. If the spiders could have been taken care of like the rest of the bugs and they completed all of the service (garage) that was promised we would stay with them. On 4/7 I had an Active technician at my house to remove two wasps nests in a vent. When he did the removal the technician damaged my home. The vent cover, cap and screen were both damaged. I have been trying to have Active take responsibility for this damage since and have been told numerous times that my issue has been escalated" and that a local representative would reach out within 48 hours. Absolutely horrible. Pressured my disabled veteran husband with TBI to sign contract while I was at work. Within 24 hours we emailed and cancelled service. Showed up the next month after charging again we demanded they get off our property. Never Showed up but still charged us a third time. We called and got confirmation they would refund us all charges but and that never happened. Now they are telling my bank we didn't follow cancellation policy even though it clearly states you have 3 days to cancel . And we have proof of absolutely all of it. No follow up call by company. My sale rep was Dylan Walker. He ensured me I could try it for a few months and cancel without the fee if i contacted him at the 'cell number he gave me. Of course after a few months of trying to contact him he got back to me that he 'was away on a trip and will get back to you asap'. Now completely ghosted. The bugs are now actually worse than before. They hardly even took care of the bugs nests when they were here because some of the bee nests 'were too high' at 15' up??? They continue to charge me monthly even with the poor work performance . Do not do business with them. I was thoroughly disappointed in every aspect from their work to their business tactics. We had a young salesman come to our door trying to push this on us. He wouldn't take no for an answer at all. Do not use Aptive! After I switched to them from another company, I started seeing bugs inside my home. The product they use does NOT work to keep the pests out of my house. It is a nightmare! In addition, customer service is horrible. I spoke to two different people and they both spoke with a very heavy accent and it was extremely difficult to get them to understand me and vice versa. Worst company I have ever done business with. Their products do not work so plan on still having spiders, roaches etc. They also make it very difficult to cancel. We emailed and called. They said we were cancelled. But then they sent an email saying we had to reply to that email to actually cancel. My wife didnt see the email. So we called again the next month and they charged us $100 to cancel saying we didn't repsond to their email. That is a predatory business practice. I reluctantly signed up for their service again when we had a sales person show up this summer. I was sold that they would take care of the excessive ant hills in our yard and other pests. I had to repeatedly request service sooner than scheduled because we were getting no benefit. At our second appointment I asked about treatment for voles and they placed 4 stations around our property. The rep did not bother to mention that this will attract every vole in the neighborhood. My yard is ruined - torn up 10x the amount than what I was experiencing. Like everyone says, they tell you it takes a couple months and to be patient. I was, I waited 3-4 months and now at 5 months into the contract I was sick and tired of paying for service that does nothing expect ruin my property so I called and cancelled. My reward for that is I have a torn up yard that I've been paying just under $100 a month for nothing and now I had to pay $199 to be done with this company. A few years ago, representatives from Aptive knocked on my door to sell their services. I reluctantly agreed and was fairly satisfied with their work. Some time in 2021, they just stopped coming and I was OK with that to save money. Out of the blue on 6/2/23, I received an auto text asking me to set up autopay. I replied STOP and received a message that I was unsubscribed. On 11/23/23 (Thanksgiving morning) I received another auto text that I had an upcoming appointment on 11/27/23. After replying that I was not a client, they, again, told me I was unsubscribed. On 11/27/23, I received a text at 722am from the technician and an auto text stating they were coming to my house for an appointment. I replied STOP again and told them if they come to my house I will not pay. Then they claimed that there was a glitch in their system that caused the error and they will remove my info. When I tried to contact their management and legal team for the multiple violations of the TCPA and my privacy rights, they ignored me and refuse to contact me. I don't know what is going on with this company but when they refuse to make things right with consumers, I tend to think they are crooked. read more

I live in Minnesota and signed up with this company, they never did get rid of the insects they said they would. Also they wanted to do a treatment in January, the people who set up the appointment's have no idea of the weather in Minnesota in January I called and tried to explain there are no bugs in January because it is so cold and they tried to tell me it would work even if its 20 below, HAHA save your money go to the hardware by a hand pump and insect killer that will work for 6 months and do it yourself for about $30 dollars. I agree with the other negative reviews. I feel like this is a total fraud. The salesperson was aggressive and I can't believe I signed up for a contract with them. I also can't believe I'm paying $150 for them to come each time and do maybe 10 mns. of work. Our house was overtaken by box elders bugs and I have spent over $600 so far this season and we haven't had bugs this bad in years. I found out I can't cancel the service and I have to pay for them to come 3 more times. I will say that the service guys that come out are very nice, but unfortunately, I have little confidence in their products and feel like I'm paying a lot of money without having my pest issues addressed. read more

The sales pitch started by telling me it was a $400 service but they could do it for $300 and after I said no it somehow became a $100 service with a free cobweb cleaning to start with. Unfortunately, I got conned into signing a contract to have someone come out every 30 to 60 days because I have a wasp problem. It says right in my contract that after treatment is done if they are still a problem, they will come back for no charge and retreat. That's exactly what happened. I requested they come back because they were just as bad if not worse and lo and behold here comes a $178 charge on my card. I am so annoyed. I called and got my refund and canceled any future treatments with this company. Of course I had to pay a cancellation fee so they really came out on top. A pretty aggressive "route manager" rang my doorbell at 8pm to talk to me about getting in on a group rate for the neighborhood. If he'd woken my baby I would've been unbelievably pissed off. The price changed multiple times in the few minutes I talked to him. He didn't even have a card and was wanting me to sign up for pest control that we didn't seek out right then and there. First he asked for confirmation that I was the homeowner and then he asked to talk to my husband. I told him I wasn't going to agree to any contract without even getting a card, and he couldn't talk to my husband because we were in the middle of bedtime routine for my older child. I signed up for six treatments over 18 months. They came out in May they returned in August, then wanted to come back in September and October so somehow I was on a monthly plan. And the only reason I had them come out in September was because I had weevils. I still had them in October so I allowed them to come back and that tech told me that I still had weevils was because they had used the wrong product in September and yet the company made me pay another $161 for October for their error. I have paid $727 for 4 treatments over five months. This is ridiculous. Oh, and I still have weevils. read more

BE CAREFUL - SCAM COMPANY 1. Salesman comes saying they will come every 3 months and any service in between is free. 2. Read your contract carefully as I did not. Contract then says they will come every 60-100 days(not 3 months as salesman says). It also said I would receive 6-7 services within 18 months. 3. They charge each time they come out and after about year, I realized they were coming before the 60 days. I was supposed to have 4 services within a year, but I had 8. 4. They also tried telling me they updated the contract to every 50 days at some point and that I had to abide by that even though I singed a contract for different terms. 5. They will try to charge you cancellation fees even though they are the ones taking advantage of you. Just be careful if you choose to sign up with this company. read more

I wanted to say the service technicians we're all very nice, the sales rep was annoying and pushy as they mostly are, but I wanted to rid the ants we've had so I signed up. We had two treatments, 250 dollars total and still had ants in the house, they came back two more times to spray inside and then put any bait out. I still had ants in my house. so I called to cancel and the manager was super rude, saying she can have someone come back out again. Whats the point of having an overpriced spray treatment if I need to have service guys come every few weeks to put bait out-I can go to home depot and get ant bait for 10 dollars myself. The manager wouldn't waive my cancel fee nor let me speak to anyone else. I'd advise going elsewhere for your business. read more

[Update: to give them their due...after speaking with a different rep to cancel and following up with the loyalty rep, they waived my cancellation fee without my request and we're polite and apologetic about the situation.] I rarely sign up for anything that starts as door to door solicitation, and will be doubling down on that policy. The sales reps were friendly. The service tech that showed up for my initial treatment was professional and friendly. No complaints for him. I was told that the follow-up treatment would be in a month or two...possibly a bit longer. They didn't show. When I logged into my account three months later to check my account status, I had an appointment scheduled (without me calling in) within a couple of days. It was rescheduled twice and on the third time, they just didn't show. It's been four months now and I've got wasps so I decided to phone them since I'm under contract anyway. The customer service rep was incredibly rude. She told me that the only way to get appointments or reschedule them is for a customer to initiate. (Obviously not true.) When I mentioned that wasn't what I'd been told, read in the contract, or experienced last month, she got especially snotty about it. I suspect she has this complaint frequently and was already arguing before I realized we were arguing. After a particularly snide remark, I asked to speak to her manager, and she told me that unfortunately the manager was on break and couldn't come to the phone. And so was her manager's manager. Anyway...to save you the trouble...the terms of the contract are incredibly predatory: Two years of service or 12 treatments...whichever comes LATER. If no one shows up for two years, you're still on the hook. But there is a 30 day cancellation clause. It will cost me $199, but completely worth it. I don't deal with companies that treat people like that and have predatory business practices. It was an expensive lesson. Avoid it if you can!! Rule #1: don't sign up for anything without researching it first. If they won't let you sleep on it and research first, run away. The contract is going to bite you later. If you did sign up at your front door and then googled the company...you can cancel the contract without penalty in the first three days. Get out if you can. read more

BUYER BEWARE! We have used Aptive as our pest service since May 2020. They do not do the full job. They didn't identify multiple outside entry points for rodents and now we have a mice infestation in our attic. Of course Aptive doesn't do attics so we had to call another pest company. $10,000 in remediation needed because Aptive didn't do a thorough job and missed multiple entry points. I called today to speak to a manager, didn't offer a refund, only offered to cancel our service. I would say use anyone for pest services but this company with lower than subpar services. read more

The individual who treated our home was fantastic, and we really liked the service. However, the business side of things is entirely messed up. I don't think they have a real office or operate like a real business. Our service was set up for automatic payments, but apparently that stopped working, but we weren't notified until we got a letter that said we were past due and threatening to go to a collections agency. They never made any real attempt to notify us there was an issue before that point. So I called immediately and paid over the phone literally the minute I got the letter. And though we paid it (it withdrew from our account), we are still getting collection letters. This has to be one of the worst-run companies imaginable. read more

Honestly I never really paid attention to this service, as I viewed it as a 'set it and forget it' situation. Sales guys were nice enough and WOULD NOT TAKE NO for an answer. Had it for two years and, again, never really thought about it. That was until I was present for a service; ten people and two trucks for my place which doesn't need ten people and two trucks yet they still missed several webs and areas entirely. Attempted to resolve their (repeat THEIR) collection issue as I had autopay enabled. Met with a collection notice instead.
