We just had our introductory treatment on Monday, May 21. Kevin Brown was our service guy and he was AWESOME. He thoroughly explained what he was going to do and then he did it. He reported back that he found 8 (!!!!!) wasp nests around our property and a dead mouse and we discussed pest control services for our little rodent friends. We were really pleased with him. Very friendly and polite, not overbearing. So why the three stars? The sales guy who visited our house to get us to schedule service was very grating - probably just an age factor. He was what you think of when you think of a typical door-to-door sales guy. Our municipal police drove by while he was talking to us (apparently, someone in our neighborhood called on him for soliciting; he had the required permits though) and the kid was bragging with to us about how he's so cool with our officers and was trying to show us that he took pictures with the officers from when he's been called on before. It was pretty immature and a waste of our time. Then, he, for whatever reason, could just NOT get my husband's very normal name spelled correctly in the email address so we could receive the documents; I think hubs spelled his name 4 times for the kid. Also, the time he rang was borderline inappropriate for us. We have a 1 year old and he was really cutting it close to her bed time. And, according to him, he still needed 4 more households to sign up in order to meet his quota (yes, he told us that too, and bragged that 4 more should be easy....at 7:30 in the evening....when families are settling down for family time and bed time). The kid's lucky we were already considering pest control services and that we like a good deal. Anyhow. The service guy was great. And if the results are good and continue to be good, we'll keep it up - with the hopes that we never have to deal with a sales guy again. read more

Sounds great if you have pets, want to take the environmentally friendly route, etc. I requested specific areas to address, called and wrote in notes for technician. No response. No direct treatment for the requested pest issue. I signed a year contract that when completed, I called to cancel. Oh no, it's a 34-month contract. I've never heard of a 34-month contract. They keep changing my appointment day to during the week despite repeated calls to them stating I can't be there during the week it has to be Saturdays. I called 2 months ago yet again and this time the guy scheduled me out to the rest of the year on all Saturdays amd put a note on my account that i cam only so Saturdays. I hired Aptive for services every 50-80 days in May. They told me I would receive a follow up service 20 days after the initial one. They never followed up. Then 80 days came and went and they still had not completed services. Despite Aptive breaking the contract, I was told there was no way to cancel without incurring a $199 fee. Apparently the customers have to abide by their contract, but the company doesn't. Insane. And probably illegal. read more

The technicians from Aptive did not provide any pics or proof of the termites just an expensive bill to get them eradicated. July - no improvement in mosquitoes, no response to multiple emails asking when they would service the property September - increased mice activity, Aptive rep said it was because no one has serviced the traps they put out, which can actually attract mice, then checked and confirmed no one from Aptive had serviced the traps they left October - further increased mice activity, called to cancel and ask for a refund, they said they couldn't refund us since they'd already "provided service", charged us an early cancellation fee Also agree with others here that their sales reps are very aggressive. However, after using the service for a couple of months, I decided that the service was poor, was not fixing the issue, and that customer service was impossible to deal with, so I canceled only to be told I had a contact and had to pay a penalty to cancel. I am so angry with them. They set me up for quarterly service yet they billed me every other month. They never came in the home even when I told them I was having problems with ants. They said this was due to Covid. They gave me ant baits that I could have purchased from Home Depot myself which meant the treatment outside the home was not working. I called them to discuss this and the manager blamed me. He said the only way the service could be scheduled this way is if I did it. I have never ever called them or spoken with them to schedule service. The only time I communicated with them was to tell them I still had ants in my home after they treated it and I believe I did that through their app. When I told him that was an absolute lie and this was deception he didn't even consider trying to figure out how to make it right. When deciding to leave the company, they wouldn't let me cancel, as my husbands name was on the account. Had my husband call- they said they cancelled our account and they had him send an email confirmation as well. A week later we get an email that we are scheduled for another treatment for the NEXT DAY, an appt that had never been there until after we canceled our service. I rescheduled to a later date (since they don't allow you to cancel appts) and had my husband call a second time, where they told him our service was canceled. This brings us to yesterday, where we receive information that our next treatment is scheduled for today. UNBELIEVABLE. I rescheduled the appt for later this month (again, as they don't let you cancel an appt). I had Aptive for maybe 2 years. I had found them via the salesman walking around my neighborhood. He was cool. I didn't realize that I was having issues until I got an email notification that my house had just been serviced and I checked my outside cameras because I didn't get any notifications. Come to find out that I didn't get any notifications because no one had been around my house (front or back). This worker straight up lied...I think his name was Ortiz. How many other times had he done this and I just didn't pay any attention? I brought it to the manager attention and they said they needed proof he wasn't there...my proof is that my cameras were not set off at all the entire time he said he was there!!! No footage, no person working. I've had other employees of theirs who would ring my doorbell to announce they were there and I could talk with them through that and tell them problem areas, or I would see them on camera walking around my house. The manager didn't want to cancel my subscription immediately cuz I had like one more service remaining on my contract & if I didn't keep it I would owe them a lot more money. I contracted with them for pest control. It sounded good. First treatment was fine. Still had spiders and ants though, but at least they showed up. The second scheduled appointment was a no show. No call, no follow up, nothing. I called and left a message being told that I would hear back within 24 hours, no return of my call. I called again and spoke with the route manager, he said I would hear from the office. No call. I tried to get a refund and they have refused. Avoid at all costs. They lied and said they were visiting their client (they have no client). They've snuck in and used neighbors names that I suppose thy found in the phone book. I have mixed reviews for Aptive services. Great service; unethical billing. The servicer personnel that actually did the work were great. Very professional. Timely. Effective. The billing practices are questionable. We opted out of auto asking instead for hard copy bills that we would pay. However, Aptive somehow got our information and put us on auto pay. When I realized and called to complain, they said they would remediate. They didn't and took another payment out of our checking account. To me, this borders on unethical illegal practices. I appreciated their service but would never recommend them because of their billing/collection practices. read more

For the second time, the crew working in my neighborhood decided to canvas other neighbors even though we have a no solicitation requirement. When asked for credentials or municipal approval, they always pull out out a different city and then argue about their ability to pester people. Previously I've called their manager and he told me "this won't ever happen again!" and yet it's happening again. Sadly - this time when I tried to call, their automated voice system stuffs me into an endless loop of "we're experiencing higher than expected volumes" with no way to leave a message. I'm not even a customer and this practice of "well your neighbor uses us - you should to" could be done by following our well known solicitation rules. Aptive know this yet continue to let their teams stroll around unmanaged. First time I got into a threatening confrontation where I almost had to call the police - this last time was at least not as bad even though they argued and wouldn't leave. A no is a no. Someone from Aptive came to our door twice yesterday and the 2nd visit was after 8pm. Our city (we live outside of St. Louis, MO) has an ordnance that they are only allowed to go door to door from 9am-8pm. They were knocking on doors way past 8pm. Apparently our neighbors who unfortunately answered their door said they were VERY persistent. They were the same way in a neighboring municipality. I would NEVER do business with a company with persistent employees and who shows up at our door late at night. read more

PLEASE stay away from this company!! They are a total scam company. The scam started with the door-to-door salesman promising so many things that never happened. Second, the give you the first "Quarterly" treatment for a discount, but then come back in 30 days, and charge you full price for that treatment. Then, the scam continues when they start charging every two months instead of once a quarter. The biggest scam of all is just NOT SHOWING UP, but charging for the service anyway. On Feb 10th, we had 4 inches of snow on the ground. I was home all day. I received an email saying they had done service that day. I went out and took pictures of the snow around my house and deck, with absolutely NO FOOTPRINTS ANYWHERE. When I contacted them to not charge me, they transferred me to someone, I waited on hold for 10 minutes, and then they hung up. I was charged and never received a refund. I contacted them a couple weeks later to tell them I was going to call my credit card to get it charged back, they didn't seem to care. I'm not sure how a company like this can stay in business. They keep making monthly appointments for me then charge my CC. Terrible company and they count on you not holding for over 30 minutes to call customer service to cancel the appointment they made for me. every time they make an appointment for me I have to call and hold for over 30 minutes to cancel.
