We were in town for another visit and decided to go back to Aqua on 5th for Happy Hour. It was probably around 5 pm on Sunday and there were quite a few people at the bar, but otherwise the restaurant was not crowded. The vibe at the time of our visit was laid back and casual, which was what we wanted at that time. We both started with an Aquatini, which was tasty. For starters, we both got the clam chowder. It was thick and flavorful. For main course we chose the shrimp linguine. I thought the portion size was good and it had a lot of shrimp. The flavor was good and the pasta & shrimp were not overcooked. For dessert we both chose the Key Lime pie. It was yummy. We also had a Sour Apple Martini with dessert. Our service was great. Our group of four had dinner at Aqua on a weekday evening. First our waiter was very knowledgeable and attentive, but not overbearing. The food was quite good and we enjoyed our meals. Finally, the evening entertainer played songs we enjoyed. The restaurant wasn't very crowded, so we interacted with him verbally as we sang the lyrics to some of the songs. I went out last night and had a great time dancing--but unfortunately, the staff made me feel like a criminal. Between songs, I stepped outside briefly just to see what was going on outside. I never left the venue, just poked my head out for a moment, leaving my drink and purse at the bar. Still, the staff kept watching me suspiciously, as if I was about to run off without paying--for a single drink! I was embarrassed and uncomfortable. Then came the kicker: when I went to settle my tab, they charged me $24.50 for one espresso martini. I felt completely ripped off, overcharged, and unfairly judged. I was angry. I didn't leave a tip and walked out--only to have the bartender follow me outside to complain that I hadn't tipped her. What kind of place is this? The whole experience felt shady. We invited several of our friends to go there for dinner a few days ago . Morko are server ruined our evening and it was very embarrassing for us as we raved about it. He was rude from the beginning. He took 15 minutes to get our 1st round of drinks . Once we order an app he wasn't seen again for over a half hour . Our drinks had been empty for some time . Our 2nd round took a very long time as well . Tables near us had very attentive servers . When he did show up he consistently blamed the bartenders and poor management. Which we knew was a lie . Once we received dinner - again he disappeared. Never once came back to ask us how everything was? Or if we wanted another drink ( which we did ) We were planning on a nightcap and dessert yet we knew it would be a disaster and we might be there another hour due to our server . Way overpriced, even for the area. The general manager sits at the bar and drinks all day and makes sexual advances towards the staff. Came here impromptu at the recommendation of the Bell op at our hotel when I asked: "who has the best seafood in town?" - despite having done my best Yelp research from back home in Colorado and making a few other rezzies. Sat outside immediately - nice. With a toddler. Was brought water immediately - great. Waited then for over 20 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us.... When the waiter finally came he just told me how slammed he was and that he'd make it worth my while. I ordered everything we needed all at once and 20 min later, still didn't have my glass of wine. They did bring my kid's pasta asap which was nice. But the rest of the meal I was missing water, missing a fork, never knew if my sea bass would come and kind of just wanted to get up and walk away. With paying - but it was tough to even get a hold of someone to pay. I had to leave the table and chase them down and tell them our shuttle was leaving. If the food were fab I wouldn't care but the sea bass was too salty and the crab cake was too runny. With a million places here you can go it's real ballsy to be that apathetic. read more

Delicious Arnold Palmer Martini! Just stopped in here for a quick drink and this totally hit the spot! Perfect cold drink for a hot night in Naples! They also have live music "Joey's Rockin Piano" and he was really good! He was playing some disco along with modern pop and even country!!! Really hit the genres for everyone! I have given Aqua it's fair share of opportunities/chances. But I have to play by the rule of baseball: 3 strikes and you're out! My friends and I have always enjoyed what we consider a "happy hour hop" sampling drinks and food, up and down 5th ave! Aqua has been on that list since the beginning because their happy hour goes until 7pm (great!) However, the drinks are always TERRIBLE. The most amazing happy hour ! It's from 4pm -7pm in the bar . You will not get a seat after 530pm or be stuck on one of tiny bar tables . I loved my cucumber martini $7 for top shelf . The $12 seafood salad was insane ! So much fresh seafood. The garlic shrimp $10 came over broccoli with toast points . The star of the show was the coconut shrimp . The bartender was very very busy and he was moving as fast as he could . The food came out super fast . My wife and I stopped in during the Naples car show a couple of weeks back. The place was packed. We ordered one drink and one beer. I gave the lady my credit card and then we continue to have two more beers one more drink, and a shrimp appetizer when I went to close my bill out she said she didn't have my credit card. Meanwhile, she'd already been ripping shots behind the bar so obviously she didn't know what she was talking about. The second bill came and it was $80. We left a cash tip and left. To my surprise when I got in the car low and behold, there was an original bill on my credit card for $31 plus the $80 of the second bill. We immediately called and said we shouldn't have been charged twice. After getting much runaround from Nancy, apparently the manager or owner she said to stop in because it looks like they overcharged us by $20. We stopped in today to see if we could get a drink or a $20 credit and she said she would just buy us a drink for our troubles. No wonder why the place was empty at 3 PM on Thursday afternoon. We ate here a couple years ago when visiting Naples and had the best time and couldn't wait to come back. But when we came back this past weekend we were extremely disappointed. It was our one night we ventured downtown during our trip and we were so excited to make a night of it, but unfortunately we got off on the wrong foot with Aqua and cut our night short. We walked into the restaurant and the lights were super bright and there was no music playing, so the ambience was subpar at best. Our waiter never came over and introduced himself... we were brought water by a bus boy and then waited for 20 minutes before our waiter finally came over and said "okay are you ready to order" without ever introducing himself, discussing the menu or anything. We just went ahead and ordered but our waiter was super short and unhelpful when we asked any questions about the menu. We finally got our two martinis which were AWFUL and $24 a piece, despite being listed as 20 on the menu (which was still too expensive). The martinis had tons of ice in them to the point where you could chew it, and we are convinced they either did not put alcohol in the martinis or they switched out the premium alcohol for a much cheaper alcohol, regardless, they were not good and certainly not worth the price point. We did the prix fixe menu which gave us an appetizer, a main and dessert. The food was actually pretty good, but it was totally spoiled by the experience and the fact the waiter never once came in and checked on us, and never asked us if we wanted another drink. I was going to order another drink, but by the time the food came I was just ready to get out of there. The waitstaff acted so scrambled and stressed despite the fact not even half the tables were full, which made us all feel unsettled because the energy was just off watching waiters run around with the lights on and not checking in on the tables. We planned to have a slow sit down meal and relax, but we ended up having one drink each then our meal, and then we were out of there in under an hour. Overall, it was a really disappointing experience and the service felt just like a fast food sit down place with how quickly they tried to get us out of there, despite the fact the restaurant was literally empty. I unfortunately will not be back considering you can eat way better meals in Naples at restaurants with better prices, better wait staff, and a better ambience. Sad and disappointing considering this used to be one of our favorite spots. I would avoid. read more

First of all, I will, give the food 2 stars as it was (for what we had) adequate. But most importantly, I'm commenting on the help and the lack of training by the owners and/ or corporate personnel. I will preface this as two people looking for an enjoyable lunch. My husband and I heard about the new Aqua location in North Naples and wanted to try it. We entered Aqua about 2:30ish for lunch. There was one couple seated, otherwise the large restaurant was empty. We stood waiting for someone to acknowledge us. Finally, the bartender asked if she could help. Interesting greeting, HELP us? I asked if they were serving (understanding that many establishments close to set up for dinner.) Her response was , 'we're open". I asked again, are you serving, in which her response was the same, we're open. I asked one more time, are you still serving lunch? Finally, yes. Upon being seated, in the empty restaurant except for one other couple, our server greeted us. By this time it's about 20-min to happy hour (as we were informed). My husband ordered two Belvedere martinis but asked the server beforehand what the difference was in price. Unbelievably, she yells out to the bartender across the restaurant questioning the price difference in top shelf vodka. Unbelievably, she Yells! And, the bartender YELLED back the price difference. It was a good thing the restaurant was empty as it was embarrassing. My husband asked must we wait 20-min to get the Happy Hour price, a legitimate question, right? Astoundingly, the Server quipped: "That's up to you". Seriously? How rude. She had a take it or leave it attitude instead of saying, let me check to see what I can do, which is good marketing. So our option was wait 20-min, in an empty restaurant to get the discount or order the full price. He elected to not wait and ordered the full price. During this time we noticed a woman come in and sat at the bar. She asked the time and they told her she had to wait 15-min before she could get the Happy Hour price. The woman sat alone and waited the ridiculous 15-min. Great customer service. How to ensure patrons would want to return, NOT!!! Now, lunch: Ordered 2 dozen oysters on the half shell, served on a dinner plate, not an inviting presentation. This was after waiting over 30-min, questioning what was taking so long. We asked if a roll came with the oysters. Of course not, we had to order a bread basket consisting of a few slices and olive oil, but this was brought after the very loud server asked if it was okay to bring it since it was only for dinner. Is there no class in Naples? Or is that only between certain hours? I can tell you our lunch was well over $200 yet we walked away feeling a fast-food restaurant would have better customer service than Aqua. Guess we can't blame the help since they were either hired as-is or without any training by the owners. Aqua is not a fast-food establishment but for sure, it's certainly NOT a fine-dining establishment!!! One thing is for sure, we'll never return nor will we go to the other Aqua establishments. read more

Two stars for service only. In the words of my children, the food was mid. In my words, it was terrible. The steak was tasteless as were the mashed potatoes. I asked if they had bernaise sauce. They said they had demi glace but it was actually just beef gravy. The calamari was unfortunately bitter. Might have been better if it was Tasteless. In the end, we dropped $450 on four mediocre meals and one kids meal which was equal to adult price at any other restaurant. Oh, by the way, they add 20% gratuity on tables of five or more (wrong-should be at least 6) and 4% on credit card if not paying in cash. Sorry but will never return and would suggest you don't either. There are plenty of other decent choices in downtown Naples. As one reviewer pointed out, dining room was empty and the bar was full. Aqua has great food and great service. They also have a killer happy hour menu from 4pm-7pm every day. The interior could use a little updating but other than that, it's a fantastic restaurant that doesn't disappoint. The seafood is always fresh (never frozen). I don't do this often but I feel obligated to put up a review. I am from New York but it's false advertisement!! This place seems cute but it is the opposite. The female owner is pretentious !!!! The ceviche is not worth the $22 let alone the service is just basic. The meals are just hitting par level. Most importantly, for me it's not even about the price, but the overall experience with the staff members and it was quite literally so cold. CON ARTIST!! Went to Aqua their first day (soft) open for lunch. Reasonable prices for food quality in a lovely restaurant. Food was delicious; the three of us all tried different entrees and enjoyed them. Service was good, we asked and received thoughtful suggestions. Complimented the hostess (who checked on us twice) on our server who then confided after that it was her brother. We also split a dessert which we highly recommend as not only delicious but huge. Thrilled to have "Randy's Key Lime Pie" and to know that Randy's commercial bakery was still making the best Key Lime pies around! Amazing conversion of a Perkins Panache House as very nice place with patios now. Only negative: the night time piano player was there testing the sound equipment. Had happy hour here on a Friday night at the bar week after hurricane around 6pm. It is one of the few places that offer happy hour past 5 or 6 pm. Drinks and bar menu were great and had a pretty good selection. We thought there would be live entertainment but there wasn't any that night. Staff was friendly and attentive. There is another bar in the lounge area but I believe that gets busier later in the evening. Overall we would recommend this place and probably return. read more

Had a very bad experience with a bartender last night. She Had an incredible bad attitude when I didn't want to keep my bar tab open. She had a hard time with the fact I closed my tab and then later wanted to open a new tab. I expressed my displeasure wi th her bad attitude towards me and she turned into a raving bartender that was incensed. I mentioned this experience with the manager that also told me she was the owner. I think they went to the same school of hospitality. Fun venue but the worst experience I have ever had with a bartender. This is my first ever negative review on Yelp. Won't be going back to This establishment until this negative employee moves on! read more
