Our food was good.. but I ordered a glass of Cabernet and with my first sip I knew it was an old bottle.. when I asked the server about it he took it back right away and brought a new one, and it was a fresh glass.I feel it should of been a fresh bottle from the start!! read more

I am A member of the winetasters of Naples and we went there last night and had a very nice evening.

New place. Had beet salad..great! Mussels as an appetizer. If you like a thick sauce, not for you. But the fresh veggies and herbs in them were great. Also had Dover Sole... Awesome! The sea bass was good, very different flavor.. Heavy on the Asian side. One of the best things was the olive oil dip for the bread! read more

My husband and I really enjoyed this restaurant. Seated right away, attentive staff. Mussels and sea bass were delish. The owner and his son were hustling it up. Were prices high? Food was very tasty but not great. Was seated at a high top table near the bar which meant that the bartender was our waitress. Weird. Owner kept walking by and then stood next to our table to speak to friends at the bar yet never stopped to ask how we were doing or making some sort of hospitable gesture. Thought that would be a reasonable thing to do considering the price of our food and drink and that it's his place. Overall price and taste was mainly in line with other restaurants on fifth. Service was rushed. I left satisfied with my meal and glad I tried it. Although I will head elsewhere next time on fifth. read more

Stopped here after local boat ride. The decor was pleasant and the staff friendly. Recommend eating here in off season when they have specials otherwise prices high for what you get but then again this is Naples. We got the three course meal for $20. Crab rangoons were tasty but not traditional. My father enjoyed the gumbo. My flounder florentine was very good as was the crispy spinach and mashed potatoes. Stopped in for a late lunch after wandering up and down 5th Ave. Restaurant was mostly empty. No idea why - we had the best grouper sandwich and fish tacos we've had in ages. The juicy grouper was pan fried and served on a tender ciabatta bread with meaty roasted tomatoes and a wonderful remoulade. The fish tacos rivaled anything we've had in southern Cali, with a kickin' mango salsa and slaw overloading the flour tortillas. The fresh-made fries were almost too much to finish, but they were too tasty to leave on the plate. Service was friendly and prompt. read more

Wife had the fresh catch of the day and was great flavor and great experience. Smoking allowed on patio made us move inside. My pasta was very good. It begs a 4.5 but I could not put that in. Service was very good. I hope they are visited by more people. read more

The wait staff was nice and knew a lot about the area :) the calamari was excellent and had a lot of the tenical pieces which was great. This is a great restaurant. My parents and I, while on a business trip had an excellent meal for lunch. The food was great. We had a whole fish served tableside and the waiter had no qualms about splitting portions between the three of us. He also had an excellent suggestion for wine. Delicious food and great service. We went for lunch and the portions were perfect. Every meal had great bursts of flavor and nothing was bland. Since we went around lunch time, the restaurant wasn't as crowded as I can see it getting for dinner. There are many restaurants on 5th Ave but I highly recommend this one! read more

Stopped in to avoid the rain one afternoon. Food was good, but service was mediocre...which was surprising since it was empty.

One word of advice. Check your bill and when you get your credit card statement, check that as well. Not a big deal but our signed credit card slip of $128.07 was changed when filed with Visa to $132.07. The waiter changed our tip of $20 on $101.000 (for just average service) to $24 and changed our total. After calls to the owner, we were sent a check for $4 and a defensive "clearly it was an honest mistake". Glad he thinks so. It's not easy to mistake a zero for a four nor to accidentally hit a 4 when you meant to hit the 0, nor to not notice the total wasn't the same as the check. I understand this is a common habit among some waiters -- who will notice such a small increase? The only reason we even checked was because of other reviews mentioning billing issues. Glad we did -- although again it's not about the $4. The sad part is we actually liked the food, but we don't need to go back. read more

One of my favorites on 5th! Always helpful and very attentive staff! Great food! Always a yes for change to accommodate for dietary issues. Don't waste your time or money. Food good enough, although cold, had to send back and on expensive side. Not worth putting up with rude NASTY manager... loud, disrespectful and could care less. Unless you want to get drunk with a bunch of drunks, including manager, keep on walking. read more

Had lunch here after the St.Patricks day parade the waiter seemed to treat me very different from the other customers, he seemed to keep giving me glances as if I was doing something wrong and it made me feel uncomfortable, worst experience I've had at a downtown restaurant. will never be back and will never recommend. read more

I wish I could give this place negatives stars. As we walked in we should have realized we were in trouble. No diners, 1 person at the bar. Restaurants on all both sides and across the street had many diners. The owner / manager is standing in the middle of the restaurant, doesn't greet us. We grab a table by the bar. Ten minutes later a waiter appears, gives us 1 menu for the three of us and takes the drink orders. Ten minutes later, after the bartender pours 2 glasses of wine and a club soda we get our drinks and order a lobster roll to split while we're taking turns reading our single menu. Ten minutes later we get our roll, no napkins or utensils of course. By now we are sweating because the front door is open and the place is very hot. Now things take a turn for the worse. "Lobster" is wrapped in a rice wrapper which when picked up is slimy, not greasy, slimy. My daughter takes 1 bite and says how horrible it was. I took 2 bites which was a big mistake since 30 minutes later I return my bites back where they started into the toilet. After the 3 bites I paid my $31 check and we went across the street for a great dinner. read more

Went to aqua the other evening after a family dinner at home. Arrived about 915 pm. They were crowded but saw about 5-6 tables available with no one else requesting to be seated. Asked to be seated for dessert and drinks with my family. The young lady started to seat us but was dramatically interrupted by the maitre d' who announced "full menu only, no desserts only". The rudeness was stunning. They have lost a customer forever. Many other fine restaurants in Naples. We were there for Valentines Night. We noticed the "special menue". Nothing so special, except when you compare the prices to the regular menue some items were almost double! $100.00 for crab legs!!! NYC Prices for a mediocre meal. When I asked how the sea bass was prepared all the server said was grilled. No explanation, no offer of of any lind of other preperation. When I asked if I could order the cheese flambe for an appertiser, i was told no, they are too busy! The Calamarie was excellent, but again, gouged because it was Valentines day? We odered dteal and the sea bass, while both entreis were fantastic, still not worth the $55.00 for Sea Bass anywhere however. The accopaniments were awful. Both were served atop brocolli that was hard and just not ediable, the rice dish served with the steak was beyond bland! As for dessert, I ordered bannas Foster. The server told me that the chef would not make it, they were too busy! I would of paid extra, hell, I was paying almost double from the regular menue anyway. The check was brought over BEFORE our last drink of the evening. I guess the wanted us out. Note to Nalples resturants: The local folks supported you through some very tough times. 5th and 3rd avenue in particular. Support local business and we did. So business gets better, and you forgot us. Shame on you. I can see raising prices for a true special menue, all you did was gouge us. read more

We eat out in the Naples area every night and the best meal we've had in a long time was this week at Aqua on 5th Ave.S. We dined with friends and all of us raved over our food. Our starter Cesar salad was very artisticly served with just a slight grilling to add flavor and interest. Two of us had the "whole fish" snapper and bronzino which was accompanied by vegetable risotto. I can't say enough about how good it was. I do think in the "sea" of restaurants and that it's not on "Open Table" Aqua gets overlooked but if you want a terrific meal this is the one I'm recommending these days. read more

Came to restaurant for a drink before dinner. Restaurant was nearly empty. At bar, two bartenders were almost non responsive and very rude. The environment was not hospitable. We had drinks and a couple of appetizers that were not great and left. We decided to spend our money somewhere else. Would not go back or recommend to anyone. read more

We were excited about trying the new seafood restaurant in town. A bit more expensive than most already expensive restaurants in Naples. Ambiance is weird and crowded. Servers pushed everything that was costly. Food was mediocre at best. Sea Bass tasted fishy and I paid for it all night, got as sick as a dog. Poor wine list. Bottom line: I can't wait for the next restaurant that will occupy this space, which will be sooner than you think. As of this moment, a tourist trap. read more

If I could give zero stars I would have. First of all after calling to make a reservation the owner was told of a birthday in our party of four. He said to ask for him and he would make sure a special desert presented. We met the owner and were seated outside. We were offered water then didn't see our waiter for about 15 minutes. Another waiter came apologized about him just getting our table and took our drink order. Another 30 minutes later he returned to take our order. Three of us ordered fish specials and one roast chicken and a cup of Cuban gumbo and calamari appetizer. The calamari was very good as was the soup and came out in a timely manner. Then more waiting. I asked for more water and never got. Finally our main course was served but that one of the fish specials was no longer available. Really? He couldn't let us know that when he put in the order? Our waiter apologized and said another fish dish would be ready quickly. None of our entrees were hot just barely warm even the late fish entree. The first 2 fish dishes were filleted table side and were full of bones. The fish was overcooked and mushy. Vegetables were cold and the chicken was average at best. I asked the waiter if the side of vegetable risotto had peppers in it. He said no. Guess what? Peppers! No mention of the birthday at all when we were asked if we wanted desert. Not worth the $$ and bad service. Never again not even off season! read more
