My adventurous friend invited me out tonight. I am usually cautious and reserved, so I took an evening nap to get ready. She is known for staying out to the wee hours of the night. First stop...hookah lounge. The first time I went to a hookah lounge was Cairo, Egypt and only for observation. So, we did not stay long and were there only for observation. Based on my research, "A hookah (also called shisha or waterpipe) is a multi stemmed smoking instrument designed to heat flavored tobacco and pass the smoke through water before you inhale. The water cools the smoke but does not remove harmful chemicals." Although it had a different name (Desert Kings), it was a hookah lounge. They have really good collection of a hookah flavors, with and without tobacco. Service is great. But they don't serve any food/snacks or alcohol (no even beer). But no need to worry it's byob (bring your own booze). There is gas station and Twin liquor next to it or you can bring your own fav drink and they will allow. They do serve tea, soft drinks etc. Staff is friendly and from the crown most of them looks regular and friendly. I highly recommend this place. read more

It is in a seedy strip center... and is a bit in need of a serious update. The couches are peeling, some of the lights go off when the air filter goes off, we had a swarm of fruit flies trying to attack our wine (it is byob so be sure to bring something) and the employees seem to be smoking more then tobacco in their Hookah. Now having said all of that... we were here for 2.5 hours!! We didn't even finish one hookah! And the house blend was sweet and very aromatic! (And it was a great price!) They changed out the coals often, the people were kind, they were attentive, and the longer we sat there with our wine and hookah the more we liked it!.The place certainly grows on you... My wife and I have never been to a hookah bar before and we have always wanted to. Hookah Buzz was an experience... My wife and I sat and talked for 2.5 hours, relaxed, and enjoyed ourselves! It was a nice deal. Now they really NEED TO GET RID OF THE FRUIT FLIES! I'm not kidding that was ridiculous! If they just did that I would give them another star! WOULD I GO BACK AGAIN... get rid of the fruit flies... and yeah... I'd come back for sure. read more

Bowl was packed correctly but took ages to get to us. The atmosphere was alright, if a little loud on the music side. They had an older menu so lacked the nicotine free options that were advertised. When paying, they jacked us up to the weekend price on a Wednesday simply because "They were busy." I wasn't in the mood to dispute it but $5 extra is still a bit insulting when they don't honor their own pricing structure. Overall, if it wasn't for that interaction, it would have been a place I came back to and enjoyed. Bit of a warning, they are under new ownership so don't expect the same service as past reviews. Every time I come here with my wife we get the most awesome customer service. The spot is really chill atmosphere is great. Audi takes great care of us. Customer service is on point, flavors are great as well. If you want a really relaxed atmosphere with great videos and chill music this is the place to be. The staff and owner are extremely nice and will fix any problem that you might have. Their hookah is the best ! Easy to smoke with a great variety in flavor and will last you at least an hour unlike many other places in Austin. Recently, they also started to offer milk tea and other tapioca drinks. Audi took care of us and answered all the questions we had without any sign of impatience. Gave us tongs when asked and checked on us frequently. I came here a few years ago when it had a different name. I'm assuming it now has all new management, and thank goodness for that. Everything is still set up the same inside, but the employees are MUCH more professional than the ones I met years ago. They do shift you around from table to table to accommodate how crowded they get, but the hookah itself is worth it. Our hookah lasted about 2 hours with 4 of us smoking it. Immediately as my husband and I entered a man with an unpleasant attitude and gold teeth approached us stating "$5 per person." My husband asked can we confirm that we want to patronize this establishment before being asked for $5.00 per person? My husband was then told " you don't tell me how to do my job, and if you don't like it there go the door." So we immediately left the establishment and tried to call and speak with management and the same guy who greeted us answered the phone and would not allow is to speak with management. I've been to this place almost every weekend for two years and this big Hispanic guy who has seen us before is going to ask for ID that's when the other employee told him we were good but he already told us he wouldn't serve us. What blows my mind is this same guy served us multiple times and started acting brand new today. My girl and I come here often, usually at ridiculous hours in the middle of the night. We always bring far more whiskey than is sensibly necessary and are probably just a bit more loud than we should be. Even with all our shortcomings, the staff has always been absolutely fantastic, accommodating, on point with drinks and shisha , and the atmosphere is fantastic. This is a great hookah bar! We went for a friend's birthday and they accommodated for all 10 of us to sit together around a table. The moved extra cushion benches and stools around. They have a big selection of flavors and large floor hookahs. They also have ice hose tips that I would r commend because it makes the mint flavors even smoother. The atmosphere is inviting and really nice for a gathering with friends. We went on a Friday night and stayed from 8:00pm-2:00am. They stay open till 4:30am on Fridays. They have teas, smoothies, coffees, wraps, and other snacks. Although, you can bring your own beer and food so we brought a small ice chest.
