This little corner was nice and warm next to a hearing air vent. Nice decor. Open layout, not cramped like some other hookah bars.

Nice little joint. Hookah flavors are made strong and place is not so crowded. The decorations and lounge area makes it very chill and relaxing. The first time we went, we had a good experience with a nice staff member. She explained the flavors well, made conversation and was friendly. The next few times we went, we had not so friendly staff. We asked her to place the hookah on the ground instead of up high on the round table. She simply said that it won't reach, left it and walked away. It was a round table and we have this arrangement regularly when we share with our friends, whether on a round table for regular patio 4 x 4 table. It's better so that the wind won't blow charcoal into our faces and prevents accidents. Later we asked for a switch out to natural coals instead and the response was that she can't now, we should've asked for them at the beginning, the bowl is not meant for natural coals. Again, we've never had this problem or response from any other hookah bars before. The parking lot is extremely tight, and when it gets busy it becomes difficult to get out of. Consider the place all compact car parking and risky for car scratches. If you're shopping for a good hookah bar, go to my Kasbah review. Kasbah has the best, professional staff, high quality hookah and Halal Bros - one of the best late night food joints Austin.

From the moment you walk in, you're encouraged to be your authentic self, and you're embraced because of it. This past May, my wife reached out to Kareem and Shareef about hosting a joint birthday celebration. From our very first conversation, it was clear they were just as excited about making the event special as we were. They went above and beyond to ensure every guest felt welcomed, valued, and at home. Our friends and family couldn't stop talking about the incredible atmosphere, exceptional customer service, and the genuine kindness shown by everyone at Aura. The evening was absolutely perfect, and it wouldn't have been the same without Kareem, Shareef, and the entire Aura family. If you're looking for more than just a place to hang out, if you're looking for a place where people truly care about creating community.. Aura is it. We are incredibly grateful for the experience and can't wait to be back.

The service was A1, along with the food and hookah. I love how they have their flavors set up for customers to view and smell what they're ordering before committing to it. Their knowledge and flexibility with mixing the flavors is top tier. The decor is also super cute in every corner, that all you influencers and social media girlies will def get your next viral' post in any spot that you sit here. There's also a vast majority of games that you have access to using with your party at any time of the night! We came in on a weekend night that they had a DJ playing. He had a good mix and although he didn't play much of my requests, he definitely catered to majority of the crowd that was actively dancing and turning it up to make it even more immersive. Because there are so many options in Austin, I can't say that I've repeated going to any place again thus far. But I can definitely say that I will be back here more than once, over and over, until they get sick of me (hopefully not) but to make the point that - we just loved our experience tonight so much. My people and I are so happy and satisfied with this space! Yay to finding this gem!

The owners have clearly built a business around quality, hospitality, and taking care of their guests. The manager does an outstanding job making sure everyone feels welcomed and that every detail is taken care of. It's rare to find a place that delivers exceptional food, outstanding service, and such a welcoming atmosphere all in one. The hardwood ceiling and the glass window in front of me seemed to amplify sound from every direction. I was with a group of six men, and none of us could hear each other. As the noise increased, every table seemed to raise its volume just to communicate, and it became painful. The food had a BBQ flavor, which was different for Mexican food. Some people may like that, but it was not what I expected. It was 4 star food. I think sitting outside would probably be much better.

Located off Anderson Mill in the corner of a strip mall is a bookshelf with a door on the right side. If you cannot figure out the entrance, there is a doorbell to ring as well. I believe it is owned by the same people who own The Mill bar right next door, which makes it feel like a cool bonus space. My friend and I sat next to a faux fireplace, where we were greeted by the only bartender working and placed our order. Once he opened the tab, it was disappointing that he never came back to check if we wanted another drink. It wasn't super busy on the Monday we went, but since he was the only one manning the bar, the bartender was always doing something, so I don't blame him fully for not checking back in with us. I ordered a drink called the Velvet Vice. It looked nothing like the picture and tasted similar to an Aviation cocktail with egg whites. I happened to really like it. It is a very relaxed space, but once the speakeasy gimmick wears off, it does not have much else going for it. It is still a cool place, but I am not sure it was worth the lengthy drive to get there. I arrived a bit earlier and it was confusing how to get into the building. I first went to the door closest to the Busy Signal sign and it was locked. I walked into the bar next to it, Victory East, and told the bartender I was waiting for Busy Signal to open, but he didn't tell me that the entrance was through their bar so my friends and I sat there for a while before realizing we could walk in and grab a seat inside the music location. Other than the confusion at first, we found the venue to be cute and nicely decorated. The bartender came up to our table to take our order. We had a nice view of the band (except for one pole in the view path) and chatted with the musicians during their break. One of my friends had met one of the guitar players before which is why we had even heard of this venue! A big plus was there was relatively easy and free nearby street parking!

Two, I came on Saturday and there were two DJs who were obviously having a lot of fun, which is good however, they do have the tendency to take you high and immediately low. For example, they would play a Sexxy Redd song and immediately Frank Ocean or even slower, Keith Sweat--the choices didn't make sense a lot of the time. WOMEN WHO COME TO DANCE don't like this, it really messes up the flow. I will say this is one of the few places that black people gather IN the city, so there's that. The bathroom is also disgusting but what can you expect when there's only TWO STALLS IN TOTAL, meaning there's no separate stalls for men or women. Also, these are the same two stalls that you share with restaurant goers so it can get busy.

Fresh pita & dips (free) - 5/5 As soon as we sat down the waiter brought out pita and a special dip that I never tried in other restaurants, and the pita was still warm like it had just come out of the oven. Soft, fluffy, and really fresh. I used it to dip into the sides we ordered later--the Baba Ghanouj and Hummus. The baba ghanouj had that roasted eggplant smokiness, while the hummus was thick, creamy, and very sesame-forward. Both were solid. Flatbread Trio ($15) - 5/5 This comes with three pieces but you can order a plate of three in the same kinds: meat, za'atar spice, and cheese. The za'atar one had that unique flavor--thyme, sumac, sesame seeds. The cheese flatbread came out hot and stretchy with three cheeses melted together. The meat one had minced beef and vegetables on a thin crust with slightly crispy edges. This one really impressed me. Lamb Kabob Platter ($19) - 4/5 Ground lamb mixed with onion and spices and grilled. The texture was fairly firm and the seasoning was pretty strong--you mostly taste the spices rather than the lamb itself. It comes with grilled tomato and onion, which adds a nice bit of sweetness and balances things out. It also comes with 2 sides--we chose baba ghanouj and hummus. The sides portion is really generous. Mixed Grill Combination ($23) - 4.5/5 It includes beef tenderloin, kafta skewers, and chicken shish tawook. The beef had a nice smoky grill flavor and was quite tender. The kafta had the strongest seasoning, and the chicken ended up being the lightest and juiciest of the three. It also comes with 2 sides--we chose baba ghanouj and salad. House dessert (pistachio pastry, $6) - 4/5 Looks pretty simple, but inside there's pistachio filling that gives it a really nice nutty sweetness. Not overly sugary, which I liked. I hope it could improve its appearance a bit. The food felt comforting and homey rather than fancy, and the portions were generous for the price.
