We stumbled across Seventh South looking for fresh local seafood and ended up finding one of our favorite meals of the trip. From the moment we walked in, the hostesses and manager made us feel welcome and had us seated right away. Our server, Angel, was fantastic. He walked us through the menu, explained how many of the dishes were prepared, and made thoughtful recommendations without ever feeling pushy. We started with the octopus and fresh focaccia with honey. The octopus was exceptional--easily one of the best I've had and on par with dishes I've enjoyed at Michelin-starred and James Beard-recognized restaurants. We also shared the beet and goat cheese salad, followed by the local snapper and the ribeye cap topped with lobster claw and tail in chimichurri. Every dish was beautifully prepared and showcased the quality of the ingredients. The cocktails were well balanced (not overloaded with ice), and the Thyme on Thyme is an easy recommendation if you're looking for something light and refreshing. The wine list paired nicely with the meal as well. Watching the sunset over the water while listening to music drifting across the park made the evening even more memorable. We ate here Wednesday night and it is by far the best meal we have had. We sat outside on the patio with a great view of the water and we could hear the music at Celebration Park. Our server Mike, did an excellent job taking care of us. We started off with a couple cocktails. I had an Old Fashioned and my wife had the Not Bogged Down. For dinner I had the Chorizo Encrusted Red Snapper and my wife had one of the specials which was the Tripletail. She said it was the best seafood dish she has ever had. For dessert, we split the special Crème Brûlée topped with diced fruit. We enjoyed the dessert so much, we purchased one for a sweet family of four sitting next to us. Service was excellent. Ambiance was perfect. And the cocktails were expert level. I wish I lived in Naples so I could visit here once a week until I have tried all their cocktails. Craft cocktails with homemade syrups, tinctures, house infused spirits, house blend vermouth, house blend bitters. Whoever runs their drinks program is paying attention & serving up delicious & unique drinks. It's becoming more rare to visit a restaurant that feels like someone's singular vision for a neighborhood or community (instead of a corporate venture). The only reason that I'm not giving this place 5 stars is because we went at 9pm and for the "late night" menu so I don't feel like I got the full experience. But the cocktails were clearly thoughtful and amazing with close attention paid to crafting them with purpose. And the service was really friendly and fun! Gorgeous location by the water. Recently converted from a market to a full-service restaurant, and it's got an upscale, sleek vibe. We came for a drink one night, and I got the All Bark, No Bite, which was boozier-tasting than I had hoped. I prefer drinks with more layered flavors but if you love vodka, then this is the drink for you. The next day we came for lunch, and the highlight by far was the Smoked Fish Dip. I also got the salmon poke bowl, which was fresh and tasty, and the other guests got the red snapper, which was solid, and the Moroccan chicken, which my friend didn't really enjoy. This restaurant is still relatively new, and may need some time to figure out their menu. I'd definitely come back to try some of their other dishes. read more

Picked this spot by chance and what a pick. We got there early 4:45 and the restaurant surprisingly was filled up by 5:30. It's no wonder why, the service, ambiance and food is benchmark. Funny enough we probably picked one of the worst days to try this place out. The weather was cold and rainy and this is a quaint, waterfront gem directly across from celebration park. Lucky for us they have indoor seating and a bar as well as outdoor seating on the water. We came for lunch and decided to try the fish dip and the grouper tacos (which was one of the specials). The tacos came with a side of sushi rice which I chose to substitute for fries. We also had a chocolate torte for dessert. The staff were friendly and efficient. When my tacos came out they forgot the fries but told me to just keep the rice and they would bring the fries out. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The fish dip was topped with some sort of pickle relish mix which was so good and the crackers they serve with it are light and crispy. The sushi rice was surprisingly full of spices and flavor. The tacos were perfect. Not too fishy tasting like often happens with fish tacos. The fries came out quickly and were hot and delicious. We enjoyed the chocolate torte which had some dulce de leche drizzle and a couple of strawberry slices. I will say that like so many restaurants, I find the dessert overpriced for the portion size even if it is absolutely delicious! We will be back on a beautiful day to sit outside, enjoy the view, try some alternate items on the menu and enjoy the sangria which I did not order today. read more

I have been to Seven South in Naples several times, and unfortunately every visit has involved an issue with the hostess, Janice. Tonight was the final straw. When making my reservation, I initially requested outdoor seating, however several days later I sent a message on open table requesting we be seated indoors, i received a message back from the restaurant saying the seating was changed to indoors. Janice claimed that request was never made and there were no other tables available, even though she was able to locate my other requests, including changing the reservation to 6 guests and securing the reservation with my credit card. Instead of simply apologizing or trying to accommodate us, she was rude, dismissive, and adamant that I never requested indoor seating. Honestly, why would I make that up? And then after we were seated she came to our outdoor table and insisted on prolonging this uncomfortable situation, and then offered us an indoor table. It's disappointing because the food is great and the service staff are always wonderful, but the experience at the front door consistently ruins the evening. Sadly, this will be my last time dining here. read more

Sincerely, this has become my second favorite restaurant with Sails being my #1 but following a closely behind regarding food quality They could do better with the ambiance, maybe white or black plates not colorful ones as it takes away from the food presentation and possibly cleaning the tables when they get dirty, but apart from that, the chef really knows what he's doing! Food quality is superb! I didn't give it a full 5 stars do to ambiance but I heard they are moving locations so maybe that's the next step read more

Came to Naples to check things out but also to hit the best food and drink places. Checked out Yelp and bang Seventh and South was top of the list...went there and...it is for a reason. Killer There are a ton of restaurants in the 5th-7th street area - many of which are touristy. Seventh South stands above those as being off the main 5th street drag, but critically for the food, drinks, service and atmosphere. It was EXACTLY what we were looking for. Super unique food, killer mixology, a great atmosphere and just over the top service from Chris, Derek, Janice and of course Barry I know this will sound like a "gomer" like pre-baked review, but IT IS NOT. We have no relationship with the restaurant- strictly consumers just highlighting amazing food and service. While the drinks were killer (see below), the food was just awesome. We had the Lobster Bisque and Tuna appetizers. We jumped on them and forgot photos! Then we had the Octopus appetizer and Swordfish entree and it was just perfect. Had those and wanted to find a place to watch the NHL Playoffs and were expecting to go to some sports bar or something and saw hockey on the TV bar at Seventh South - chatted with Chris and he said "Oh yea, we stay open until 1am (which was perfect for our Western NHL game) and we love Hockey (Derek the bartender played high end hockey)." So we finished the dinner, walked around Naples, and showed back up at Seventh just as the Avs game started and Chris, Derek and Barry just set us up!! Avs on the TV, killer drinks and great people watched the game with us for a couple hours. WE WILL BE HERE EVERY TRIP WE MAKE IT TO NAPLES. You should too. This place is a great secret hidden off the popular 5th Ave restaurant scene. Drive a block over and try this. I started at the bar with the drink special of the day. It was a whisky based drink with vermouth and orange. I can't remember the name but it was great. Also had the meatballs which were some of the best I have had. The garlic was definitely there. I had the Roman carbonara. Homemade pasta with big chunks of pancetta was great. I got food envy when I tried the Moroccan chicken. The flavors coming out of that were out of this world. First impressions, not great. The place looks run down. I'm all for fine dining, but the prices for these plates didn't even come close to my expectations of a great meal. My Sea Bass was saturated in some salty soy glaze and topped on some sticky rice cake. My husband got a 6oz Ribeye that came with some fried wedge that looked like possibly a potato, but it didnt taste like a potato. The caesar salad was all wilted lettuce. When we first sat down outside there was bird poop on the table that I had to clean up, (gross). First out came a water boy, then the waitress, and then somewhere from out by the back door came this guy with a long ponytail drop off our meals to us. The food was not good at all and it was my husband's Birthday too so I was really disappointed. We just got our entrees and no cocktails and no dessert and our bill was $185! Outrageous for a place that is not even close to a 4/5 star restaurant. I was nice giving it 3 stars.. I don't know how this place is highly rated . We will not be back again. read more
