We've dealt with both Sales (Lucas R) and Service. We have also had interactions with Kyle Kelly. All of it has been really outstanding. They clearly understand the concept of customer service and priority. Recently hauled our boat down for a special repair - Monday AM - left here early - got there at 8:30 - and their service techs were waiting on me. Literally 46 minutes later - I was OUT of there - with FIXED BOAT in tow and headed back to Kansas City - and home by 12:30. Sometimes you run into an operation that "gets it" when it comes to customer service - and they certainly do! They get my highest recommendation and have earned me as a long term customer.

Calling and checking on prices, The Getaway was the first that appeared to be interested in working with me and patiently explained they didn't do little (we were a party of five) fishing boats anymore. We ended up getting a new Tritoon that could probably hold a dozen persons, no problem. Secured our fishing licenses and found the rental location where a young man was waiting with a side-by-side, willing to haul our gear down to the dock. Checking in was smooth and easy, instructions were given, and directions and ideas shared on the best areas to fish. Well, the fishing wasn't great, although we changed location a few times, and we hoped to stop at a dockside restaurant, so returned the boat a bit early so we wouldn't go over our allotted time. The Tritoon performed beautifully (hair trigger on the throttle), powerful motors, shade, pockets for storage. They were right--the Triton was very stable, waves no problem. Expected to pay for gas in addition to quoted price but apparently overlooked or forgot about the cleaning fee. The young man hauled our gear back up the hill. Would love to return with a larger party and really have some fun.

She started talking bad about a different customer in front of me and my fiancé, which is just really unprofessional. The few encounters we had with her (upon pick up and drop off) was just unpleasant. The other staff were great and super helpful. The boat was disappointing. Only 1/6 speakers worked and we had a hard time getting it started a few different times. For over $700 for the day, I guess I was just expecting a boat that was fully functional / working. We booked and fully paid for 4 days rental in February this year. The day we arrived in July we were told the pontoon was not available for the first two days due to maintenance issues and that we should not worry because he had arranged that we can rent from another company for those two days and he will refund us the costs for the two days. He could not refund us on the spot because his bookkeeper was allegedly away, but he would mail a check for $900. Needless to say the check never arrived and despite emails, phone calls and texts for the last month and a half absolutely no response. This guy is a smooth talker at the time and it is clear he carefully plans to rip off just enough customers to still get some good reviews. We put our trust in him and it turned out bad. Do yourself a favor and don't take the risk, take your business to another reputable company. Had I read these reviews before we discussed to use Lake Toons boat rental I would have avoided them. There are continuous attempts to defraud customers.
