We came on a whim because the place we were originally going was on vacation . We've tried coming here before, but it was always hard to park. Tonight , we got lucky! There are two doors, and we were unsure which was the actual entrance. After a few minutes, we were acknowledged and put on a seating list. A few minutes later, we sat. Our waitress was great and on it all! Hubby had a beer, while I had a delicious espresso martini. He had a special... Pork cutlets with vinegar peppers. He chose potato and veg. Although he liked it, he was disappointed that the cutlets were fried (it didn't say it on the sheet). I had chicken Parm, with penne. Very good. We would come back. A place filled with the locals, it is worn. Mismatched chairs, dented tables almost making it feel comfortable for those who are regulars. There are two sides, hence the two doors, and when we asked which was the "front door" they said it didn't matter! The bar side has a giant bar some booths and a few tables. Cherry Hills food is amazing, the drinks are A1. It's this small little place with a large selection of food choices especially there Italian and seafood. Good prices. Staff is super friendly. This little gem is nestled in the Cherry Hill neighborhood. I really enjoy breakfast here. The service is always fast and the food consistent. The home-fries always cooked well. And the specialty omelettes are tasty! For dinner last time I was here .. we started off with calamari.. it was freshly fried and came out hot. The baked scrod was fresh, flaky, and just enough topping. The side of broccoli was drenched in oil and heavily seasoned. Well we're to start....was greeted okay nothing fancy. I ordered a water, no ice and it was faucet water..nasty. I had a chicken salad sandwich the chicken was processed so much from Left over chicken from the day before...it was like smooth no chunks no substance. The Cole slaw was off, had too much vinegar or something. So I wasn't happy. My friend ordered lobster wrap with no tomato, well it came with tomato. Half the wrap was tomato. Don't get me wrong,nice place but the Chef needs some fine tuning. I don't recommend the place but it was clean, nice atmosphere. The appearance upon entrance is comforting because of the classic pub feel. Off to a good start but the service wasn't great. The waitress seemed to always be in a rush and messed up on two of the meals. My steak was supposed to have onions and one of the sides was fries when is was supposed to be a side of spinach. However still, mistakes happen. But we were never asked for refills. Also when the side of spinach finally came out the waitress spilled spinach water on my left shoe (she was trying to bring it fast and again seemed in a rush). As you can see the stain is barely there now so it wasn't a big deal. Anyway, this was my first time here so I can't let 1 bad experience say it was terrible, so I think 3 stars is appropriate. read more

Let me tell you this, this place is the poster child for not judging a book by its cover. And don't take that the wrong way, the place is clean as a whistle. What I mean is that it's a small restaurant, practically a diner, but the food is outstanding and priced well below average. So I order the Chicken Parmigiana every where I go, have been for years, it's Saul Rosenberg's signature dish. And let me tell you this, I'd put Cherry Hill's chicken parmigiana up against the best of them. Gordon Ramsey, if you follow my reviews, please give Cherry Hill's chicken parmigiana a try. The chicken is a generous portion cooked to perfection. Never over cooked, always well seasoned, delicious is an understatement. Priced like it's the early 90s at $10 a dish (served with pene), you can't go wrong. Just keep this in mind, they're closed on Sundays and Mondays. I forgot what day it was, which I tend to do from time to time, so when I arrived on a Monday I drifted off into a mild depression when I remembered they were closed on Monday's. But you bet I was back there bright an early Tuesday! One last thing for all of my breakfast fans out there, Cherry Hill has a full open bar even during breakfast hours! We have been coming here for a few years now. The prices are decent and the food is usually quite delicious! The portion sizes are generous and the staff is friendly and efficient. For breakfast, their omelettes are huge and the pancakes are so yummy! For lunch, I love their egg drop and onion soups and the chicken parmigiana is delicious! We've had a few little issues over the years but the girls are always quick to fix them and make sure we leave happy! read more

Cherry Hill Grille is so close to my house that when they first opened I decided to give it a try! When they FIRST 'opened' I noticed the place was RARELY OPEN let alone 'BUSY'. One night when I was heading home I decided to stop in and try a nightcap; since their bar was within walking distance of my house- but unfortunately they were CLOSED! ANNOYING!! IT SEEMED they were ALWAYS CLOSED, had an empty parking lot, and there would be NOBODY in the bar/parking lot- which is why I believe they weren't doing very well! As a bartender who's been behind a bar for 10+ years- I immediately noticed that the bartender was untrained and inexperienced. I asked her about a few drinks and she didn't know what was in over 70% or the drinks!! I also realized that the bar was not properly stocked! You can't make a mojito without mint and a muddle tool. And you should be able to make simple drinks like margaritas or I stopped in for a drink and To my surprise it was awesome! Not too weak, not too strong- the perfect mix! The bartender was also wicked sweet, friendly, and entertaining as a bartender SHOULD be! I also enjoyed the fact that the bar was empty (sorry- I hope the bartenders and waitress' made money that night)... Now that the bar is consistently busy- my family and I go here FREQUENTLY (despite the long lines and occasional wait time). After a few months I noticed that on certain days (usually on a Sat/Sun morning) that the Grill would be PACKED. I'm talking the parking lot, tables, and booths were all full. The wait was quite long (40+ minutes) and with nowhere to really wait- there were people practically wrapped around the building. I'm the type of person who wouldn't have any problems sitting at a bar- but I had my young son with me so that wasn't appropriate! There is more seating at this restaurant then you would think because it's technically two buildings merged into one! Once we were FINALLY seated our waitress named 'Dana' came over immediately and made such a great impression with my family and son! Nothing is worse than a boring waitress! She was friendly, talkative, warm with my son and knew the menu very well! Once we got our breakfasts they were absolutely delicious! One of the best spots to get breakfast at! Definitely a sleeper spot or hidden gem! read more

I was in RI visiting family and my aunt suggested Cherry Hill. Went for Sunday breakfast. Rather crowded when we walked in, but immediately seated at the front booth. Fast service in taking our orders, but had to wait for delivery of our food. Waitress apologized and gave us a delicious blueberry muffin for our wait! My wife and I were in town to watch the most amazing musical at RIC. Starring my nephew Taylor Santoro. We were early and had planned on stopping for some dinner. We turned the corner and there it was, we figured what the heck lets give it a shot. Well let me tell you this place has a family atmosphere, the service was fantastic, from the wait staff to the bartender that talked to us about the different beers. I'm actually writing this review for my father, who recently visited this establishment. Now mind you, he has gone here many times before and enjoyed it, for breakfast, lunch and dinner....Well this last visit he was very disappointed....He made a special trip to get a specific dish they make, but he ended up walking out of the place because of the service that night...one of the waitresses told him it would be about 20 minutes to be seated, well after waiting the 20 minutes...the waitress allowed another couple to be seated that walked in without even waiting..... The service is ok during the day, but it seems like they can't handle a night business on the weekend, one hand doesn't know what the other one is doing, which eventually with hurt business....It doesn't matter how good your food is, if your service sucks, people will not return......I myself have been to this restaurant for breakfast and lunch and the food is pretty good, if I were to rate them on just they're good, then they would get 4 stars....I was going to try the dinner sometime....but after what my father told me, I'm not in a rush to go anymore... AWFUL SERVICE!!!! I cannot disagree more with the review before this, especially with the "quick service". I waited 20 minutes or so for a table, which is expected on a Saturday morning. After I finally sit and receive my beverage, the waitress tells us that they have a catering order (which clearly was more important than the waiting customers) and that they would not place our order in for 20 minutes. (this should have been stated while we were waiting for a table) After waiting already for 20 minutes, we felt no need to leave, so we chose to wait. ONE HOUR LATER we called the waitress over, who was NOT apologetic whatsoever. She said they hadn't even begun our order and that there were slips ahead of ours. (Never mind the fact that within the hour, they did not offer to refill our coffee or apologize for the wait) TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, a table of 4 that had come in long after us had placed their order 5 minutes before we were reassured our food was coming. THEY RECEIVE THEIR ORDER WITHIN 10 MINUTES, and yet our table still had nothing. We chose to get up and leave. -The staff was rude and unsympathetic. -The wait for breakfast, the fastest meal to cook, was horrific. I will never go back again. Why was this place not listed on Yelp yet??????? This is one of favorite diners for breakfast in Rhode Island for a few reasons. 1. Amazing breakfast food 2. Cheap prices 3. Quick service I'm still baffled as to why this place was not already listed on Yelp, but now the secret is out. The Cherry Hill Grill is a small place, 12 tables or so, located in Johnston RI on Rt 128. There is plenty of parking in the front and around the back, so that's never an issue. When you enter Cherry Hill Grille you will notice that the decor is kind of like a cafeteria with the old school wooden formica booths, but it's very clean. I usually hit this place on a Sunday around noon or 1pm, so there is never a line. They always tell me that the place is slammed on Sunday morning, and then starts to slow down as it gets closer to 2pm when they close. I would consider the menu to be somewhat stander for a diner, with breakfast items such as; omelets, breakfast burritos, stuffed french toast, breakfast sandwich's, and so on. Even thought the items might be normal they taste extraordinary! Omelets are always cooked perfectly with plenty of filling on the inside. The stuffed french toast is made from two thick slices of bread with a fluffy cream cheese and fruit filling. One thing I have come to look for at a great breakfast spot is good hash browns. You'd be surprised how many places can not cook hash browns. The hash browns at Cherry Hill Grille are AWESOME! The service is always quick and very friendly. There are always plenty of newspapers and a few TV's to watch if you are eating solo style. I recommended this place to anyone who is looking to enjoy a great breakfast at a great price. read more

Small and casual spot with friendly service. They offer a two for $20 dinner which includes an appetizer to share and two dinners. For an extra $10 you can have a bottle of wine as well. The portions were very large, more than enough for leftovers the next day. I had the eggplant parm. Although good it was a little over breaded and fried for my taste. Ignorant loud patrons yelling over everyone in the place talking about how the furgueson shooting was justified, he kept shouting "the black kid had 2 guns!" Grabbed some take out for lunch. Ended up getting the "new and improved" lobster roll (lol.) Alrighty. Its 2012. There are more cooking shows and culinary expeditions on TV than there are soap operas now. Please tell me that a roll filled with lobster and mayonnaise is not the best you've got.... It was good, however not $17 good. Cut back on the mayo, through some finely diced celery in there, toss in a little smoked paprika, and squirt some fresh lemon juice in there as well. Not difficult, not expensive... just simple and freshens up the dish a little bit. Hate to sound like I am insulting the chef, because the lobster was cooked perfect, but damn did that mayo just takes away from the lobster itself. Not to mention, when its 85 degrees out, a couple tablespoons of mayo in a hot dog roll is not at the top of my list of "things i want to experience today." Fries were delicious and i'm sure there are many other good plates here. They are close by so i will definitely try out some other dishes. Waitstaff was friendly.
