The guys in the back were great. Really helpful with the fishes and plants. The problem started with the cashier lady in the front. She was very very rude. I was with my daughter checking out with half a dozen guppies and a few plants. She didnt welcome us nor said thank you or when we were done paying. She didnt even look at us when she said you're all set im a rude tone.I was so shocked that I even said you're very rude to us. But still didn't even bother to look or said a word. Even my daughter said why she so mean and rude? Sorry but you lost a customer after comin here for over 20 years. I always get my plants from here no issues whatsoever. Have also gotten snails with no issues. However last week I made the mistake of buying ember tetras from them. I wanted to add them to my betta tank. The fish soon showed they had the ich parasite and got my poor betta sick as well. They died one by one until one was left with my betta. I tried to save him and gave him salt baths and ich treatment but he died this morning. I will never buy fish here again. Truly heartbroken. Selling sick fish is not okay. I should have isolated them first to make sure they were healthy but now I learned better through unfortunate circumstances. RIP Tecca read more

Most of the regular staff USED to be much more chill - attitude and customer service wise. My very first experience with this store several years ago wasn't great, I had a fish that didn't have a price on hold for me with help from the younger staff. The next day I came by to purchase it and was told by an old guy that he sold it, straight up no apologies no explanation with a piss poor attitude. Not sure if he was the owner or what but the younger staff members were the ones that apologized to me since he had some seniority over them. Thought it was just a him problem and left it at that. Now, it just seems like the whole staff have a miserable piss poor "aS a mAtTeR oF fAcT" and "iM bEtTeR tHaN tHoU" attitude aside from a couple (the ones that are nice are in lower seniority regular staff positions with no say in anything). In the several months I haven't visited what happened? It just seems like it's getting worse and worse, just like in other reviews there's a plethora of staff but barely anyone with a good attitude, it's always the woman at the register and a couple of one or two basic staff that are nice. My issue this time is I simply asked for cuttings from a display tank, same thing I used to ask back then with no problems, maybe that worker no longer works there, but: 1) It wasn't like I was asking for the everything in the tank 2) I asked last time and was told to come back when the plants grew back and guess what, the whole bush was grown in and full 3) There was no need for attitude when I asked about it, it's your job. You usually cut those and put them in the selling plant holder tanks anyway so what's the harm to cut more for a customer that WANTS to spend their money to support the business? I already have a shit ton of other things I'm buying so just why? The worker that helped me managed to get me a tiny bunch that was in the sellout tank but I wanted to purchase more so he had to ask his superior, I believe Derek was his name, for permission. I've interacted with him a few times before and he was knowledgeable and friendly, but today it seemed like he didn't even want to be there. He stated that he did not want to touch that tank, which has clearly not been trimmed like they kept claiming they "just did". A different worker chimed in, tall blond guy, told me last time when I entered that if the plants were grown and lush, which they were, to ask for cuttings which I was just to be told no to. I don't need to be snidely laughed and told that "tHeSe sElL qUiCk" when there's a bunch of you standing around at the prep table just talking. Do your job. Additional note: I stopped buying fish because 95% of the time they are diseases when you bring them home, huge shared sump system that spreads disease. Come here to look at plants and tools mainly. First time here, and we were blow away by the fish variety. They had so many cool saltwater fishes like eels and pufferfish! They sold some ADA tank equipment, but I didn't see the actual tanks on display. The staff were friendly, the fella that helped us was super informative and helped us pick out a uv light. I'm super sad I forgot his name. He gave us lots of tips about saltwater maintenance. We'll definitely be back if we ever make our aquarium a saltwater one. They had so many rarer fish, and I liked how clean the tanks were. The tanks also weren't crowded with fish. Some tanks only had 2-3 fish. read more

I'm transferring my adopted "water rats" (aka abandoned goldfish), that I found in the house I just moved into, from a murky, muddy nightmare to an above ground pond/water feature. Bought a 100 gal water trough but had no idea what to do to turn it into a new home for the gold zombies. Seriously, you should have seen the water they were living in. Raphael is the Pond Master. He took me right to the pump and filter I needed, handed me the chemicals and in less than 15-min I was on my way home. Within a few hours I turned a mud bath filled with gold water zombies into a patio water feature. The little girls were splashing and jumping around in the water!! Brought tears to me eyes to see them get the zoomies like that. The sounds of the water bubbling are delightful. Can't wait to complete the project with potted plants and lights. I was a little worried at first when we pulled up to the location because it's in an industrial park and for a moment I thought it was just maybe a supply store, but once we stepped inside and saw everything we knew that we had found a gem. Just so much to explore and so many helpful employees available for every question we had. I've never seen so much aquatic life and so much aquatic-focused material in one place. There is no need for anyone to go to Petsmart or Petco for fish or fish supplies, this is the place to go. All of the staff were so educated -- truly straight up experts. You could really tell how passionate everyone was about aquatic life, and their jobs and the place they worked. I've never seen a place so put together as this place. The set up was straight up legit . The amount of helpful information we got from them just by letting them know what our habitat was like at home was just so beyond impressive. Wow things have slowly become apparent to me since these past 4 years I have been shopping here... I can back up these claims about the manager/owner Pat. He's very standoffish and all the time I can hear him abusing his workers and customers while I'm shopping. Really just keep your head down around him. I had been going here for years and the atmosphere in there was always really disturbing around that guy. The younger employees are great and really helpful though! I feel sorry for them all... It also seems like proper covid distancing has not been well adapted in this cramped place. From how many times entire purchases of mine have died off in quarantine from contracting something in the over crowded tanks, I shouldn't be surprised the people in the store are treated no different... I'm not coming back. Community is really important to me in the fish keeping hobby, and there's just a lot of toxicity in there, literal and figurative. read more

I always come here for my saltwater aquarium needs. They are close by and they always have what I need. They have an excellent selection of saltwater fishes which spans across three rows. I purchased numerous fish here and they have always been healthy and are still thriving in my tank.
