This company came out in September and sold me on their services. Thought it was a great deal but I hadn't seen them since then. Wife called yesterday to cancel services since a few months had passed and they tried to tell us theyre going to charge $199 to cancel contract. Almost laughed at that. Wife said we weren't paying that since they didn't hold up their end of the agreement. I believed they waived the charge but the gull they had to tell us that. They continually try to schedule my appointments a month early which ends up adding extra services through a year. They snuck one by me and then refused to refund saying I confirmed the appointment so too bad. I scheduled my last 2 appointments with this company and I will be done with their shady practices. My neighborhood has a no soliciting sign at the gate. An Aptive salesperson persistently knocked on my door today. Typically I don't open the door, but I wanted the knocking to stop so I could go about my day. The salesperson had no vehicle and did not offer a business card. He employed high-pressure sales tactics, asking another question and long-talking every time I said no, so that the only way to get him to stop would have been to interrupt. Finally, told him I didn't want to be rude, but would be closing the door now. As he walked away, this person who had taken up so much time and ignored every attempt to politely decline his pitch, said, 'Yes, that is rude.' Later, I told my spouse what had happened, and my husband said he'd wondered why the conversation went on so long. I searched the company and information is available about their hiring and sales practices. I don't care how good this company is at pest control, I would never hire anyone with so little regard for potential customers' feelings and time. read more

DO NOT USE THIS FAKE COMPANY AT ALL!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! THEIR SALESMAN IS A PROBE FOR BURGLARY SOFT TARGETS (or, was using similar tactics)!!! At 10:57am this morning, a "salesman" named "John" ignored the "NO SOLICITING! SMILE YOU ARE ON CAMERA!" signs posted in our front yard and on our door. He opened the storm door and knocked on the door anyway (also ignoring the doorbell, which was recording him). My wife answered and he lied right off the bat and asked if he could park his truck in front of our house (I later looked at our cameras and there was no truck). She said no. Then he began his pushy behavior and said he represented 26 of our neighbors who used his company for pest control and began his spiel about his company. She said no, we're not interested. He continued to explain how awesome his company was. She said again, no, not interested. By that time I came to the door and told him to leave, said 'bye' a couple times, waved bye, while he switched his tactic and told me he was just there to ask for a bottle of water. He continued along this line and asked me for a bottled water, to which I replied, you can go to the corner store and buy yourself a bottle of water and get off my property. He said, can't you just give me a bottle of water? 'No', I said, 'bye, leave now' a couple more times as he continued to ignore me. He then insulted me and told me what a fine human being I was to which I replied, 'yep', and closed the door. He walked off and into the street. I went outside 45-seconds later and there was no sign of him, which only served to confirm my suspicions his stated intentions weren't true ('pest control' aka burglary soft target probing). I called the non-emergency police line within the next couple minutes. Then I looked up 'aptive pest control' and called their local number to complain about 'John". The guy on the other end could have even been 'John'. When I complained, he wasn't concerned or apologetic and said he wasn't the right department to talk to but that he would pass along my complaint. While I was telling him more info about how 'John' lied and acted very suspicious, he just hung up. Again, feeding my suspicion about probing for soft burglary targets. At the bare minimum, perhaps 'John', or his trainers, learned their salesmanship from those who use those same tactics to probe homes for burglary soft targets. read more

This company screwed me. They just show up unexpected or you might get a text saying that their on their way, but if you work like most people, you won't be there to let them inside so they'll just do the outside. This happened to me 3-4 times in roll. Every time I let the tech know how this isn't what I signed up for. I signed up bc I wanted the inside of my house sprayed. Not for them to just show up randomly. They never once sprayed the inside of my house and I just got a bill collector calling me saying I owe money. They never once contacted me about it. I'm still mind blown. I'm about to call the San Antonio office to complain and then work my way up read more

Always scheduled our appointments on the wrong days so I had to always call and reschedule them. Only the first service took 45 minutes and showed results, but each following service the reps spent barely 15 minutes in the house, and we saw more and more roaches coming back. They charged for an second quarter despite having a service where the rep didn't wear a mask and only sprayed outside. He made up a lie about his mom having cancer and he didn't want to risk going inside. Truth is he just didn't have a mask and probably wanted to go home early. The most DISHONEST company ever!!! First off sales guy lied and said that I had the most expensive one that was on special to charge me every quarter. That was a LIE!! I've been charged twice in one month for $140 at the end of August and $140 every month since then. I called last month and Jason moved me to the basic plan. Now they want to charge me $140 for this quarter so far $700 total!! I called right now and apparently I was misinformed and their is no Jason manager. Incredibly unethical business practices. One of their men showed up at my grandparents' door without a mask to talk to my 91-year-old grandfather MID-PANDEMIC with his mask around his neck. My grandparents' nurse came out to ask the man to stand back and put his mask on. The Aptive man claimed they did the entire neighborhood and tried to swindle them into signing up, but my grandfather told him he wasn't sure. The same salesman CAME BACK after the nurse left and I watched him stand inched from my grandfather and get him to sign paperwork despite my requests to step away. (He did at least wear his paper mask this time.) Thankfully I've been quarantining with my grandparents and I was able to help them cancel Aptive's services today before it became an issue. (According to my grandfather Aptive apparently wanted a check so they could remove money directly from the bank account.) read more

Aptive was supposed to treat my house inside and out on a quarterly basis. "Quarterly" means every three months, right? From February of last year until February of this year, Aptive "treated" the exterior of my house seven times and the interior zero times. A young man came to my door. My neighborhood and my door have signs that say no soliciting. I had to hold my dogs back and he asked if I was ok because I didn't open the door all the way. I said what do you want? He gave the whole classic "my company works with a lot of your neighbors." I said I wasn't interested and closed the door. The next day I'm in the front yard with visitors and he rides by and on his little hover board. He asked if we needed help, whatever that means. My husband said no. That was yesterday. Tonight he came back. He knocked on the door at 9pm. My husband went to door and I held the dogs back. Again, he took awhile to start his spiel. My husband said, no and to not ever come back. This is not acceptable behavior. If he comes back I will call the police. I never hire anyone that comes to the door. But I only leave reviews when the person that comes to the door crosses a line and is creepy. There are so many ways to market a company. Even free ways where no one has to go to anyone's door. If they can't figure out a better way, then they aren't worth hiring. read more

This company is sending either willfully or out of ignorance their door-to-door sales reps into gated communities (like mine) in an apparently willful disregard of our no soliciting and no trespassing signs that are clearly posted at the front gates. These young sales people are often aggressive and outright rude. I fail to understand how these kinds of sales tactics (i.e., rudeness, aggressiveness) contribute to a company's bottom line when this is very clearly extremely bad PR. Let's not forget to mention that in the city of San Antonio, there is a peddler's license requirement for doing door-to-door sales and that's only for public streets (or neighborhoods that are not gated communities with no soliciting postings). The salesman came to my house and told me that he noticed ants and Aptive could help. He gave me a price for the initial spray and then to come out quarterly. He said he would send me the sales agreement and welcome letter. Someone was at the house later that day to do the initial spray. However they could not do the inside of the house because the dogs needed to be locked in the house for 30 minutes while the outside dried. I never received the welcome letter or service agreement. A month later I received a text stating that they just serviced my house. What?!? My dogs are outside. The customer service rep (who continuously cut me off) said that they only did the front yard if the dogs were out but could reschedule in 3 weeks to do the rest. They charged me the full price but only did half the yard, didn't tell me they could come back, and they were out 2 months early! Such a scam!! She also hung up on me when she kept saying "it's in your service agreement" that I didn't get until 3 minutes earlier! I told her I wanted to cancel my contract and I wanted a refund for the service that wasn't provided! She said she couldn't refund me because they came to the house! They came to the house with notice or permission and only did half the work. read more

Had a door to door salesman come to my house 3 times. Didn't answer the first time. He came back again and my daughter waved at him through the window, so I answered my Ring doorbell. Salesman was beyond pushy, told immediately I wasn't interested and insisted I come to the door to hear him out. Insisted again I was not interested. He then pushed for a reason I'm not interested. I decline to provide a reason. I basically have to hang up on him to get him to leave after talking to my front door for a bit longer. I thought he got the message. 2 hours later I take my dog out and he approaches AGAIN. Insisting to know why I'm not interested. I tell him to have a good day and walk inside. No means no my friends. Today I had my quarterly service, and was greeted by Aptive employee, Ethan Imboden. Ethan was very polite, and professional. He asked if we were have any bug issues which I stated "I saw two spiders the other day" and showed him where I saw them. I was also surprised when I noticed he was wearing shoe booties in the house. Shoe booties are great because we take our shoes off at the door. Ethan took extra care of the area where I saw two spiders inside and outside the house. He made sure I was very happy before he left. Next quarterly spray I will ask for Ethan again. I also like the fact the employees make sure they have Employee I.D.'s and everything. I even get an email with a picture and name of who came to the house. It would be nice to get that information before the appointment, but after is ok to. read more

Any company that trains their employees to ignore "No Soliciting" signs is way too aggressive for me. If they have to be that aggressive, usually it is because their service sucks and doesn't sell itself. If they cannot get business any other way, then avoid them like the plague! An Aptive salesman came to my door, expressly ignoring my sign. It is spray painted (in very large letters) on both of my pathways, and says "No Soliciting We MEAN IT!" In addition, I have huge no soliciting signs over my bell at eye level. Now, any solicitor in their right mind after seeing these impossible-to-miss signs, would realize that the reception they are going to get will be, well let's just say somewhat less than welcoming. If he didn't completely understand by the time I was done chewing him out just how unwelcome he was, then he was comatose. First, the idiot claimed not to see my signs. There's no way he couldn't have seen them, so he started off with a lie. Then he told me that my next door neighbor recommended him, which was also a lie, as I called her. She was waiting out the 2 year contract that this company had forced on her, and she couldn't wait to be rid of them. I will be calling the company to complain, though I doubt it will do any good. I was minding my own business, working out in my own garage, and this sales guy for Aptive comes up to me mid stretch position and proceeds to try and sell me pest control. I politely said no thanks we actually don't allow soliciting on our property, and told him to leave a card with info so we could contact them if we were interested in the future. He then acts like he didn't hear a word that came out of my mouth and keeps trying to explain how pest control works to/at me. I again tell him for the second time that he should leave because we don't want solicitors, and he persisted to speak as if nothing I'm saying matters! At this point I was feeling extremely disrespected in my own garage, so I told him to please leave so I can finish my workout. He kept speaking even as I'm walking away from him into my house to get my husband (which I should not have had to do. He should have respected me as a person telling him no.)
