I 100% see how this restaurant has such high reviews. Our food was very good. The service was also great. Management were very active in service. They both came to our table to check up on us which I was impressed by. The restaurant was also very nice ...music just right ... temperature just right and I liked how classy the decor was. The food we had were burnt ends, reddish, baja tacos, coconut sorbet and bananas foster. My husband absolutely loved the dessert

I thought Dean's restaurant next door was good but compared to Corner, they have a long way to go. Portions are big and delicious. All of their meats are grass fed so huge plus: no factory meat. Had the corner salad, crab tostadas, ribeye and brownie a la mode. Ordered the South Congress Heat relief and it was delicious and strong. My wife loved her dishes. 5 star service as well. We will be back.

Came here for brunch with several of my friends. We were seated right away and the server was pretty attentive and quick. We enjoyed the ambiance and atmosphere here. It was lively. The food was good. Cocktails were excellent. If we are ever in downtown Austin again, I would explore their dinner menu.

We decided to grab a quick bite in between the panels. We heard this place was really good so we decided to give it a shot. Off the first impression, the place looked really nice with several bar areas to quickly grab a seat. However, if waiting for a table it could take some time. So, look for the bar areas and the couches surrounding the bar outside are first come first serve, as well. We grabbed a couch and they quickly came over to clean our table. It was a beautiful day out and the patio area we were sitting at was great so everything seemed perfect. Service was good and our waitress was awesome. We quickly ordered the red snapper ceviche, the brunch burger and the Caesar salad with chicken. The red snapper ceviche was the hit and the fries were very good. As for the salad, my coworker said it was very dry and she asked for extra dressing and it still wasn't right. I thought my burger was mid. I only ate half but killed the fries. In all honesty, this was our least favorite meal here in Austin and if I ever came back, I would try something else over the corner again. Very friendly staff though! OOO 3 out of 5 Afros

Booked a reservation for Corner Restaurant for my birthday dinner. Kaylin the hostess was very nice and helpful. All the food was great; flavorful and generously portioned. Both the guacamole and the pollo asado tacos had a nice kick to them. The braised short rib and shrimp and grits dishes were amazing as well. Enjoyed the Corner Restaurant so much I stopped in one more time on Sunday before my flight home to grab a late night burger. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Austin.

Nice place for brunch in Downtown Austin. The place is clean and comfortable and the staff is really nice! I had the Greek Yogurt Parfait and the granola was really tasty with a cinnamony flavor to it. Super generous with the granola and the fruit was fresh and yummy. The brisket tacos were also yummy and the meat was generously portioned! I do wish that the breakfast menu was served at the same time as the brunch menu, but everything was good nonetheless.

We were trying to find a late night restaurant that would actually be good and Corner actually impressed me!! Besides the fact that they stay open late which is amazing, the vibes were wonderful. I got the chipotle honey salmon (without the pepitas) and cleaned the entire plate. So so so good. Drinks were pretty good too. We had a big party and they accommodated us well and we still had great service. Definitely would recommend when you are in downtown Austin!!

Love the outdoor area here. It has such a good chill vibe and is perfect for brunch, daytime drinks on a Sunday, or even a night out at the bar. I also like that they close later and stay open until midnight even during the week. I got the martini sampler and it was so good. The bartender was really nice too which made the experience even better. I highly recommend it and will definitely come back.

A friend and I spent a lovely Friday night at Corner while visiting Austin. The space is large with plenty of seating. We sat inside, but if the weather was nice, there is plenty of space outside and a bar outside. We did have to wait a minute as there was no host when we arrived, but one soon arrived and let us to our table. Our server spent good time building rapport with us. We got our drinks ordered, which did take a minute to arrive, but it was a Friday night so I was not too worried. The Caesar salad then came first and it was very tasty especially the cornbread croutons. The burger and fries were fresh and the enchiladas had good flavor although the ends did get a bit hard and chewy. Overall, I would stop by Corner if you are at or near the JW in downtown Austin.

We came here on a weeknight and were able to get a table without reservations. Our server was kind and attentive, but the food was just okay. We ordered the spicy guacamole, the cornbread, chipotle honey salmon, shrimp and grits, and a couple of drinks. The frozen Froscato was a nice drink, but they were having problems with the machine that night so it came out a bit late and a little on the thicker side. The cornbread came in a small flat iron pan, making it pretty crispy and also dangerous since it was buttery and flaky. It was delicious. The guacamole was on the spicier side, and we weren't the biggest fan of those spices. The salmon had a lot of harsh flavors to it to the point where it was not enjoyable, since those flavors clashed. My partner liked his shrimp and grits. Overall, the food was just okay, but it wasn't something we would come back for.

I had made reservations at Corner because my friend wanted to try this restaurant. I personally did not want to go here because I felt the food was over priced and the food didn't look great on the overly hyped reviews. But this is where my friend wanted to go to celebrate our friendship anniversary. First impression walking in, it seems to be targeting a "high end atmosphere" but people were wearing casual clothes. When checking in, the hosts seem to not able to find my reservations and keep asking for my name several times. I had to whip out my reservation screen shot to show him. Not the best first impression. Then we were seating right next to the entrance of the bath rooms and walk way of another entrance from the hotel to the restaurant. It was such a weird table placement and the table should not exist. Throughout our dining experience consisted of people wandering in and looking lost on where to go. The service here is terrible. We notice our waiter was the only one running many tables. If they were short staff I completely understand and a simple communication from our waiter about it would have helped but he simply was ignoring us for a good 15-20 minutes until our order was taken. When we asked about the menu, he didn't seem to know what drinks were offered and literally circle back about it after we finish our food. He was annoyed we didn't order drinks when he told us. We were full and that's a very late follow up. We ordered the "Wagyu" burger with their secret sauce.. let's say the secret sauce is nonexistent. Burger was juicy but under seasoned. Burger was bland and nothing special. For $$ for this burger, it felt like catfished. 1/5 the burger comes with fries and the fries were crispy. The poblano queso: 1/5 I did not know queso can taste not queso. It was not cheesy and frankly you can't really taste the cheese. It was the oddest thing. The poblano with diced and topped on the cheese but you can not taste it either. Both nonexistent. Do I recommend this place, no. Service is a thumbs down. And food is a thumbs down. Overpriced and honestly overhyped.

Rating: 3.3/5 [dine in] We came on a late Thursday night as a group of four. Service was on the slower side, and for the price, the food didn't really deliver overall. 7-Layer with Adobo Chicken Salad ($21): Pretty basic at first, but it grew on me the more I ate. Still, not really worth the price. Old Fashioned Wagyu Burger ($22): This was probably the best thing we had. The burger was delicious, and the fries were solid too. Grilled Prime Flat Iron ($43): Cooked well and paired nicely with the chimichurri. The real standout was the potatoes--crispy, unique, and way better than the burger fries. Honestly, kind of addicting. Wagyu Short Rib ($38): The white cheddar grits were interesting, but they didn't really enhance the short rib. Overall, the flavors fell flat so I would skip this one.

    Out doors and glorious.

Do they allow dogs on the patio?

Yes they do! We brought our boston terrier and everyone loved her!

I would say 2.5 stars but I'll land on 2. The first time our server was an absolute nightmare. I honestly don't know why she was called to work at an upscale cocktail bar with such a disdain for her customers. I had a reservation with my husband and our other friend and she just seemed to generally dislike us and anyone else she interacted with. No smile, angry. I don't mind people not having a permanent smile, I can have a RBF myself, I get it. But my husband ordered a table side martini and this comes with a personal interaction with getting your custom martini at the table and I promise you there is nothing she wanted to do less with her day than make a drink at our table, and had no clue what she was doing. She was just potion mixing reminiscent of things I did in the pantry as a kid. She didn't know what to ask that he wanted and was just dumping a little of this, a little of that. He tried to make conversation because she's literally there kneeled at our table doing this, and supposed to be asking for preference on the drink, but not really saying anything. He asked "Do your friends always have you making the drinks because you know how to make good ones?" Her response was a deadpan "My friends are poor." Well. That's awkward. We didn't know what to say to that. When she was done mixing things she realized she hadn't made enough to include a sidecar which is part of this custom drink order. So what did she do? She mixed a bit of this and that again from the random pretty little bottles on her tray with no mind to what was actually being concocted and it was 100% different than what was in the glass. It was even a different color. The drinks made by the actual bar were good, but the server was so dismissive that it was just annoying to ask for anything. The second time we had a different server and he was very pleasant and as attentive as he could be, given the random massive crowd that appeared around our 6pm reservation time. The whole point of Powder Room is to relax and have an intimate, no phone experience, and this requires a reservation. For some reason they decided to let in some random 30 person wedding party or something that had no reservations and just stood basically with their butts in the face of all the seated reservations. It was such a loud volume in there that the server couldn't even hear us and brought the wrong drink. We decided it was too much and left. They did apologize stating they didn't know this was going to happen. Well, you have control over letting people in and this was a choice. I get there was money to be made off a large, random group, but it was at the expense of us as locals wanting to come back again.

The bartender claimed I was drunk and cut me off anyway. I was at the bar talking to a girl while waiting to get a drink (the wait was long because the service is very slow, despite the bar not being very busy at all). She was clearly into me, and the bartender kept jumping in trying to talk to her too (instead of doing his job making drinks). He was doing all sorts of things to try and flirt with her and make her laugh: pulling out and showing her buckets of pre mixed cocktails, running and sliding under the bar, etc. She was engaging with both of us , and right in the middle of that, I get cut off out of nowhere. No explanation other than claiming I looked drunk, which I very clearly wasn't. It felt very clear what was going on--he wanted me out of the way. I left and asked the bouncer on my way out if I seemed drunk. This was literally two minutes later. He said no, not at all, and asked me why I would even ask that. I then told him exactly what happened and asked him to let the owner or whoever was in charge know about this extremely unprofessional conduct so they can discipline the bartender. His response was that the bartender has discretion to cut anyone off, and let me know the bartender is supposedly married so he couldn't have been flirting with any of the customers. Well, sounds like his logic is flawed--not only COULD he flirt with his customers, he WAS, and was therefore cheating. I hope his wife finds out. This is perfectly representative of Austin customer service lately and not normal in other places. I was in Tampa for an entire month earlier this year and this would've been unthinkable there. This is gonna be located on the fifth floor in the JW Marriott. You have to walk through the pool area as this is on the west side of the building. Well, we didn't have a reservation and we were able to get sat right away. I forget the name of the individual who assisted us by placing our order. I ended up getting the espresso martini, and then my other person got an old-fashioned. I was asked if I wanted a shot of Bailey's with the espresso martini and that to me would've been way too much. Valet parking is only $15 (for 2 hours) with validation. I appreciated that, as it made parking not a headache.
