I tried the prime rib sandwich and I was really good with the side of Au Jus. The prime rib was flavorful and tender and the au jus was a perfect combination with the bread. As others ordered, I was very impressed with the looks of burgers coming out and the hot dogs looked huge with a large portion of chili on top. The service at the bar was decent tonight, we were able to order, get our food in a responsible amount of time, and we we able to order drinks without waiting too long. read more

The food here is great!!! But when they have music trivia it is way too loud to have a relaxing meal. In fact my husband and I haven't been here since the last time we went and they had music trivia. I asked the music trivia person to just turn it down a little, she said no. She said that everyone in the restaurant needed to hear it. Fine, I have no problems here. 2nd time, went on a slow weekday evening, and the server was not friendly and not attentive. I waited forever to get the wrong food. Best wings around!!!! And great burgers as well. We've visited here several times after first being introduced to Boomerangs through Rhode Island Food Fights. Service is a little iffy - you might get great service, or it might be really slow. We've had both experiences here. Outdoor seating is nice in the summer, especially when there's music trivia inside. Drinks are good and Boomerangs has a comfortable neighborhood bar feel. Boomerangs has a "dive bar" feel with mismatched 'man cave' decor (neon beer signs, random taxidermy animals, and classic 90's movie posters) strewn about. The bar and restaurant are painted dark colors and there was a sense of general disorganization throughout (multiple signs at the host stand and on the glass doors, tables and chairs stacked in front of the kitchen door in full view of customers etc) We went to check out their award winning wings and ordered some sandwiches too. In addition to having many wing choices (breaded, skin only, boneless or classic, and dozens of sauce and rub options) they also have a huge menu and offer family style platters and a great kids options too. Unfortunately, after waiting 30+ minutes for our food, we decided to ask to change our order to go instead (we had somewhere else we needed to be!) It took another 15 minutes for them to pack up our order. We paid our bill and left and ended up eating our meal when we got home (two hours later) The chicken wings were very tasty and our sandwiches were good too. Our server was very sweet and kept apologizing about the wait. We overheard some of the regulars at the bar laughing and having a great time. Unfortunately, this vibe didn't translate to us in the dining room. When we arrived there was only one other table seated in the dining room so I'm not sure where the disconnect was at that particular moment that caused the long delays. My expectations weren't too high after hearing reviews by way of mouth, but I was very pleasantly surprised with the flavor and quality of all my food and drinks! I ordered some tomato soup (more like a creamy bisque- a little chunky and definitely contained dairy, they really should update the menu so nobody is unpleasantly surprised. I actually prefer a bisque so it worked for me but was heavier than I expected) with the grilled cheese combo, and it came with a big crunchy deli pickle - how delightful! The grilled cheese was toasty and had a unique blend of cheeses that made it feel higher end. Their winter drink specials were creative and sounded delicious. I got the Winter Sangria which went down very easily, and it came in a fun Tiki cup! Our waitress was so friendly and accommodating to our questions and any special requests. Only taking off a star for the incredibly loud live music - you couldn't hear yourself think once the band started up. You could tell some people came just for the band, people were dancing and even getting a bit sloppy as time went on, but the sound equipment was way too overpowering for the size of the space and was a miserable experience. Nobody under 50 seemed to be there for the band, so maybe some age related hearing loss made it tolerable to everyone but my friend and I. It really ruined what was otherwise a fun find for us - tell the bands to read the room and use volume settings appropriate for their environment! I'd go back only if I was assured no blaring band would be there, it really detracted from the experience but the food was comforting and were elevated versions of classics to my surprise. read more

I really wanted to give this place a higher rating because the food was actually quite good, but the service was so poor that I can't justify more than one star. The issues started at the door; two employees were taking smoke breaks right by the front entrance, so the smell of cigarette smoke filled the air as we walked in. Once seated, our waitress took both our drink and food orders. She delivered our drinks, but then completely vanished. After waiting for 30 minutes with no updates, we had to flag down a different waitress--who seemed visibly annoyed and in a bad mood, just to check on our food. When it finally arrived, the appetizer and entrees were brought out at the same time, which was frustrating as we wanted the app first. Throughout the night: * Waters were never refilled. * We were never asked if we wanted another drink. * No one checked on us unless we hunted down the other waitress. So we're here with a sandwich passport it was very pleasantly surprised to find it was eight different selections of sandwiches that they were offering for the coupon. We chose a Philly steak sandwich. Nice not thin, not thick a piece of steak with grilled onions and Swiss cheese it's really cooked very well. Perfectly grilled rolI could eat the roll without nothing else. It's so good. The gentleman that was here seated us right away all right we could pick that room as it wasn't busy today which always coming in was not too busy. It wasn't busy. The game was on which was nice. He brought us over Pepsi and ice water we also served with an a juis type of gravy. It was delicious. It wasn't overly salty or anything which was nice. It was a nice dark color. It also offers Keno as well as many televisions and really good experience. As you can see from my picture it was very fulfilling. We couldn't even finish it. We end up splitting half of the sandwich and taking the other half home. It is definitely worth the money, even if we didn't have the coupons. The patty tasted dull and under-seasoned and the fries were just standard. The atmosphere is appealing if you're a sports fan. Several TV's above the bar and banners of all our local teams. The prices seemed average but the overall experience was undesirable. If you are looking for a burger focused on flavor and that won't make you feel like your arteries are clogged, other options may be preferable. The burger just did not meet expectations. read more

It was Boomerang's Roadhouse Friday night. No apps for us, we know we will enjoy whatever we order, which, tonight, were burgers. My husband had the Big Pat, with bacon and cheese. He chose a side Caesar salad instead of fries. He ate the whole huge burger. I had the Boomerang's signature burger, with lettuce and tomato. Mine came with homemade chips. The espresso martini was delicious. Hubs had an IPA. Service was good, and our food came out fairly quick. The large bar was very busy. Chillax place that had live music bangin' til midnight on a Friday night. I rate it 1 star because the chili made me so sick. I have never had an experience with food coming-back-up like this, in my entire life. I drank 2 standard Narragansett lagers and can easily drink more with no consequences... it was 100% the chili...and not the beer... Genuinely such a horrid experience. I had no idea what to expect from Boomerang's Roadhouse, but the parking lot was full, so I took that as a good sign. Upon entering, I took note of the interior. It was rather dark and dingy, and the menus we received had sticky food schmutz smeared on them. The vibe was off-putting for me, but almost every table was full and they had (very loud) live music going on. When our waitress came over, I felt like us being there was the biggest inconvenience to her. Not 1 introduction or smile, definitely not a welcoming atmosphere. My husband and I ordered 3 items to split - the Hot Honey Bang Bang Broccoli, Ribeye Aus Jus Steak Sandwich, and the Cuban sandwich. The service was incredibly slow. We waited about an hour for our food and, during this hour, our waitress did not check up on us. But, she did attempt a half-hearted apology after our food arrived. When we finally received our meals (sans Ribeye Sandwich due to a mix up in the back), we dove into the broccoli first, and it was really bad. They somehow managed to gummify broccoli. It was like chewing a glob of paste (I would imagine), and the sweet Thai chili dipping sauce was unnaturally gelatinous. The Cuban was not terrible, but not that good either. It was a big portion which I appreciate, but the sandwich was dry. it needed much more mustard, and the meats were bland. Laying eyes on the delayed Ribeye Sandwich, oh, what a sad sight. The meat was gray! It had 0 flavor and tasted like the boiled meat scraps that should be discarded after making a beef stock. The brioche bun was also the entirely wrong vessel for this type of sandwich. If you're going to give a Jus for dipping, the bun should be harder, then soften a bit when dipped. In this case, the brioche was already soft, then turned to mush upon dipping into the watery Jus. Sadly, I had an unpleasant experience at Boomerangs Roadhouse and, unlike a boomerang, I will not be back. read more

We were in town for one night to go to a Providence Bruins game. We asked a local shop where was the best place to eat. He said Boomerang Roadhouse is "exceptional." We called ahead to ask if there was call ahead seating. The guy who answered said we have a high top available as long as we were out by 8pm. It was 6:20pm. When we arrived, we got seated and ordered our drinks and dinner. Two burgers. At 6:40pm. At 7:30pm we asked if there was an eta on the two burgers. They really didn't say anything. At 7:50pm. I asked the guy who we had spoken to about the table if he knew an eta for the burgers. His response was we are working on it-we're busy. 8pm we asked the waitress if $10 would cover our Pepsi and Arnold Palmer. She said "you're leaving??" I responded yes. This is the first repeat restaurant as I went here last year (and also for the Best Burger Challenge). I asked what I should have and the staff suggested a few sauces but it was two regulars that sold it. The 24KT Gold Buffaque. I loved this sauce. Solid barbecue taste with a bit of heat. Boomerang gives you the choice of breaded or smoked. I (of course) went smoked and that just added to the flavor. The wings were big but not fatty. A really solid entry into the challenge. read more

To start off, food was solid. The bacon burger was quite good. Onion rings were basic but good. The wings were disappointing. Both the breaded and non breaded were not great and the sauces were sub par. Now for the service. It was horrible. We placed our wing orders not long after arrival and they came out after our burgers (which we ordered about 15-20 minutes after the wings). They kept saying "those will be right out" or "we will check on them" but they never came out or set expectations that it would take longer. Came here as part of the RI Food Fights burger promotion. I wasn't interested in the burger, so my friend took the burger and I ordered a chicken parm sandwich and homemade chips. Drinks come in smallish timi glasses and 60% ice. For what appeared to be an understaffed place, maybe bigger glasses and less ice might make sense to avoid multiple refills or annoyed customers. It took a while for the food to arrive, and when it did, mixed emotions. Chips looked great and tasted great as well, although unevenly salted. Chicken was a real chicken breast, not something frozen, but over fried. Nice looking and tasting brioche bun, but it was not able to be eaten as a sandwich because of the chicken not being a full breast, but split weirdly, and the softness of the bun, it had to be deconstructed to be eaten. There was a weird flavor that I couldn't identify either in the sauce or the chicken. At first I thought the chicken might have been fried in with fish, but then it was sort of a savory taste that didn't make sense, like barbecued chicken, ultimately, we decided that the sauce just tasted metallic. Not sure if it comes out of a can or what, but it's weird. Overall, it was a strange experience. I wanted to like it. There were things that I did like. But for everything I liked there was something that detracted from the experience. Overall, I don't think this is a boomerang that will be returning for me. read more

Went here for lord of the wings and it was a gem! If it was closer It'd be our local. Despite it being part of the Lord of the wings, the wings were brilliant - best we had during any of our lord of the wings visits. This was unlike some specialty wings places in RI where the wings were lacking and some didnt have any meat on them. Service was pleasant and quick. Loved the ambience of the place and the can do anythings not too much trouble attitude of the staff. Just like a local should be. I recently ordered pickup from Boomerangs. Crispers, Zucchini sticks & Blue cheese After arriving about 20 min later, I had to wait ~30 min inside after paying an extra non disclosed credit card fee. When I got home and opened the food, I was disgusted, the chicken was barely covered in sauce and looked to be burned... It was barely edible and we had to throw it out. They didn't even provide the blue cheese which we paid extra for.... The zucchini sticks, while a large portion, were mushy and over fried.... The tomato sauce could not help it... First off I love this place. Whenever I'm in the west Warwick area and I'm thinking of going out to eat I always think of boomerangs. The crowd is very friendly at the bar and the owner is very nice as well. The biggest problem is consistency. Some days they're firing on all cylinders and it's a great experience. Other days they're short staffed and it's not so great. Particularly the bbq - some days it's the best bbq I've ever had. Other days the ribs are tougher than a $3 steak. This is the absolute worst restaurant I have ever been to. We had a reservation for 7:30, walked in at 7:25, waitress sat a group of three at our reserved table for 10. Ordered pretzels and poutine for appetizers, we STILL have not received it and it's nearly an hour after we ordered it. Not to mention the fact that when it was ordered the place was a ghost town, booths and the bar. So there is absolutely no excuse as to why "the kitchen is backed up", because you had plenty of time to fire that before more people came in. Server is too busy yapping with her friends at the bar and in other booths to pay attention to her section. I've seen better front of house and back of house when I played with my zhu-zhu pets at the experienced age of 7. The only redeeming factor was the woman that sang Valerie by Amy Winehouse, she's got the voice of an angel. However, the male singer makes me wish I was born without my eardrums. My mother and I both had to go up to the bar to ask where our food was. Still no food! Incompetent and daft staff. It is now 8:43 and we have finally received all of our APPETIZERS. Over an hour after we ordered them. You can't throw gravy and mozzarella sticks on fries and call it "poutine" that's literally not how that works. Soft pretzels were somehow dry and wet at the same time. Not to mention the fact that this was a Wednesday night. Air conditioning was leaking and dripping all over my sister and her boyfriend. No parking at all, which doesn't surprise me since people are probably stuck at their booths for 8 hours. And another thing, why is a man singing Pink Pony Club if he can't hit any of the notes. Pick a song in your vocal range buddy. It is now 9:16, my sister and her boyfriend are the only ones without their food. Our waitress is standing around doing absolutely nothing. 9:18, the last two have received their food. The onion rings were like biting into a stack of straw. Over fried and they need to clean their oil. I have had beef jerky that isn't as dry as this brisket. It's like they took it as a challenge to recreate the dry turkey in Christmas vacation. Mac and cheese is so bland and unflavored that I thought I was eating Elmer's glue. We finally left at 9:25, I will now need to buy myself dinner again because this place sucks. My wife and two friends went to Boomerrangs the night before Thanksgiving to see a friend band play, I have always enjoyed the food here at Boomerrangs and the weight staff, if you want wings in Rhode Island, this is the place to go, they have an amazing variety of wings on hand. They have great draft beers and bottle beers in a full bar, the location is easy to get to and has plenty of parking. Today we came back and the food was just as good and the same bartender was working. He was the only one serving parties at the bar, at tables and on the patio so he was really hustling back and forth. He was still very pleasant and just going with the flow. RI Food Fight Wings review: On the main road with a parking loot. We entered in and you're immediately hit with sports in the face! Great- the game was on. We sat in a little cubby area with a private tv. Made eating with a 2 year old a little easier. The kids wanted loaded fries. Real, full pieces of bacon drizzled on top of melted cheese (not nacho but shredded) and a side of sour cream. The fries were a family win. The wings: Salt and vinegar was our choice. The puddle of flavor under the wings gave us the flavor we were looking for but too much pepper for salt n vinegar wings. But that flavor did not not stick to the wings.
