We ordered salad, falafels, lentil soup, French fries, rice, chicken, and hummus. The falafel was different from the usual falafel you get elsewhere, It was much softer and had such a delicious, moist texture, now.... they cook the best lentil soup I've ever had in my life!! French fries were cooked perfectly. The chicken breast was also really GOOD!! My husband ordered a full portion of chicken, and he was blown away by how flavorful and tender it was. And the hummus is an absolute MUST. I LOOOVE IT!!!! We ordered way too much because everything looked so good, and at some point we literally had to tell ourselves, "Okay, we need to stop eating." Lol We live in Chicago, and I tbh.... can't think of a Mediterranean restaurant there that compares to this place. I was blown away to find that nothing has changed. Think about that: COVID broke the world, but Super Greenland held the line on prices, while still offering fantastic variety and quality. You can still get a bag of 8 of the freshest pitas you've ever eaten for $1.49: they're so fresh the bag still has steam in it. The baba ganoush is smoky and freshly made for only $3.49 a pound. Other deli offerings are similarly priced, and high quality. I'm not exaggerating when I say they have hundreds of spices and seasonings. I don't think twice about spending $4 for 1 ounce of cinnamon sticks at the supermarket; here, $4 gets you 6 ounces of cinnamon sticks. They have an entire aisle devoted to pickled things here. If it can be pickled, they have it here. And, do I have to tell you how much cheaper it is here than anywhere else? Oh, and do you like baklava? Of course you do. The variety of that alone is also impressive. I sometimes forget that this is also a regular grocery store. The produce is high quality, and nicely priced. With all the phenomenal middle eastern things here, I'm strangely disappointed that they also have boring things like Froot Loops, Ragu pasta sauce, and other mundane things. It's sort of like the opposite of the "international aisle" at a normal supermarket. I gave Super Greenland a great review before, but I actually think I sold them short.
