We found Greg Herman and Aqua26 Pools thru Yelp and we are SO grateful. We own a rental in the West Valley and strive to provide a quality experience for our tenants. The previous pool man (a one man operation) failed to service the pool for 3 or 4 weeks due to claimed illness. He made no provision to let us know and provided no substitute service. By the time the tenant realized the pool wasn't being serviced, we had a mess on our hands. We called Aqua 26 and spoke with Greg. What a refreshing experience! It was obvious that he cared about providing quality service. We learned that he had several crews and assured us that he was able to provide continuous service. Greg went by the property and reported back immediately what was needed to restore the pool. We hired him on the spot and couldn't be happier. He and Max brought to pool back to health in an amazingly short time. The tenant says the pool has never looked so consistently good. Greg keeps us posted if anything out-of-the-ordinary needs attention and we appreciate the open line of communication. December 30th My neighbor trashed my pool while having 3 gigantic palm trees cut. HE did not have the decency to notify me that he was doing so, thus resulting in a massive pool clean up. I have fired over 20 pool service companies since I have owned my home and have learned to do a better job than them. It saved me a lot of money in the end and the backyard became more of my happy place because I am a territorial beast when it comes to order. I had the flu when the debris smothered my pool and had no energy to deal with this clean up. I broke down and did an emergency search for a competent pool company. Greg is the owner of Aqua26 Pool and Spa. He services all of his pools. I phoned, he came out immediately. We determined that the filter would need to be cleaned before and after. In addition we needed to get the chemistry back on point. All was accomplished. I did tell him that I only wanted him to clean my pool and if he ever added other workers that would not work for me. He agreed to always be the one to care for my pool. Greg pays attention to detail and is willing learn. I am a researcher by nature and have been told that I know a lot more about my pool than most homeowners. Greg shows up when he says he will and my pool is crystal clear. I am impressed. Bottom line. Thus far Greg has only serviced my pool for 1 1/2 months. I am hopeful that this will remain for the duration of service. He takes responsibility if there are errors and convenient billing. As much as I Iove cleaning my own pool and saving $$$, I must admit it has freed up my time a bit. We are seniors. Greg is conscious by not being greedy with his fees. Aqua 26 has been our pool servicing company for a few years now. We don't have that big of a pool and the deepest it goes is 5 feet. But, it still gets very dirty. We heard about Aqua 26 through a family member, we decided to give them a try and because we liked their services we remained with them. A picture is worth a thousand words. Just see what Aqua26 did to our newly installed pebble pool in just 4 weeks. The pool is covered with algae under Aqua26 services. Hired Greg to maintain our pool for weekly service , at the time he promised his technician will balance the pool chemistry, scrub, and vacuum the pool weekly. But the technician either didn't try, or failed miserably to balance the water pH and maintain properly chlorine levels, and was even reluctant to vacuum the pool when I specifically told him there is a bunch of dust/sand/pebbles at the bottom of pool. Just to confirm whether they were properly maintaining the water pH, I took the water sample to Leslie for testing, and the results showed the water pH is too high (7.8-8.0), and the chlorine levels are close to 0, both perfect conditions for algae growth. I notified Greg a couple times throughout the course, he said his technician will take care of it, but the algae just kept growing. He tried to blame it on chlorine shortage, but there are alternatives like power chlorine, chlorine tabs, shocks, etc. And the funny thing is, the next day after I fired him, I walked into local pool supply store and was able to buy 8 bottles of gallon chlorine myself! It was certainly a lack of care and professionalism on Aqua26. read more

My pool sweep vacuum hose had disconnected from my vacuum line and the pool pump tried to prime and ran all day without water so needless to say it overheated and was making a screeching sound like the bearings had gone bad. I was at Discount Pool Mart asking questions about my pump and the owner pointed Greg out to me who was also in the store getting supplies. I told Greg the situation he said he would come by and look at it. In the meantime I had to go out of town on a family emergency. He took the pump and diagnosed a bad seal and fixed and reinstalled the pump all while I was out of town. I want to thank him for his integrity and excellent work. The price was reasonable also. I had been using this service for almost 2 years when I get an email from Greg stating that he has a lot of customers that are not paying on time so ALL his customers will have to either subscribe to auto pay or pay a month in advance. I don't have to explain the challenges of Auto pay for a service that charges you periodically for extras. By paying in advance we're essentially financing his business for him. I emailed him my concerns and he responded by saying it was purely logistical and he was sorry that it seems like his good paying customers were paying the price for his non paying customers but he couldn't make exceptions even though I was never late. I agreed to pay in advance but felt very uncomfortable about it as I don't want to be financing his business for him. A month later I get charged an extra $30 for chemicals due to the supposed chlorine shortage. The next month I get charged again another $30 extra. I then contacted a dozen other pools services that told me the shortage was over and they're not charging for extra chemicals. I have to say I wasn't surprised. I canceled my service. What a shame.
