The staff is great , If you're looking for more serious swim lessons for a toddler I wouldn't recommend. I gave the lessons a try for a few months and my toddler didn't learn anything. I inquired about swim lessons for my young children back in May. The staff were very helpful and informative on the phone. They stated that they do not allow parents around the pool during their child's swim lessons until the very last lesson, but let me know there is a viewing area where I would be able to watch. I went down in person and again had a great experience with their staff, but was very disappointed to find that the "viewing area" was actually located outside and you could only see your child through a window which was tinted. So unless you stuck your face directly up against the glass you weren't able to see anything. I was very uncomfortable with this and decided this was not the place for us. I'm sure they have very well trained staff, but we all know accidents happen. For this reason I chose to take my business elsewhere. read more

Well, this place just gets worse every time I show up there. Took my tanks (which I bought from them ) in to get filled and I have a free air Fill card, which they would not accept even though it was issued from them. They are condescending and disrespectful trying to make an excuse as to why they will not honor their own fill card. I will never do business here ever again. Prices are high, they don't acknowledge their own fill cards, The place is just a disaster and getting worse. Another business owner not listening to customers and listening to lies by the incompetent staff. This company doesn't have my cell phone number, but do have my last name. She found that, no problem. Not sure what story they told the owner, but it was not truthful. $35.00 for a tank visual inspection is the highest in the Bay Area. We'll go to Pleasanton for $25 with a free air fill. Today I am taking my children to their fourth swimming class with aquatic dreams. When we first started lessons my kids had 0 swimming skills. They couldn't even float. With every class we enroll in, I see huge improvements. My son is such a great swimmer and loves showing off his ability to dive underwater and swim in the deep end. Aquatic dreams taught him how to swim and they have helped with his confidence in the water and helped me feel at ease about water safety. I've come here three years now with my kids. All private lessons cause it worked better schedule wise. Problem 1: It also states on their website private lessons allow parents, so while it sit in a corner and have paid more to be here and have 1-1 time with my kids, it apparently upsets the other parents in group lessons. Not my problem. Change your stuff. Problem 2: you only apparently allow private lessons now to kids on weekends?! Plus private parties use to interrupt our classes. My own coach isn't available. We choose a weekday so that hopefully we wouldn't be there for scuba class. Those start at 6 pm. and apparently now I can't go before due to group class. You have to many things and need to scale it or figure it out. Problem 3: I'm going to assume the owners, the people at the front desk. Two years in a row I purchased lessons and wasn't contacted for a month after. I've been stopped very rudely as if I didn't know what I was doing and spoken to like a child. I had to text my coach to get us knowing she was waiting for us. This is the last time I buy through this company. I was nervous doing it this time and you proved me that we're not worth your time or money. Your coach is great I like this one but your ownership is faulty and rude and doesn't seem to care about the customer that is actually paying more for a better experience. read more

Horrible place for a 4 year old to get swimming lessons. The two instructors were negligent and failed to see my grandson go under water and not come back up. It was traumatic for him and for me and his mother who were watching this horrific event take place before our eyes. We pounded on a LOCKED glass door to get the attention of the two negligent instructors. We couldn't go in to save him because of the locked door. He was under for quite awhile and is now traumatized. He won't go near water. NOT A SAFE PLACE FOR CHILDREN. read more

We've been taking my son here and the place is okay. They don't allow parents inside to watch their kids so parents have to stay outside and peek through the dirty windows. I wish they would allow parents to sit inside on the sides. As far as the instructors, the young girls are much better than their male counterpart. He's just there and doesn't engage the little girls. He's just playing with the boys that like to horse around. As far as their swimming lessons, they're a little too laid back and don't push the kids. read more

Bonnie is amazing and always helpful, Stacy is a awesome swimming teacher and Steve is an unbelievable scuba instructor! My kids have grown up in their pool. Now it's my turn. Since October 2021 they have gotten me from elearning classes for open water to the pool for my practical exercises for open water to my referral for finishing my open water cert. to getting me outfitted with gear for diving and photography to my enriched air cert. I can now say that I have a passion for diving. Update. I am very happy with the new instructor that they gave to my daughter. Elliot is super patient and great for little kids. My daughter was kinda sick the first time and just cried for the whole lesson, but he was so attentive, he talked to her, and focused on her. I really appreciate that. We just had our second lesson and it went wonderfully. Hopefully she learns to swim or at least learn to float if she for some reason ever falls into a pool. read more

I have trying online as well as calling around to numerous dive shops looking for a plastic Caribbean fish id card for a trip to Aruba. Shouldn't be too hard you would think. No luck, either places were closed, didn't call back, problems with their websites etc. I called Aquatic Dreams and Steve answered the phone, extremely helpful as he had to go through fish id cards for all over the world (talk about in stock) and found one for Aruba. I almost never write a review. To date, I think I've written one. That being said, Aquatic Dreams and their staff were incredible during my PADI open water certification course. My instructor Todd, was amazing and his co-instructors Mike (during the pool) and Leslie (in open water) were great as well. Going through the certification I was a little nervous but Todd and his team were phenomenal. Honestly, I'm not sure if I could have gotten through everything without them. Oh my gosh, I haven't been back to this store in many, many years. I was certified OWD the RD with this shop. My instructor back then was Mark Lizon. What a terrific guy. Wonder whatever happened to him. I have since moved back to my home state of New York and wish these folks were here to help me enjoy the wonderful Lake Ontario. Lots to explore out here with the great lakes. My classes and time there were absolutely fabulous. We even played underwater Monopoly out front of their store. My first encounter with Aquatic Dreams was when I was looking to buy a dry suit from them last December, since then I find myself visiting the shop at least 2x a month to either learn something new, purchase a new item, or just to hang out and enjoy time with my fellow divers and their staff that I'm proud to call friends. The store has an amazing amount of things to look at, check out, and the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. After a couple of days trying to figure out where to have my sons birthday party, I came across this little gem in Modesto. I wanted something different, & a pool party in January sounded pretty cool! They were very nice over the phone, reserved my party& went over all the details with me. I paid $ 140 for 2 hrs + the party room. I was allowed 15 kids, unlimited adults & the pool all to ourselves. The pool is huge & heated, they also provide a lifeguard. I'm surprised this place doesn't have more reviews for their swim lesson. My 4 yr old has almost been coming for a whole year now. The swim lessons are $60 for two days a week for the whole month. They have flexible hours which I believe start in the earlier afternoon till around 7. My son absolutely loves it here. They have a heated indoor pool and a bathroom with shower which you can use. A nice size waiting area for parents. The instructors are very nice and friendly especially the lady in the front who registers you for the lessons. So far my son and I have no complaints and he has gotten a lot more confident in the pool read more

Let me start by saying, I absolutely love the ocean but it also terrifies me what lurks beneath so going on my first La Jolla Shores Snorkeling adventure, I wanted someone who would educate me on what I needed and how to use it. The only ocean I have ever swam in was Cabo San Lucas and also very warm so a wetsuit wasn't needed. The waters of So Cal are very cold and I wasn't about to brave it! Bonnie was so knowledgeable over the phone and had such a warm personality I ended up going into the store the same day with my mom. Bonnie was so educational, helpful and friendly. It is very hard to find great customer service now a days and Bonnie Exceeded my expectations! There was another girl there who was really friendly but Bonnie helped us mostly. We live in Pleasanton, within 4 miles of a "full service dive shop" but, we DRIVE 1.5 hours each way to Modesto to shop at Aquatic Dreams - they're THAT much better. We've purchased all our gear from them. They're such an amazing, very knowledgeable and friendly staff. We've been on 3 international dive trips with the shop - Cozumel, Bonaire and Fiji. Every trip has been an amazing adventure. The shop takes care of every little detail for us, we just show up and have fun. We're looking forward to adventure #4, Cayman Brac in Dec. 2016. I started going to Aquatic Dreams Scuba Center before I took a trip to Maui to buy wet suits. My husband and had an amazing scuba experience Maui. After we returned I wanted to get certified also. We decided to go back to ADSC to sign up for my certification. They have wonderful selections of all types of exposure suits and scuba gear. All their merchandise is easy to find a look through, clean, and organized. All the staff is friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. I decided to do a private open water certification with Todd. I prefer more one on one training. Feeling socially awkward and group settings can be intimidating for me, and I didn't want any distractions. It's also nice to have flexibility in scheduling. Todd is friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. There isn't a question that he didn't have an answer too. He is serious and holds you accountable to your training, which is what you need in instructor. You can tell that he takes great pride in training his students so they can be the best divers and safety is at the upmost importance to him and this dive shop. My husband had gotten certified through another shop before our trip that cut corners and didn't follow the correct training and he is continuing his training with their shop. They are also very friendly with Kids. I am able to bring my son to the shop with me and they have a little area for the kids to sit at. Very cute. During my dives their pool is clean, bathrooms clean and well cared for. Todd has been on time and never late for our appointments. They also offer great deals if you want to invest in buying your own scuba gear. If you are a local person living in the central valley I highly recommend them. They offer so much more than Scuba Diving. I am happy my husband and I found them. The experience and level of customer service is amazing. I started SCUBA in 2000 and had great experiences. Then I had to stop diving for several years. This year my fiancée wanted to learn so we could dive together. She lives in Modesto and I live in Novato so we booked her course at Aquatic Dreams. Prior to the course I checked in my two sets of BCDs and regulators/dive computers/inflators so that the tech at Aquatic Dreams could check and refurbish everything. Turns out their tech's notion of checking and refurbishing means "install new batteries in the dive computers but ignore everything else." When we attached the first stages to air tanks, both secondary regulators had noisy leaks. This could have been very, very bad news if we'd been ocean diving and it's totally unacceptable. Huge black mark. Next black mark: the instructor ignored my fiancée, told her that she had "wrong" equipment, didn't offer to help in any way. He even told her the fins (universal fit, adjustable strap) were "the wrong size." In the end she had to walk away from the class. So we spent a considerable sum paying for equipment to be checked and refurbished, and it wasn't checked or refurbished. We spent more paying for the PADI Open Water Diver course and my fiancée had to walk away from it. And when I called to discuss the situation I was told, "the owners are away, no one here can discuss this with you." In short, if you want a good experience with SCUBA, I would recommend you go elsewhere. read more
