If you do the research, both on Yelp and Google, you'll understand why. Dr. Sperling appeared on my radar as the only working GE receiving favorable reviews, so I broke down and met with him. He addressed all of my concerns - including acid reflux - with compassion, good judgement, attention to detail, and understandable explanations. Everyone on his team made me feel cared for and supported. The attending nurse, the anesthesiologist, and even the scheduling and billing team did a flawless job. And... I don't have acid reflux anymore.... An imperative health asset if you happen to love Mexican and Indian food! Dr. Sperling, I hope you're feeling the love while I'm enjoying my tacos al pastor!

If you're a new patient your insurance will probably require a referral. I was able to get one in a couple of weeks and the doctor explained the entire process and got my laxatives ordered for the colonoscopy the following month. Post COVId I think this is great. The was anxious about the prep but it went smoothly. I got the earliest appointment possible so I wouldn't have to fast too long. They checked me in and I put in my gown. The nurses and anesthesiologist were excellent. The doctor was great no side effects so far. I was in and out within an hour. Definitely love the central location too. As for parking, yeah they do about 100 colonoscopies a day and you need someone to drive you home afterwards so the parking lot will be busy but that's everywhere in central Austin.

The lobby is on the second floor and there were two windows for check in. When you were up, they used the loud speaker (too much for 6am and only 2 people in the lobby) to call out your name. Sheesh. Afterwards, recovery was simple and they walked you out of the building to confirm you were safely in your transportation home.

Dr. Julie Reardon has surpassed my wildest expectations of what a family physician CAN--and is willing--to do. I think that's in part because she is a phenomenal physician and person, and I suppose the Harvard education and work with Dr. Andrew Weil doesn't hurt. I'll add that all of the folks in her office are equally as competent and caring. If you are contemplating a visit to Dr. Reardon, it's because you haven't been feeling as well as you should--probably for quite some time. Your insurance-covered doctor has run some general tests that haven't shown anything all that extraordinary; and while you may greatly respect your PCP as I do, you realize that time and budget constraints limit the ability to which they can explore your issues. You may have been told that it's your impending menopause, or your weight, or that you perhaps should consider antidepressants. This is the state of medicine in our current era of managed care, and it's nobody's fault. Sometimes it just IS. Know that, if you can afford her services, "Dr. Julie" will leave no stone unturned in helping you find that road to recovery. She's not one of those "vanity doctors" who will hand you creams, diets, and vitamins to make you ageless and extra hot...although feeling better usually makes you look better! She's a serious, science-based physician with an uncanny ability to relate the typically unrelated, and see the "big picture" of your health situation. In our initial visit, she caught on to trending issues I'd never thought of before, including a potential genetic makeup that leaves me prone to certain problems with mood and energy level that are exacerbated by stress...and I've had a year of that! She ran a gamut of tests after explaining the purpose of each one, and uncovered a problem so critical it was a wonder I even had the energy to get out of bed in the morning. I am no less impressed with our follow-up discussions. She has referred to another provider for an area outside of her realm, and also recommended simple vitamin and supplement changes that will do me a world of good. At the same time, she's not that earth-crunchy guru that's going to mandate that that you live on purified air and chants...hers are moderate lifestyle changes for real people living in our everyday world. Dr. Julie doesn't take insurance, but that allows her to spend true quality time with the patients who sign on with her. I will say that, for the fees involved, I feel like it's been a very good choice for my healthcare dollars. I am finally getting some solid answers as to why I've felt HORRIBLE over just this last year, and I finally feel confident knowing someone's got my back while I take steps to get better. I think there are a lot of docs out there who dream of having a practice like Dr. Julie's--and she has made that dream a reality. They just made up a date and lied, saying it was reprocessed and denied on that date. Not how it works! BCBS would know if they reprocessed a claim, and I would see it on my portal. I'm not sure why ARC is doing this. It would have been much easier for all of us if they just did their jobs instead of committing fraud.
