My wife ordered baked scrod and I ordered clam chowder and clam cakes. The scrod was very fishy taste was battered instead of baked and butter. The clams in both the clam cakes and a clam chowder were overcooked and very chewy. The clam cakes did not have a very good taste to them very dull. read more

Horrible manager and no response from owner until he blocked me! My 70 year old mother took my niece and nephew but didn't bring enough cash for the $40 tip the manager expected and when he didn't get it he screamed at my mother and told her to get out she wasn't welcome he even walked to the table and threw the money at her and said get out! We tried contacting the owner multiple times by calling and leaving messages even tried on socials and NOTHING he even blocked me on Facebook when I tried to contact them about it. Completely unprofessional way to deal with customers of many years so disappointed that an owner would allow the staff to treat elderly that way and not try to fix the situation with a simple phone call. read more

The waitress Soha was exceptional! The other waitress also but we never got her name. We had 23 people and they set up 3 large tables. They got everyone their drinks first. They brought out continuous Italian bread. They served us soup or salad and I asked for an extra salad and Soha remembered and brought me one and two others. We then were served delicious chicken breast, penne, French fries, mashed potatoes with gravy continuously. Everything was delicious. Even the coffee and parfaits! The place was immaculate! The men's bathroom was immaculate with hot water! I highly recommend this restaurant! Plenty of parking and it was full on a Wednesday night! Well done! read more

There's a few pretty cool items inside this place that catch your eye. A ship in the outer foyer and a birdcage like piece on the inner foyer. Decor is cozy and not over done. Seating is comfortable and spacious. Our server was very polite and attentive and knowledgeable. The drinks are made well and very reasonably priced. The food is also a great price for the size of the portions you get. We started with clams casino. Usually I'm very iffy with them because they tend to be overcooked and dry. However, I was pleasantly surprised. They were cooked absolutely perfectly! It was probably the best part of the dinner. My friend ordered the scallops Nantucket with butternut squash. Scallops were cooked well. Squash had a little too much allspice and probably could've use some butter and brown sugar to even it out. But she still enjoyed them and the dish overall. I ordered the seafood Alfredo. It wasn't bad but it wasn't something I would order again from here. The mussels didn't taste fresh at all. The Alfredo was severely lacking in flavor. I'm not one to salt my food (unless it's French fries) but I added salt, pepper and Parmesan cheese to my dish. The shrimp tasted like it was the freshest part of the dish. I'm going to say that even tasting my friends scallops, they didn't taste fresh at all. Not a bad meal though. We didn't leave anything behind. However, I don't think this is going on my recommendation list. At least not for seafood. Went here for dinner tonight, first took forever to pick up the phone, second forgot my whole husbands order, and then while I'm eating the stuffed shrimp doesn't look like it's cooked at all. They did give use a refund on my husband food and two free dessert that don't look cooked at all. So totally would not recommend ordering take out. First I will say the food is usually pretty good. The chicken soup, side salad, fish and chips and pasta were all good! However, the sausage was chewy and tasteless, and the eggplant, and I love eggplant, but this was terrible, I have no other way to describe it! I could be wrong but I think the cook ran these through the microwave way too long completely making the eggplant inedible! Anyway, all was not lost, the service and Ambience were good! I was hungry and wanted a good size burger that didn't cost $15. So I stopped here and ordered a burger (cooked to perfection) with cole slaw and a side salad for 3.99. A nice quiet pub with attentive service and food served in minutes. Great place to stop after a day of hiking Rocky Point. They are open daily (unlike some places that close on Monday and Tuesday). It took awhile to be greeted by the server. This is not a first impression but the waiter eventually came and was very nice. The French Onion soup was warm and had a burnt taste. Traditional food served just enough to be tasty. Expect no twists. I did go 3x on different days. I had the seafood casserole, then was turned on to specials on Sundays, then went there for a really late breakfast that turned into lunch. They have specials on weeknights and weekends. There are all-you-can-eat chicken or pot roast dinners with salad. Good when you are really just feeling hungry and are not in the mood for the fancy schmancy dishes of today's restaurants. Placed a takeout order to go, main item was fine, but my soup and sides that came with the order were wrong or tasted awful. I asked for fries, zucchini, and chicken noodle soup. Instead I received a chicken soup that tasted like it was cooked with a clam chowder. I had ordered french fries and instead I received mashed potatoes, and like I said I already zucchini but instead got butternut squash. This is not the first time this has happened I think this is the third time within a year. This restaurant used to be very good back in the day, I have no idea what happened. I frequent Sam's but usually get a chicken dish . I haven't had clam bellies from anywhere in about 5 years so that was tonight's choice. Do Not Buy they were horrible i opened the to go container there was a decent size pile so I ate a couple but no bellies at all same thing for about 5 more. Total clam bellies in that order tops was 4 of them and they were so small they were definitely illegal to take out of the water. All the rest were just necks in batter all mostly connected so it looks alot. So I'm going to say what they must do is cut the necks off clams when they make chowder and they use these to fill the clam bellies orders. read more

Best hidden gem in Warwick. My wife started bringing me to Sam's when we were dating. It's a great family place with a warm welcoming staff. The dining room is a little outdated, but it takes us back to a simpler time and reminds us of family and friends. While all of their staff is fantastic, their server Laurie has made Sam's our favorite dinner spot in Rhode Island. Every time we go she makes us feel so welcomed and so well taken care of. Lobster steak and fish Sam's Inn is relatively new but the actual building has been around since around 1960 or so and used to be called Bassett's Inn. I'm not sure why the name changed but the interior looks pretty much the same and the food and menu haven't changed a whole lot. Sam's Inn is a fairly large restaurant with several different rooms and two bars. Plenty of room to stretch out without being elbowed by the gluttony sitting next to you. It does get pretty crowded at times but the service is prompt, pleasant and friendly. The menu is huge with all kinds of seafood and more traditional stuff on it. Many meals also come with a choice of several different veggies, soup or the salad bar. The type of place where people of different tastes can go but everyone can still find what they like. It's not Bassett Inn anymore, but if they didn't change the name on the sign I wouldn't have even noticed. Still serves a variety of tasty food at reasonable prices and is large and spacious enough to absorb a whole bunch of people without being crowded. This used to be a really good restaurant when it was Bassetts Inn. Since the new owners have taken over the prices have dramatically increased as quality of food has dramatically gone down. I would not recommend going there other than the sandwiches and fries sometimes are OK don't get any entrées they're all awful. read more

This was the worst experience I've ever had at Sam's Inn took 45 minutes to get a hamburger and chicken tenders when we finally got it the chicken tenders tasted rancid like to the point where I could not even eat more than two bites the mashed potatoes with cold bacon burger was totally raw and ice cold we took one bite told the waitress we had to go it was terrible read more
