Skewers of chicken and beef souvlaki and lamb chops.
Lee Ann R.

We enjoyed lunch at Habibi House today. We ordered the Mix Grill-A, comprised of two lamb chops, a beef souvlaki skewer and a chicken souvlaki skewer, fresh warm pita, baba ghanouj, hummus, and tzatziki sauce, plus some falafel for an appetizer. My word, everything was delicious! The falafel had a bit of a spicy kick which went very well with both the baba ghanouj and the hummus. The chicken souvlaki also had a little heat which was balanced nicely by the cool, creamy tzatziki. The beef souvlaki was a little chewy but nicely seasoned, and the lamb chops were the meat highlight for me. Be sure to tip in cash so the server, who was manning the register as well as covering all the tables, benefits. Service was great and the prices are reasonable for outstanding food. We'll be back!

Chicken shawarma plate, and the grill plate #2

Really enjoyed my first visit to this place, from the appetizers to the meal to the desert the food was all on point! I really liked the cheese sambosas and the bite of lamb i stole was one of the best I've had on a good long while, chicken shawarma was delicious, the hummus was smooth and lovely. The baclava was nutty and delightful. They kept the lovely little french cafe ambiance from the previous place, and added some nice photos petra/jordan and a few other locations i could not recognise. Cute, small, tasty, friendly! This will go on my regular rotation. Ps if you know someone who fixes german espresso machines the owner has a fancy one that needs work!

I never knew this place existed. I happened to be buying something off facebook marketplace, and the owner's wife said I could meet up at their restaurant. We got to chatting, and I saw they had lentil soup (something I hadn't had since my monthlong visit in Turkey). The lady said I could come by and try the soup when I bought my item from her. So we came by, and tried a grill plate, the chicken shawarma, soup, and a slice of cheesecake. Everything was hands down delicious! The rice was flavorful. The meat was super tender and tasty. The presentation of the food was beautiful! We will definitely be back. I'm so excited to find a tasty restaurant with good prices. I can't wait to return, and I will definitely be excited for my leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Also as another huge plus, the owner is super friendly and welcoming. I definitely recommend this place!

I tried the Habibi House, and I must say, it was so good! I ordered their chicken shawarma, and it was tender and flavourful. The dish comes with a side of nutty rice, a fresh side salad, and a warm naan bread, which complemented the main dish. I took half of it home and it was just as good the next day. My server was sweet and attentive and I love that their cute patio was so quiet and peaceful.

Falafel, shawarma chicken, beef with hummus

I'm Lebanese so I'm going to be pickier than the average eater going to a place claiming to be Lebanese. The owner was friendly and engaging but the food was just OK. I think we may have gotten the wrong sandwich, I wanted the garlic paste (called toum, which is a hot garlic paste) but could barely taste it. He was out of tabbouli, which is a pet peeve, just go to the store. Its a staple of Lebanese food. The falafel was tasty but nothing spectacular, it was grainy and not pureed well enough. The hummus and meat was my favorite. I was disappointed that the bread was no where like Lebanese bread. It is thick like pita, which isn't what I want at a Lebanese place. I'd go back of others wanted to, and am glad I tried it but it missed the mark for me.

Lamb kabob and chicken shawarma

Best falafel in town! The lamb kabob was abundant with lamb. The chicken Shawarma tender. The toasted almond in the rice added a tasty crunch. The salad was fresh and tangy and the naan warm and nice.

Broken plastic in food

I was thoroughly enjoying a couple of shawarma sandwiches from this place (takeout) when suddenly I almost swallowed a large, sharp shard of broken plastic that was inside one of the sandwiches. If I hadn't noticed in time, I'd probably be suing them right now for my medical treatment. So dangerous. How do you not notice that when prepping your food??

Great atmosphere! Classic Nob Hill style that has been elegantly restored but also feels casual and comfortable.

Tried Habibi House for the first time, visited for a late lunch. Wow, I am just blown away by the food here! I've tried a lot of Middle Eastern restaurants in town and The flavors here are just a tiny bit elevated above most of the choices out there. Hummus was smooth and topped with some whole chickpeas, and favorite meats of what I tried here were the chicken shawarma and the lamb chops. I was most surprised by the pickles - generally, I don't like pickles at all and avoid them, but these were very nice and not vinegary at all. I would definitely try the pickles here again, and those are words I never thought I would say about pickles. Sambosa appetizer with cheese was delicious, the texture is somewhat similar to wontons, but more delicate. Pistachio baklava for dessert was wonderful, not as sweet as a lot of baklavas and a really rich nutty flavor. Service was great, unobtrusive yet attentive. Atmosphere feels simultaneously cozy and beautiful, photo doesn't really do it justice, there's all these amazing details in the wood trim, ceiling molding, and archway. Classic Nob Hill style that has been elegantly restored but also feels casual and comfortable. It was a little on the chilly side today, but the outdoor seating looks really nice for warmer weather, kind of an elevated patio that is set back from the street a bit.

Dolmas, baba ghanouj, delicious yogurt sauce and hummus

Y U M. This place is fantastic! A slightly different take on mediterranean fare with some amazing grilled skewers and various platters. All of the sides were excellent, including the hummus and baba ganouj which you could tell were house made. Family owned and run with a cute decor. Very friendly folks. Absolutely looking forward to coming here again!

Pictures, jewelry, fans, a floor sitting space, and a relatable quote were very inviting. The servers were absolutely nice and gregarious. When the hubs was getting full, our server encouraged him with a "you got this" and that was a very nice touch. For our food, we ordered the meat sambosas to start. A big empanada full with meat and some vegetables accompanied by a chutney sauce that had very nice acidity, similar to a chimichurri. This starter was absolutely tasty and perfect to get us excited for the entrees. For our entrees, we ordered the chicken and lamb tikka kebabs and the afghan saffron tea. The lamb was on the charred side but the spices gave it a fantastic flavor. The chicken was not dry and the acidity of the spices made the chicken an excellent choice. Both came with rice that tasted sweet thanks to the afghan raisins and carrot. It was a very different but nice flavor. The piece of naan was thick and soft. The tea was colorful and the tiniest bit of bitterness. Overall, this was a great experience at a very nice place, with friendly servers, and great food. If our first experience is indicative of our future experiences, 5 stars is what this place reflects.

For our next #abqrestaurants #restaurantreview, I'm obliged to let y'all in on a secret I love it…read morewhen we find a new place to visit, and further love it when I find an equally rare gem of a small business that we have driven past many times before. This location, was in a grocery store (several of which we reviewed before) and initially we were the only customers. The owner was the only one working in the store so there were boxes of groceries that were in the middle of being stocked, plus he also cooked for us and others that had ordered takeout, so that more than made up for the slower service time and lack of offer for water (that someone else had previously mentioned) in a small, but beautiful dining room with a TV that was set to an arab channel (currently a work in progress, but again, considering he's the only employee in the store, we give him a LOT of credit!) This was our first time eating anything Afghan, so I was really excited. I ordered a flatbread appetizer and my husband ordered a chicken kebab, plus we had this yogurt drink with mint, similar to kefir (which my husband felt was sour then enjoyed it as I explained how to drink it (If you focus on the flavor of the mint and contrast it to the yogurt, you'll see how well it works together!). Plus, the tart of the yogurt dissipated the longer it sat on the table. The food was equally delicious. The chutney that came with my appetizer was moderately spicy (which I prefer ) and the yogurt drink served as a complementary offset. Unfortunately we didn't stay for dessert this time because we needed to run to the store before it closed, but were grateful to have enjoyed the meal we ordered! (Total cost around $40 for two people but reasonable for the quality ) #gourmetrecovery #foodfreedom #Intuitiveeating #supportsmallbusiness

As you can see from the photo the Gyro was stuffed full of meat and other goodies while the feta fries were plentiful and all covered with sauce and seasonings. Absolutely delicious. I also had a second order from them about six weeks later that I ordered with several friends. Again, the food's presentation was appealing, and the food was great.
