They reported to the warranty company that the issue was caused by an "ongoing leak" -- but offered no explanation, no evidence, and no visual confirmation of this supposed leak. When I called to ask for clarification -- where is the leak, and shouldn't we address that first if it's causing the motor issue? -- I was met with incredibly rude and dismissive behavior. The woman who answered the phone refused to let me speak with the technician (Frankie) who made the claim and told me the only way forward was to pay out of pocket for a separate service call. I was willing to do that -- I just wanted to understand what exactly they found. She flat-out refused, said the technicians don't speak with homeowners, and hung up on me. This experience was not only frustrating -- it was completely unethical. To make a claim that could impact a homeowner's warranty coverage, and then refuse to explain that claim or allow any communication with the technician, is unacceptable. Our hot tub is also professionally serviced three times a week by our pool company, who checks for everything -- including leaks. There has been zero evidence of any leak. We are responsible homeowners who address every issue promptly. I was even happy to pay for a repair out of pocket -- with a proper explanation. But this company's refusal to provide transparency or accountability speaks volumes. If you're dealing with a home warranty issue, I strongly recommend requesting a different service provider. I called ClaroPool on Tuesday afternoon and after a very helpful telephone conversation with Chris Little (Maintenance Director) who offered to schedule a site visit the next day. Chris arrived exactly on time the next day and was able to quickly resolve our issue with the iAquaLink app. He also managed to change app settings to solve a challenge that previous pool technicians told us was not possible. In a time when "customer service" does not seem as good as in past years, I was greatly impressed with Chris and the ClaroPool company. I tried to address this with Gustavo, and he just said--turn up your pump--which I did, but it did not help. I tried to call Jose, but he didn't return my call. The last time Gustavo came, I tried to bring up the algae again, but he got an attitude, said I quit and walked off the job leaving the gate wide open and leaving me with a green pool on 4th of July weekend, with the grandkids coming. Not very professional. I finally talked with Jose after that incident, and he told me that they had stopped shocking the pools during COVID because of the prices, and he suspected that was the reason for the algae. He did recently increased his prices--which was not an issue for us--it's about quality--but it still doesn't include shocking. Gustavo never informed me that they were not shocking the pool and didn't even offer it as a cost add on. Be sure to get references when you select your pool service, that way you can avoid unnecessary frustration. Highly disappointed in Jose's Pool Service.
