I was recently looking for a Hookah place in austin - and heard this was a great establishment to come check out (as they also double as a coffee bar and great WFH place). For the parking, it was very crowded, as there is only about 8-10 spots! I'd suggest either finding street parking, or trying your luck to find a spot in the parking lot (if you have a truck - it'll be a tight fit!) The hookah experience itself was nice, but I do wish the furniture was maintained a little bit (burn marks in couches, blemishes to table, etc.) to make the whole experience better! Nice little joint. Hookah flavors are made strong and place is not so crowded. The decorations and lounge area makes it very chill and relaxing. The first time we went, we had a good experience with a nice staff member. She explained the flavors well, made conversation and was friendly. The next few times we went, we had not so friendly staff. We asked her to place the hookah on the ground instead of up high on the round table. She simply said that it won't reach, left it and walked away. It was a round table and we have this arrangement regularly when we share with our friends, whether on a round table for regular patio 4 x 4 table. It's better so that the wind won't blow charcoal into our faces and prevents accidents. Later we asked for a switch out to natural coals instead and the response was that she can't now, we should've asked for them at the beginning, the bowl is not meant for natural coals. Again, we've never had this problem or response from any other hookah bars before. The parking lot is extremely tight, and when it gets busy it becomes difficult to get out of. Came to visit Austin, and I wanted to try out this hookah lounge. The moment I go in the receptionist gave me a horrible attitude and when I ask for her name she says I don't have one. When her co worker comes by she says yeah don't give me that look. Dear business owners, I own and operate a hookah lounge myself and these two girls are bringing your business down, they have a horrible attitude and they're not welcoming. If there was a way to give a zero star I would have done so. Advise: teach them how to do the job right, and not give customers an attitude, over 200 people are moving to Austin on the daily. And hookah lounges are a targeted place for visitors especially from the Middle East. This is my favorite hookah lounge in central Austin! They have lots of flavors and put ice inside a part of the hookah underneath the bowl, keeping the smoke cool and refreshing. I love the variety in seating options and layout of the building. There are tables outside (front and back patio) and a mix of tables and couches inside. Very comfortable place to work and study and also great for relaxing or meeting up with friends. The staff are hookah experts and consistently come around to swap out the charcoal. Since COVID they began using disposable hoses. Windows are often cracked open so there is good air circulation and the rooms do not get stuffy or fill with smoke. Smoking age in Texas is 21 years old. They allow BYOB for a small fee. Lastly they don't serve food but have lots of drink options and flavors of hot tea. read more

Hands down my favorite hookah bar in Austin. The staff is friendly, caring, and never slacks on bringing you new coals. The owner has perfected the art of training his team - the bowls have flavor through the end and the smoke is thick (we all know thats important) all this mixed with the atmosphere and music makes it worth your money. Just paid 23 for a hookah, thinking they were closing at normal business hours. The lady informs me as she brings the hookah, "just a heads up, we're closing at one tonight." I said, "I wish I had known that before I paid for a hookah, that's only 30 minutes." Her only response was "yeah you're welcome." A heads up-is before I pay. Not after I spent 23 dollars to smoke for thirty minutes, that could've let me smoke at home for the week. I just ran out of tobacco at home and smoke shops were closed. So I won't be coming back. So I knew going into this place that parking was a nightmare, but goodness I thought I saw an empty space, nope...it was someone who double parked into a space, ugh so awkwardly I had to reverse back out onto 24th and park at the bicycle shop across the street. So whoever you are, if you're reading this, it's advisable to park at the bicycle shop after business hours. So my small group (3 of us) go to the back patio, are served water, and place our order for hookah. Btw, hookah for one flavor is $15.99... more than saya redline and maybe kasbah. Seriously, I am not a pushy person but we received our hookah 15mins later. Why? The coal wasn't placed on right so we asked for someone to fix it, we're told that they would be right out to fix it. Nope 10 mins go by and finally we get someone to fix the coal. The fan was spraying mist that was getting my friends hair wet, she asked for the mist to be turned off and the patron there said that we could move if we liked, alright so we moved although we liked our table. I am not sure but the overall experience was just eh. I guess having to wait so long for someone to help us and not only that but our server gave us two tips not three... I went to this place since it was the only place open early for hookah. The 3-7 happy hour deal is awesome. I dunno about Aly's experience, but most of the hookah places I've been have been more than or equal to the 16.99 price that they charge normally. Not to mention, most places use foil too... although I'm sad that Aly's service sucked, but my service was awesome! There was a girl who resembled a blond Emma Stone. Totally cute. The staff were very nice to us and came by to give us another coal as we were dimming down. The hookahs themselves, I thought, were really good. They put ice under the tobacco, not in the water, which gave the smoke a nice cool feel. The decor was actually pretty chill. In fact, most of the furniture was chill and relaxing. I am sure that once it gets busy, it can be kinda annoying trying to find a good spot because most of the seating areas are spaced out for comfort. That is a nice thing, but I feel like the amount of seating is low. But that is not a bad thing... just if it's crowded. They also have their own parking! so that's very awesome. You don't have to try to snag west campus parking. That shit sucks yo. Oh btw, 4 people = 1 hookah. So you may wanna remember that. Kinda reminds me of the old Kasbah...without assholes. read more

This is my first hookah lounge I went which had a small parking lot. So my experience and my review might be taken with a grain of salt. I obviously haven't done hookah before and the girl behind the counter was very patient with me and my friends. She gave us the tobacco with had the least amount of nicotine but had flavor. The tobacco had an easy taste when you smoked it and the flavor was blueberry. The employees were attentive and came around often to see if our hookah was properly lit. Really like the vibe of this place. They have a great selection of tobacco flavors and they use pretty good coals. They also have a person that will change your coals when they start burning out. The hookah hits pretty well and does not get hot. Despite the no outside food or drink they have a one time charge of a $2.50 per person for BYOB drinks. The place itself is really roomy and keeps it from being really smoky, but not in a bad way, mind you! it smells great. I appreciated the good music that was playing in the PA as well as the really clean and roomy bathrooms. I'm a regular at Arab Cowboy and always came here several times a week to get my hookah fix. The atmosphere was pretty chill, and the staff are all great people. Recently Arab Cowboy has renovated to serve alcohol and food, but you can no longer hookah indoors. I was a fan of the remodeling, but I was unaware that I wouldn't be allowed to hookah indoors now. It's too hot in Texas for me to hookah outdoors. Usually I came here during happy hour, but it's not really an option for me anymore because 3pm-7pm is too hot to hookah outdoors. I hate to give this place a 3, but since they got their liquor license, you can only smoke outside! It's fucking hot out there! The whole mood is a bit ruined when you are forced to sit in clothes drenched in your own sweat thanks to our 103 degree Texas summer. It's a shame because the shisha is very good. They have a molasses based and honey/molasses based tobacco - the choice is yours. I prefer the honey/molasses because it is completely washed and cleaner. It's always smooth. Hookahs are large, ornate, and clean. Mouth pieces are not the cheap cone type, but the duck bill type made with thick plastic. Just tried their food yesterday, and it's pretty limited. They have.. grilled cheese sandwiches? For $5 you get a normal sized grilled cheese with meat or w/e you order inside and chips or tomato soup. Sandwiches taste alright, but they're small. Soup is straight up the tomato sauce from Chef Boy RD. They also have some skee ball machines in there now... might as well put a sign outside saying "HEY FRAT BRO DUDES, YOU CAN MAKE A LOT OF NOISE HERE TOO!" read more

I have the feeling that it's hard to go wrong with a hookah bar. You have chairs and people come to smoke. Fortunately, this place seems to pride themselves in getting the comfiest chairs in town. This certainly made the whole experience more enjoyable than having to sit in normal hard chairs. Also, the location is convenient in which you can engage in people watching, mostly college kids. Unfortunately, this place was terrible understaffed. There was only one person running around trying to please everyone. I'm not sure if they were just caught off guard with the number of people there but the service was lacking. This place is very secluded from the rest of Guadalupe (which always seems to have many people) making this a good place to go if you don't want to be packed in a room with others or worse, outside on a hot summer day. Their service was excellent (compared to Kasbah Hookah Lounge). They changed our coal frequently and you get a a free beverage upon paying at the cashier (if that means anything). If you'd like to get a good place (like a nice couch) I'd suggest getting their around 9. That's when people start getting there. To start off, this place is like a Starbucks with hookahs. It's overly sanitized and sterile. It has no life in it. The hookahs are way overpriced for how horrible they smoke (the bowls are SO tiny) and they have no life in them whatsoever. The seating is completely awkward in there. You either sit on horrible steel bar seats, or on the sectional couch where other people don't want to sit with you because "stranger danger". The outside seating is a joke as well- picnic tables. You have to get there way early to get a good seat, and spend tons of money to keep the night going. Aside from that, the hookahs just aren't very good. The bowl like I said is so tiny, and the flavor is gone so fast because of the quick lights burning out the bowl immediately. For an $18 hookah, I'd expect for the bowl to be a nice sized Egyptian and for me to be able to smoke for at least 2 hours, not 1. read more

Usually hookah places are dark and dinghy. I love the windows and the sunlight of this place. The service is always consistent, polite and quick. The hookah is smooth and does not die quickly. They keep changing coals very 5-10 mins up to 4-5 times. It's my comfort spot where I get my good ideas. read more
