My love and I each chose a Revolution draft beer, and were a bit taken back that the total tab was a shade over $20 for our two beers. Frankly with the lack of ambience at this neighborhood dive bar attempting to be a sports bar or a hip downtown-ish establishment, it was a bit uncomfortable sitting at the bar. Needless to say, we did not stick around to experience the Saturday "DJ Night" as touted on its website.

I'm so glad I found it because it did not disappoint. We ordered a duck grinder with sweet potato tots subbed for fries, along with a cheeseburger from the kids menu. The quality and flavor of everything was excellent, as was the value. The duck grinder and very generous side of tots was enough for two meals (for me, at least). But even if it wasn't, I wouldn't care because it was so unique and delicious. The richness of the tender, well-seasoned duck was complemented beautifully by the chimichurri, and the roll was just the right size and thickness to hold everything together while letting the filling take center stage. The burger was also great - and at a quarter pound vs the half pound burgers on the regular menu, it's a nice choice if you don't want something huge. Whatever is happening in the Avondale Tap kitchen, they've got a great thing going. I'd order again (or check them out in person) in a heartbeat!

Every single part of the meal was outstanding. The pulled pork was delicious on its own, but I also loved the sweet barbecue sauce. The cornbread was, without exaggeration, the best I've ever had!! Even the sweet tea was perfect: actually sweet without being overpowering or having that bitter, earthy aftertaste that some sweet teas have. I couldn't stop thinking about it, so I came back the next night and tried the brisket. It was sooooo good too. It was tender, smoky, juicy, and packed with flavor. At that point I knew the first meal wasn't a fluke. It's not inexpensive, but the portions are generous, and I felt the quality more than justified the price. I was there by myself because I'm traveling for work and actually enjoyed the communal tables. They made the atmosphere feel welcoming and a little less lonely than sitting by myself. The staff was excellent, too. The gentleman with the glasses at the meat counter was friendly, funny, and made the experience even more enjoyable. He even threw in a complimentary rib, which was such a nice surprise and a great example of the hospitality here. One thing to know before you go: the line can get long, but don't let that scare you away, it moves efficiently, and the food is absolutely worth the wait. Green Street Smoked Meats lived up to every bit of the hype. They were there in a few minutes, but I was disappointed with the size; they were what I would call "baby tacos," not regular-sized. It's as if you took a regular taco and cut it in half; not only that, but they were just average, nothing special. The Chicken Tinga was better than the Al Pastor, which had no flavor. I would suggest not going there on the weekends for two reasons: my Margarita was $14. Compared to $8.00 during the week, it's not as busy then. They should have had at least one more server, because our waitress pretty much focused on the birthday party. The only time we saw her again was when I asked for the check. The ambiance is traditional Mexican wall art, etc. The bathrooms could use a good cleaning. The second helper lady was nicer than the waitress. I won't be going back; it's not my kind of place, and it's just too disorganized for me.

We finished early 21:17hrs, we got the bill (Total 216.50 euros) and I asked to pay and they tell us that we do not have to pay anything since they already charged my card 400 euros. I told them my secretary made a deposit for the reservation but nobody said anything about a minimum spend of 400 euros for 2 people. I told it must be a mistake. Somebody else came and said the same thing that we had to pay and it was their policy in July and August. I would understand if we would have had a salad and water for 50 euros, but we spent 216.50 euros so it was not cheap. They insisted they could not do anything, which is ofc bullshit. ' They should also tell all their clients when they come that it is a minimum 200euro spend, which ofc they do not want to do because that feels really shitty to open a hospitality experience with that.... If they had been smart they would have at least given us a voucher for another time or similar since i come there all year around since the opened. And we the regulars are the once make them survive in the winter etc... Really bad experience and you know what they say a bad customer will tell 10 people about their experience so here you go.... A shame to see restaurants in marbella starting to abuse pricing this way.... We all know that labour cost, groceries and rents not are at London pricing so why then try to Fxxx over your clients.
