I hired this company for almost two years. They were great, until they completely screwed us over. My new tenants informed me that the pool had algae and was really dirty. I didn't understand why because we had weekly pool service. I reached out to try to understand what was going on. Tara (customer service contact) then told me that they had not been able to access my backyard due to the lock code changing. This conversation happened one day ago (Sept 21st). Our lock code changed in May! I went to my ring cameras and service had not been completed since September. Unfortunately, this was as far back as my ring camera allows me to see. Unfortunately, I can only prove that the service I was being billed for was not completed for 8 weeks. This probably went on for much longer. They claim to have sent me an email on Sept 19th (which at this point I don't even care to go find), but never picked up the phone to try to contact me or fix the issue. When I called to ask them to fix the issue, they tried to charge me for extra chemicals and the extra service to rebalance the pool. Charge me more for a service I had been billed for but had not been complete?!?! They said it was my fault for not informing them of the code. Yet, it was okay for them to keep showing up to a locked code week after week without picking up the phone to call me or text me. They said they had to pay their techs for each visit and that's why they would not grant me any service without additional payment. I also paid for filter cleaning service that the manager said had not been completed due to lack of access... again, there was no phone call for them to try to resolve the issue. Had I not reached out, they would have kept charging and just showing up to a locked gate. This is an awful business practice! They lose a customer over fixing a small issue. I would not recommend this service to out of state owners, STR owners or anyone who is not at the property daily to confirm service completion. read more

We've been clients for a few years before finally cancelling. Our pool technician was great and always did a great job. Didn't have to think about it - he always showed up and the pool was clean. There were plenty other issue that lead to us ending our relationship. Many were resolved with a phone call with Hal, but at the end of the day, there's a severe lack of communication with customers (esp. when it comes to raising prices) and back office support is suffering. We had requested a quote for a resurfacing project that we never received; wasting our time. Ultimately, I had asked questions about a bill that went unanswered. A few months later, I was re-sent the invoice with late charges. They were eventually reversed, but it was operational-type stuff like this that made them a pain to work with. read more

Aqua Blue has updated our pool pump and filtration, and both jobs were done on a timely basis, with a fair price. we have multiple problems with our last pool company over the last 6 months. pool side air leak, Jandy valves incorrectly set, pump loosing prime, floating pool vac . filter blow back in pool ETC. Avoid. Switched to Aqua blue pools because my previous servicer raised his prices significantly due to the chemical shortage. They came and evaluated the pool. Seemed like an honest bunch. The whole month of June that they serviced our pool it was essentially green (maybe a few days of "aqua" blue) and there was algae on the walls even within a day after the pool was serviced. Had them come back several times to address this (which they did - and to their credit they were responsive). But at the end of the month they charged us way more than initially quoted and more than the previous servicer had increased his price too --- a major part of the reason? Because they charged me for chemicals to kill the algae that they never took care of in the first place. At least the previous servicer had kept the pool blue. Not to mention they kept asking me to replace different parts of the pool -- to charge even more. The icing on the cake? They came to my pool one more time to clean up their mess and "service" my pool the following month. Pool was still green after the guy left. I terminated my service with them that day. Then they charged me 63.50 for one 10 minute maintenance session. It was supposed to be 27.50 per session + a surcharge of 10$ for chemicals. They charged me another 26$ for algaecide. I tried to fight paying it but it's not longer worth my time. I paid this because I want to just be done with their terrible service. They don't deserve it. I ended up learning how to maintain my own pool. Not only is it much cheaper, but my pool has never been bluer and cleaner. Also, everything is working fine. So go figure on the "repairs" that were needed. So if you're looking for motivation to learn how to clean your own pool or just like to waste your money, or want to turn your pool into a pond and stock it with frogs, hire these guys Otherwise they are a definite avoid read more

I used this company way too long because I didn't know any better since I was a new pool owner. They did a terrible job at keeping debris cleaned from the pool when leaves would fall. I then had to pay extra for them to blow out the lines. When the pool guy would come he would be here for no more than 8 minutes. There is no way the water can be tested and cleaning done in that short period of time. They also charged me a chlorine surcharge during Covid when I have a salt water pool. I had them treating my stand alone hot tub for about a month and that was a disaster too. I tested the water myself and it was so messed up I had to drain the hot tub. I found a new company and it's night a day. They informed me chlorine is not needed with exception to during some of the hotter months. For the poor service they are not worth the price. read more

Trey Lewis came out to take a look at our pool pump after my home warranty company sent out two other guys to take a look, assessed the issue, and denied the claim because they said it wasn't "normal wear and tear", and quoted me to replace the entire pump for $2500 (American Home Shield.... AVOID BECAUSE THESE OTHER COMPANIES ARE COLLUDING WITH AHS!!!). Trey found the issue and recommended replacing individual parts that ended up being only a fraction of the price and saved me a lot of money. Honest and Professional, Trey was able to fix it within a few days and got my pump running again. Highly recommend... he was a magician. read more

We have been using Aqua Blue for almost 5 years. Unfortunately, the service has gone way downhill since they have been servicing our newer pool. Our pool does get the chemicals and is never green, which is the reason for the two star rating. We initially met Hal, and he was personally servicing our pool at our last home, but since he has expanded I can't say we get the same treatment. Our pool walls are NEVER brushed, although they claim they are. We have a ring camera in front and back and our pool technician only skims the top of the pool and is gone within 5 minutes. They have had several price increases, and that is the least of my worries as long as they are doing the work. When I recently reached out to get the issue fixed the office manager, Tara, was the one to respond and left a lot to be desired. Hal had always been reasonable, so I am unsure why he would hire such a rude person to handle matters with clients when she clearly has no customer service skills. Honestly, her response to my husband and I made me want to end service immediately, although our initial goal was to just address the issues and move forward with the company. We have used them at two houses now and referred them to several people, so maintaining the relationship was the goal. I am hopeful that we can find a solution and will update my review accordingly, but this time I would suggest you find a different pool company that actually does the work and doesn't just care about you paying a fee. read more

This company was very interesting to deal with ! Back in early February a pool tech came over unannounced. I checked my security camera and he was peeking around my cars and side yard . I asked who he was and he said my property management sent him over for pool maintenance. I let him know , moving forward to just call me ahead so I know who is at my door . I let him in . He looked at our pool filter and said it needed to be replaced asap and it was " hazardous " . He cleaned the pool for 10 mins and I reminded him to call me so we can schedule the new filter to be replaced . Months went by . Didn't get a phone call or email . Nothing . My property management called and told me our pool water was low . It's not btw , it's never low . And I called to ask how did they know ? No pool company has been here since early February. They replied back saying we are scheduled for weekly service & we don't answer the door .... Hmmm I check our security cameras very VERY frequent . The only humans at my door : Us & the mailman LOL . And asked how did they see the water level if no one has been here ?! That's a scam . The staff tells the owner ( Hal ) and our property management group they come by .. they mark us off the list and be on their way . Easy money for them right ? LOL That's actually a very crafty idea to say "water is low " so they look like they have been here ! LOL ! About 5-6 weeks ago the service manager said they need to replace the filter ! Hooray finally ! I made sure to plan in advance because our gate has no access . The service manager insisted we need our pool serviced weekly and to leave a key . Again , there is no gate access and I was in the phone with him for over an hour explaining that's not going to work . "Oh just leave your gate unlocked " ummm sure buddy LOL , who leaves their gate unlocked all day ?! 2nd week after receiving pool service ( I would come home from work to let pool tech in ) we noticed black spots on the bottom of our pool . We haven't had this issue ever ( been cleaning our pool well for 9 + years ) I addressed this with the service manager and his reply was "your property management does not pay on time , I'm not addressing this " I was shocked .. but .. why keep insisting on cleaning our pool then ? If I were the pool company , I would not do business with anyone who did not pay their bill on time . 3rd week , new pool tech shatters our pool tab holder . It wasn't cheap & it was a unique holder we enjoyed . It was only a year old . Plastic was left all over the pool deck , luckily we caught it in time - if not the sharp plastic would of went into our little dogs paws . We have pix and surveillance camera videos of the pool tech dropping . We requested a different pool tech moving forward . The service manager did not like that & told us we are "pointless " and laughed at us . I spoke to Hal the owner , seems nice enough . Explained allllll of the situation. He explained how they don't tell their customers stuff breaks and they just replace the next week . He said their customers don't want to hear how things break . I was very confused by this because if I ever break anything - I speak up & apologize. Things happen of course - but it was so disrespectful how plastic was so sharp and everywhere . I am a current customer getting regular pool service from this company. I would appreciate it if the tech you send to my house for regular maintenance would, when he is complete, clean up after himself and shut the gate he entered through - it was clearly closed when he first came in. Leaving items on my property strewn around in a state that he did not find them in shows a lack of respect by a representative of your company, and the unclosed gate adds an element of disregard for safety and security. One of the core components of a business such as yours is trust. I need to be able to trust that a complicated system is being taken care of by a competent, respectful technician. Seeing things seriously out of place and a disregard for my property tends to breach that trust. read more

Going to write a review for this company before they even started servicing my pool. I called this company by mistake thinking they handled my warranty. Rather than ignore, they left me a detailed message explaining I had called the wrong company and even left me the phone number to call the correct company. I was considering looking for a company to service my pool and without being a customer, they already provided great service. I called them back and explained my in floor cleaning system wasn't working and the warranty company couldn't make it for a few days. I am on a well so was concerned that my water was starting to turn green. Again, without being a customer they walked me through shutting off my cleaning system, asked me details about the chemicals, adjusted RPM on pool cycle and recommended I shock the pool . I immediately hired this company! They will start servicing my pool on Tuesday. If they provide great service without me actually being a customer, I am looking forward to them taking care of me as a customer. read more

After seeing the new LED pool lights, I was amazed at the brightness and energy savings that switching could afford me over my existing one. So I contacted Aqua Blue to ask them to replace the light and to provide me a quote for replacing sand in my pool filter. I made an appointment for May 6th. That day came and went, with me calling at 5pm and leaving a message inquiring as to why nobody showed up (yes, I had left work early to wait). No call back. On Monday, May 9th, a pool tech showed up to tell me that 1) our pool light was working fine and 2) that Aqua Blue does not service sand filters. Later that evening, I received a quote for replacing the sand in my filter (I was confused too) AND a bill for $89 for the tech to tell me that my current light worked (which I was well aware of?!) This was absolutely infuriating, as I had asked to have my light REPLACED with an LED one -not told the current bulb worked just fine. I even called to complain. Nothing. Not even an offer to apply the $89 as a credit toward their already overpriced fees for installing a new light. The next day, I called Acrobat Pool Tech, who immediately sent a tech FOR FREE to verify my light. He literally dove into my pool to unscrew the existing light and pull it out to verify size etc. Again NO scammy trip charge, and he was extremely knowledgeable. His prices are much lower as well. Needless to say, I'm very unimpressed with Aqua Blue. Terrible service. No show on the day of schedule, $89 for worthless 'advice', and their quoted fees are ridiculous. read more

I've used Aqua Blue for my pool maintenance for about two years now. They are the best. My pool is always blue, clean and ready to use. I don't lift a finger to keep it this way because of Aqua Blue. They send me email notifications of their visits so I know when they stopped by. I also like their electronic payment option. Pool service is an extra monthly cost but I found their pricing fair and that it actually saves me money since I'm not spending extra money in chemicals trying to shock the pool all the time. I've now been using Aqua Blue Pools and Spas weekly pool service for almost a year (shy a few months) and I have been very happy with their service. Jose, the pool tech assigned to my pool, has been awesome. He is here every scheduled appointment, checks in (GPS check in is neat!), does his thing, and off he goes! It's like magic honestly which is fantastic. Our pool has been looking amazing ever since Hal and his team took over. Jose not only does an awesome job keeping my pool clean but he's been very helpful when ever I have a question or concern. I just simply meet him at the pool when he arrives and he greets me with a smile and is ready to answer questions! I can't thank Jose enough. All in all I'm very pleased with the service and company. Talk about patience!!! We thought it was going to be a quick one hours session with company's Pool School, this turned out to be more than one hour, on three different occasions. We are new pool owners, Al and Nick rocked it. Al walked my husband through what we needed the first two rounds. On final 3rd round, both Al and Nick helped us understand how to care for our pool, run the WiFi box, and troubleshoot. The tile in my pool was breaking off and I was worried that it was going to cost me a fortune. A friend told me about Aqua Blue Pools and they were giving a discount to new customers. Hal came out and gave not only fixed the tile, but also cleaned my filter which has made a world of difference in my pool pump. I know nothing about pools but I'm glad to have an honest company who is affordable and has great customer service! read more

Wish I could give a zero. Most unprofessional pool company I've ever dealt with. They gave less than 30 days notice for a price increase, claiming they sent a notice which I never received and they're excuse was to check spam. They supposedly sent the notice on April 8th saying the month of April would increase and they refused to adjust it. I know several other good pool companies out there, so don't waste your time calling this place! Their level of service does not meet what they charge. Not to mention I asked for a quote for remodel work and they never followed through. Horrible company!! read more

The worst pool company ever. They are so unprofessional. While under their service my pool had green algae and different technicians would be sent weekly without informing me. The techs didn't know anything about pool service and ruined my pool filter by not doing any backwash and they broke my barracuda pool cleaner as they didn't know how to put it together. I fired them and had to hire a new pool company to fix everything at a great expense. They also have horrible bookkeeping and I had to constantly make calls to get the invoices fixed. I requested a quote through yelp. Aqua blue got back to me within a few hours and got me scheduled for service for my spa problem right away. The service manager Nick came out and talked me through what he was checking and I just want to say he was great. No funny business even though I know nothing about pools or spa's. He gave me pricing for a long term solution but got my spa heating up before he left. I really felt like he was interested in helping me and I am going to be changing my weekly pool service to these guys. I had worked with this company ever since they bought it from the prior company. Their billing was extremely inconsistent. In August, they back billed me for invoices from January. I just started with Aqua Blue Pools and Spas and they understand the quality that I am looking for and have amazing follow through with their process and billing. I know what I am pay for and why. I get pictures of before and after events. There is no guessing on whether or not my pool was serviced. They also fixed the problems that the last company I was using had left broken. Pool cleaning technician never spends more than 5 minutes per week servicing the pool and equipment. I have not had a filter change in 2 years, although they send me a notice that it's time. The technician does a very fast and spotty job of sweeping down the walls and does NOT clean anything out from the bottom of the pool...he only skims the pool. I end up cleaning the bottom of the pool. In addition, they have raised their price twice in the past year, and I have never been informed of the rate change until the bill arrives. read more

We do the weekly service all year and they've also helped us out with installing a new pool light and replacing the pop up heads on the floor of the pool.
