A friend and I met up here for dinner last night. We made it in on the early side so it wasn't busy at the time, around 5:30. We started with each a sangria. She, a blood orange sangria and me, a cranberry sangria. Both delicious and a good size. The bread was okay and came with a dish of garlic oil. The server was friendly and attentive - I already forgot his name so I'm sorry! I ordered a special, Pork Napoleon which was delicious and I definitely made the right choice. She ordered butternut squash ravioli which she really liked as well. I felt the pink vodka sauce on my dish was a bit bland and the pasta tasted no different than a box of prince penne but the entree really was scrumptious. I'd definitely go back and order it again! Dessert was offered but I was just too full. She ordered a slice of strawberry rhubarb pie to go. The place is quaint and rustic. Bathrooms were really neat and spotless. We'll be back! read more

I went to Aquilante's this week with some friends and everything was delicious! I had the NY sirloin special with I ordered medium rare. It was cooked perfectly!! It paired nicely with creamy mashed potatoes and grilled zucchini. One of my friends had the fish and chips and the other had the chicken piccata. We all loved our meals!! I included a picture of the dessert tray but we were all too full to partake in dessert. We will be back!! read more

We had a party of seven. Our reservations were at 6PM The waiter FINALLY came at 7PM to ask if we wanted to order. One of us had eggplant parm (awful-how do you ruin eggplant?) two salads with salmon (the driest ever) were the lowlights of the night. The waiter was inattentive. 5/24/24 have not been here in 10 years. Unfortunately, still the worst food I have ever eaten. It's sad that I'm not exaggerating, my meal was lemon ricotta scallops. Terrible. We went there about 6:20p tonight (Saturday). It was busy but definitely not to the level I'm used to seeing at restaurants on Saturday nights (no one waiting/no line/open seats at the bar). We decided to order take out but enjoy a drink while we waited. Was at least 10 minutes before a bar tender came over. There were two people working the bar. The drinks were great. I wish I had a second but no one came back over to check on us. We didn't get our food until over 40 minutes later. Was excited to leave only to be massively disappointed with the food. I got the alfredo and honestly, it's inedible. It tastes like milk. Zero flavor. Zero seasoning. I tried to add some flavor to it and after two cheeses and multiple seasonings, I gave up and tossed it. My dad got the sausage and rabbes. He said it was good flavor. Also, the value of this place is poor. For $83, we got two drinks (one each) and two bowls of pasta. No salads, bread, or soups come with the entRees. Do yourself a favor. There are so many great Italian places in RI, pick any other one. read more

It was lunch with a friend at Aquilante's Bistro in West Warwick this week. They are always so good, and lunch was no exception. They had a summer sangria menu, which were very good and rather large! Sorry, I forgot the pics of those!! For an appetizer, we had Italian egg rolls - mozzarella and prosciutto, rolled in an egg roll wrap and fried, served with marinara. Delicious!! Sorry, again no pic. I had eggplant rollatini with pasta. Oh so delicious! My friend had lobster ravioli. She said they were delicious! I would have been disappointed, however, since there were only 3 ravioli in the order! I think the food here is amazing, but I did think that the lunch menu prices were high. This is the place I tend to go to for a special occasion. There was no room for dessert, but my friend did take home a piece of biscotti cheesecake; all desserts were made in house. I've had their desserts before, so I can bet that any choice would be fabulous! Service was on point, with 1 waiter and the bartender taking care of a few tables all at the same time. When someone calls in for a reservation, and it's for a busy night, just respond that there are no openings available. I don't need, as was done tonight, for the host to say "really on a Saturday night at 7". It was over a week in advance so it shouldn't have been an issue. At least have the common sense to put the call in hold. Food here is good, not great, and this is the second time for a service issue. Reservations for 6. Nobody came to greet us for almost 20 minutes. The calamari felt like I was chewing on a battered rubber band. Then our meals took almost 40 minutes and the chicken Marsala came out not even Hott. Almost cold ... My wife felt sick after the calamari. I picked this place for dinner because it was rather close to my hotel. First impression, lots of decor and somewhat clutter but felt more at home and each piece had meaning. I sat at the bar, nice spread and beautiful. The bartender was absolutely pleasant and attentive. I had the calamari appetizer then the clam sauce linguine. The linguine was a huge portion, and I've never had so many clams before! Also had fresh bread with oil. The atmosphere was inviting and the bar guests all I get interacted with each other. Was craving Italian food like homemade meatballs in rich sauce with gooey mozzarella cheese. I had seen this restaurant tucked back into a small plaza and had wanted to try them. I didn't want to read reviews until I tried them for myself. I ordered on the phone and the woman was pleasant and took my order. She said it would be ready in 15 minutes, it was penne with meatballs. She didn't give me a total price. I arrived to an almost empty restaurant. I was greeted and my food was ready. The bill was 22.00$, which seemed high. The food was hot. The pasta, it must've been a pound of it, was cooked perfectly. The 2 meatballs were large, but bland and dense. The sauce was good, but not nearly enough for the amount of pasta. No cheese on top, no bread given. For the price it was disappointing and I would not go back. read more

This quaint little Italian restaurant was a great surprise. It was homely decorated and the staff were friendly. However the service was a bit slow but I think it's the home, comfortable experience they aim to set. The taste of the food is mostly on point. The pork and eggplant special dish was delicious and the Chicken Parm was a good size portion. However the calamari was a total no go. It was chewy which made it hard to eat. My sister took a party of 4 here for my birthday and we were the first party there. . The decor and set up of the dining area was pleasant and the restaurant smelled great. Our waiter did a phenomenal job on explaining the specials in detail although when he first approached our table he was eating or chewing gum. Other than that he was charming and attentive throughout .The egg nog elf martini didn't disappoint and I really enjoyed it . I went yesterday with my wife and uncle. The restaurant was empty minus two loud inebriated ladies at the bar who they sat us down next two. The calamari appetizer was ok at best then came time for the meals. The linguine with clams tastes off and spicy. However the biggest issue is that the pork Napoleon special was raw. I brought it to the attention of the waiter Tony who I have no issue with but he tried to down play it brought it back and had them heat it for a few. I then cut down the stack and it got less and less cooked. The bottom layer was completely uncooked. Tony thankfully took it off the bill, rightfully so. My yoga group has been coming for lunch regularly for the past year. I have to say it's our favorite place, not only for the outstanding food, but the cheerful service as well. Our server Mary is a delight! Cheerful, accommodating and knows all our favs! And she hustles like a kid! We'd been dying to try Aquilante's after it moved from Cowesett Avenue into the Quaker Valley shopping center. First of all let me say that their signature appetizer, the fried Squash Blossoms, were amazing. I had heard the buzz, so we had to try. They were stuffed with a gooey cheese, and a lemon-caper-butter sauce. Just tasty!! For the dinner entree, I had one of the nightly specials, Pork Napolean!!! OMG, it was insane! Thin layers of pounded pork, eggplant, tomatoes and mozzarella, all stacked nicely with a branch of rosemary to hold it all together. It sat in a bed of creamy vodka sauce, which was out of this world. If it's a special when you go, order it! There were a few minor hiccups like a bread basket - some of which was nicely warmed - while other pieces were stone cold. The olive oil dipping sauce could use more seasoning, too. Service was good, and the place is very rustic and charming, with a really nice bar. I cannot wait to go back soon! read more

This was a nicely decorated restaurant and loved the Valentine's day decor! They have lots of cozy electric fireplaces to keep you warm! We didn't make reservations for a Friday night and got seated quickly. Our server was very professional. We got the Italian eggrolls which were delicious! They were similar to a mozzarella stick except wrapped in won ton wrappers with prosciutto. Also I ordered the Seafood Casserole which was delicious and buttery! I got a side of penne and the red sauce had a nice flavor. My husband got the pork Napoleon which was good but needed some salt. The pink sauce we felt was more on the bland side. ​Our son got butter pasta with Alfredo sauce which was good. For dessert, our server recommended the carrot cake so we tried that. The trouble started pretty early, when I arrived a few minutes ahead of a 7:00 reservation. I was approached by a very aggressive waiter and a wish washy hostess, both of whom ignored me immediately after I said I was waiting for a friend. When he arrived (less than 5 minutes later), we were ushered by 3 different people to a table steps away. The aggressive waiter turned out to be the one serving us, and I just knew we were in for it. He lunged across the table to show us the wine and sangria list and then left us for a few minutes to decide. When he came back, he took our drink order, and as we tried to order an appetizer, informed us that the kitchen preferred they put in all the food at once, but they wouldn't rush us, and would we like to hear the specials. Oooookay. He read off at least ten specials (I stopped listening after three). I ordered a dish called Marie Antoinette, which was pasta with sausage, eggplant, two meatballs and red peppers. My friend got the lemon ricotta scallops. The busboy brought bread in the meantime, which was an Italian loaf torn into pieces, one of which still had the finger marks in it. Disgusting. Needless to say, we put that aside. The appetizer of Italian egg rolls was decent, not great, but it was the best thing we tried. My meal came out hot, but mostly flavorless, and the pasta was overcooked. The meatballs were huge but mushy and likewise flavorless. The best thing on the plate was the eggplant with homemade mozzarella. I left mostly everything else behind. This place was a disappointment, especially considering the amount of money we paid for dinner. We won't be coming back. read more

I ordered the Butternut squash raviolis to be delivered. I've had this dish numerous time before and absolutely loved it. This time it was so disgusting I couldn't even eat it. It is supposed to come in a brown butter sage sauce, mine cane in basically a mound of coagulated butter. I called to tell the restaurant about this and the manager basically made me feel personally attacked for even saying anything. After reading some of the other reviews it seems like that's what the manager does best. Maybe they should stick to serving their dishes in-house instead of delivery because the food obviously did not hold up. Waste of money for a dish I couldn't even eat. read more

I never review but this was so bad I have no choice. Sat outside, it was pleasant at first. Service was good overall but at times a bit spotty. The food was horrible. As in HORRIBLE. It was our anniversary, 22 years married, so we thought we would try this nice little bistro we had seen before, after all it looks so nice and cute from the outside. Worst anniversary meal EVER. Eggplant fries? Mediocre at best. Bread for the table? Thick sliced about the size of my thumb. Four little pieces for a table of three. Dipping oil? Bland and tasteless. Could have brought better bread from the supermarket. Nonni's raviolis? Please, I had a nonni (Italian Grandmother) and she wouldn't have served this garbage to the dog. The chicken entree over pasta? Tasted like they cooked the whole thing in a can of chicken noodle soup. But then it got better....not really. At about sunset, all the the overhead lights for the entire shopping plaza came on. Suddenly, what had been a somewhat cozy and romantic little informal anniversary dinner became awash in bright overhead lights making it seem like a prison break was expected at any minute. So there we sat for over half the meal under spotlights so bright they gave me a headache. The chocolate tort cake and pistachio cake desserts were good, but the after dinner coffee and liquor drink was horrible. Tart, sour, left half of it in the glass. All total, this meal cost over $150. It would have been bad at half that price. Money wasted. But never again. We will never, ever go back to this sorry excuse for a bistro and tavern. read more
