This is another one of those places with the exception of 1 or 2 ladies at the front, who have no customer service skills, no warm and fuzzies here, but eh, it is just to check in and move on. They have on site daycare (Not sure if it is open yet, Covid) and for a reasonable cost and no contracts. Instructors had their hands on my children so much during the lessons -picking up a child under…read morearmpits to move them from one foot to the other in the water when they could already swim, helping with form more than necessary, and just generally touchy enough that my young children felt uncomfortable in the water. I did address this with staff and when instructors would switch, it would happen again even more so than before. Very young children need this guiding but older elementary school kids self conscious of their bodies don't want hands on them the whole lesson-especially by a young male. I also felt they really didn't progress to the level they needed in a timely manner. I found the staff extremely defensive of feedback from parents. I don't care that you believe in your program. If a child is uncomfortable that speaks volumes.

Nothing about the layout made sense including the pool length. I mention the length because they advertise a summer swim program but the pool isn't competitive length giving our kids a leg down when swimming against all other pools. Parking is abysmal leaving nearby yards as the overflow. I will be taking my money elsewhere.

This is back in Providence Plantation neighborhood. It's an older neighborhood up High Ridge Road…read moreoff of Providence Road. Very beautiful, wind-y residential drive. Go slowly as there are no sidewalks and plenty of people out walking as well as the random deer or squirrel possible around the bends. The Racquet and Swim Club are tucked into a wooded area with 6 hard courts. The sun was a killer to one side of Court 5-6 when I played there, but what are you going to do? (Bring your shades and visor!) It's very quiet and makes for an enjoyable round of tennis. The clubhouse has a large rec room area and the bathrooms are easily accessible. I'm sure that the dues here are enough that they could update the clubhouse a bit, but it's functional. There is a small playground area in the woods and a shelter at the side of the main area of tennis courts. The pool was already closed, but is a fair size for the neighborhood. The members that we met were super nice (Thank you Elaine & Julie) and I hope I get to play here again.

As you read this...Keep the fact that this facility is the most expensive gym membership…read moreanywhere...and especially Charlotte. Also this is meant to provide constructive feedback in hopes that management/area director and leadership at Lifetime read this- finally these are constant grievances of mine, others on this feed and I have been a member for more than 3 years. Additionally, I've experienced the brand new top shelf Lifetime in Cary NC...world of difference in service, equipment (of course new) , AND true spa like feel in the men's locker room...down to lockers have 'bumpers' on them so when they are shut they are quiet. 1. NOISE! Men's spa area is so loud I have to wear airbuds to escape the constant yammering of others in the steam and sauna. 2. Tired Equipment and in consistent amenities- I joined for the quality of equipment and mainly access to steam and dry sauna- Equipment is worn out...bikes, cable machines, benches, accessories for gym equipment in general need replacement. Machines sit dormant waiting for repair often...and Steam room is constantly inconsistent and temperatures in dry sauna are below recommended temps. Did I also mention how LOUD it is in the 'Quiet Area.' 3. Towel service is 1 STAR....and unacceptable. Last night and many days/nights the shelves in the locker area are bare with NO TOWELS....I literally had to walk the locker room to find a clean towel to dry off with. 4. Family Friendly. YES! It should be...but now that school/college is on summer break the gym experience is fraught with kids being kids.. from locker room to gym floors...absolute chaos... 5. Showers- The entire shower area is a mess a lot of the time, but especially last night....walk into a shower and someone left towels inside stall....No attendants cleaning up or restocking towels...counters full of water, etc. NOT A PREMIUM EXPERIENCE! I truly enjoy investing in my health and consider Lifetime a splurge in my budget....BUT I continually leave shaking my head at the level of service...quality...and inconsistency....even the 'simple things' from a staff person, like Have a good night...hope you had a nice workout. It would be nice to have persons on the floor assisting 'newbies' with workout tips or offering assistance in using the equipment.

John, it's a struggle to get to your classes, but - I always leave your classes feeling so much better. Thank You! I'm glad we have you at the Charlotte JCC - You are such a gem! - Overall, folks at the JCC are very friendly; It's a good / family oriented crowd; We feel welcomed and extremely comfortable there - We really enjoy the JCC during the Summer Months; - Snack Bar is really great, wish they would keep it open all year round. Membership Fees are completely reasonable and a great way to support the Charlotte Jewish Community. Work out staff are incredible non-judgmental, friendly and helpful. It appears Administration does not allow any "Ding Dongs" to work there. Everyone working there is helpful and pleasant. Security Supervisor Mr. Randy Brown is a Mensch; - Security is on point and is very visible. They are constantly patrolling the entire grounds, which really makes us feel safe. Andrea and I are really pleased with how the Charlotte JCC is run. We would like to attend more events, however - time is a commodity.
